Greetings from America! as an Orthodox Christian who has studied most religions, which I admire and respect, I have to honestly confess that I favor Orthodoxy. I am nearly seventy, and have spent the majority of my life loving our religion. Thank you for the opportunity of listening to this beautiful Arabic Orthodox Chant of Holy friday. God bless us all!

It is so wonderfull to see the universality of the unique ortodox church, so awsome to see the same wall paintings i see in "my" church, the same way of singing psaltic music and the same sadness caused by the Great Friday! Be blessed from the happiness you brought in my heart by posting this video. Greetings from the sister Orthodox Church - Romania!

We're all the same.. we are one ...Christians love each other...and other people too...plus the same rituals are performed ... couldn't find any difference ...

NAM :D because Greek is the first language of the new testament Arabs and other Orthodox respect to begin in the Greek and contiune in Arabic. Just like in other religions everyone respects the first language of the fatith and continue in their own. . ITS SO BEAUTIFUL IN BOTH. I JUST LOVE THE CHANTS, IT GIVES ME SUCH INNER PEACE. I LOVE YOU LORD

I am an eastern Orthodox Christian and I recite every divine liturgy the nicean creed. And in this creed, I say, "I believe in one holy, catholic, and apostolic church.". I do not believe that the church of Christ is in many branches, because the church is completely one and catholic (meaning universal or compete). I do not want to be unified with non apostolic teachings. If someone wants to be unified with us as the body of Christ, then they must convert, just like every other orthodox.

There are a good handful of very important doctrinal differences. All of them changes made as the Roman Catholics began to make up doctrine different from those of the Eastern Church. That is what caused the schism. Just two examples: the filoque and the pope. However, I agree with you that we are yet still Christians and are indeed similar. We should love each other and all mankind as we would love ourselves.

This hymn is mostly sung by the priests themselves while the Shroud is getting outof the Holy Altar. So the preasts carry the Shroud out with this hymn. Or at least that is the custom of Serbian Orthodox Church. We sing it at fifth tone - or the first plagal tone, and it sounds so strong in serbian. But this in Arab... Like it is been sung by the angels themselves. It made me cry. May the Lord grant us His peace and mercy.

    100 % ARABIC
Christianity has have and had been originated from the Middle East - so it is no surprised that there are MANY ARAB CHRISTIANS who do practice the ORTHODOX CHURCH teachings instead of the more popular protestant doctrines.
ORTHODOX church is 2000 years old.
ROMAN CATHOLIC is only 1000 years old
Who would you rather follow ?
    ORTHODOX FOR ME.

UNFORTUNATELY there are great differences between papism and the Orthodox Church. The popes issued novel doctrines, unknown to the apostles & their disciples. How can the Orthodox Church accept that the Spirit proceeds from the Son, that the pope is infallible & ruler of the whole Church (like a second Christ), that God will punish eternally those who don't believe in Him, that man can be united with God's very essence, that God works in human philosophical/metaphysical or juridical ways?

Its not a song, its a chant or hymn. Song is not the right word. I corrected many Americans professors on this because I told them, we don't bring the bouzouki in the church. Its mostly hymned , there are no organs. Organs came much later to make it more interesting. Even in the Pagan religion, it was hymns to the Gods, not songs.
