Greetings from America! as an Orthodox Christian who has studied most religions, which I admire and respect, I have to honestly confess that I favor Orthodoxy. I am nearly seventy, and have spent the majority of my life loving our religion. Thank you for the opportunity of listening to this beautiful Arabic Orthodox Chant of Holy friday. God bless us all!
Lets take a moment while listening to this beutiful music, to pray an think about all our Christians brothers and sister who are being persecuted aroud the world, espesialy in the Middle East and other countries with a large muslim majorety. May the Lord Bless their souls.
My dear, i take a bow before you, for that comment. Orthodoxy is the true Christian teaching that still has the blessed presence of the Holy Ghost in it! May the Father, Son and Holy Ghost watch over you. Prayers from a Romanian Orthodox brother!
I am an anglican and i believe all christians anglicans, catholics, orthodox, baptists, evangelical, methodists etc need to unite because we all believe jesus christ is are lord and saviour
It is so wonderfull to see the universality of the unique ortodox church, so awsome to see the same wall paintings i see in "my" church, the same way of singing psaltic music and the same sadness caused by the Great Friday! Be blessed from the happiness you brought in my heart by posting this video. Greetings from the sister Orthodox Church - Romania!
Christians .. Love each other and everybody... this what Jesus have taught us .. obviously everyone is praising him, and every christian understand why we praise him.. don't fall into historical political mistakes ...and don't differentiate between sections .. it's all the same. God Bless you all..
This really hits home w/me. I am a Chrismatic Catholic, I like to call myself for want of a better def. I do not know what they are saying, but it speaks to my heart. PAX MrMichael
In Lebanon for example ... I'm roman Catholic...but we share the same spiritual knowledge , the same doctrines, we follow one master Jesus Christ... We're all the same.. we are one ...Christians love each other...and other people too...plus the same rituals are performed ... couldn't find any difference ...
Thank you for this killer upload! The tones are otherworldly for real. I am Orthodox also and I never tire of hearing the other countries get down on the chants. This was a very special surprise tonight thank you again.
O merciful father god lord jesus christ please help your children unite it doesnt matter if your orthodox, catholic , anglican, Lutheran, evangelical, baptist or any form of protestant as long as you believe in your heart in the holy trinity you will live forever
NAM :D because Greek is the first language of the new testament Arabs and other Orthodox respect to begin in the Greek and contiune in Arabic. Just like in other religions everyone respects the first language of the fatith and continue in their own. . ITS SO BEAUTIFUL IN BOTH. I JUST LOVE THE CHANTS, IT GIVES ME SUCH INNER PEACE. I LOVE YOU LORD
Me too I feel so peaceful inside and when I hear noises in the house at night and like a kid a little fear when I'm alone, (Parents temporarily are in Greece right now) I just do my cross listen to Gaitanos and it puts me to sleep
I am an eastern Orthodox Christian and I recite every divine liturgy the nicean creed. And in this creed, I say, "I believe in one holy, catholic, and apostolic church.". I do not believe that the church of Christ is in many branches, because the church is completely one and catholic (meaning universal or compete). I do not want to be unified with non apostolic teachings. If someone wants to be unified with us as the body of Christ, then they must convert, just like every other orthodox.
im an orthodox christian and i believe that it doesnt matter what christian denomination we come from cause we all believe the same God ....... i dont know why we should be split.... instead of putting other sections of christianity down why not encourage UNITY cause we arre ONE through the Lord Jesus christ our saviour
Not all Arabs are Muslims. Christians make a very big portion of Lebanon, and Greek Orthodox in particular are about 10% of the whole country population! Research man research
There are a good handful of very important doctrinal differences. All of them changes made as the Roman Catholics began to make up doctrine different from those of the Eastern Church. That is what caused the schism. Just two examples: the filoque and the pope. However, I agree with you that we are yet still Christians and are indeed similar. We should love each other and all mankind as we would love ourselves.
it doesnt matter though if we believe in christ, that he died for our sins , was resurrected and is seated at the right hand of the father then we will be in heaven .
This hymn is mostly sung by the priests themselves while the Shroud is getting outof the Holy Altar. So the preasts carry the Shroud out with this hymn. Or at least that is the custom of Serbian Orthodox Church. We sing it at fifth tone - or the first plagal tone, and it sounds so strong in serbian. But this in Arab... Like it is been sung by the angels themselves. It made me cry. May the Lord grant us His peace and mercy.
100 % ARABIC Christianity has have and had been originated from the Middle East - so it is no surprised that there are MANY ARAB CHRISTIANS who do practice the ORTHODOX CHURCH teachings instead of the more popular protestant doctrines. ORTHODOX church is 2000 years old. ROMAN CATHOLIC is only 1000 years old Who would you rather follow ? ORTHODOX FOR ME.
UNFORTUNATELY there are great differences between papism and the Orthodox Church. The popes issued novel doctrines, unknown to the apostles & their disciples. How can the Orthodox Church accept that the Spirit proceeds from the Son, that the pope is infallible & ruler of the whole Church (like a second Christ), that God will punish eternally those who don't believe in Him, that man can be united with God's very essence, that God works in human philosophical/metaphysical or juridical ways?
i am pretty sure the catholic church is older then the orthodox church. that said i love the orthodox church, i am Lebanese Maronite myself :) God bless all Christians.
@MDIS i am maronite christian but sincerlyyy whats the difference, differences are hurting jesus heart so so SO much, hes bleeding for differences in churches. hope that they unite the churchesss i will be orthodoxx!! wats the differenceeeee. this will make jesus herat happy thats wat countss
first of all at begin is 100% greek because i understand and second the arabic languange came to the orthodox church later because of the islamic expansion first in the bycantine empire the language of church was aramaic syric and greek
Its not a song, its a chant or hymn. Song is not the right word. I corrected many Americans professors on this because I told them, we don't bring the bouzouki in the church. Its mostly hymned , there are no organs. Organs came much later to make it more interesting. Even in the Pagan religion, it was hymns to the Gods, not songs.
I'm arab Muslim who love and respect Christians and I love that we have Arab Christians much love and respect from Saudi Arabia Salam ") ♡♥

At the very first of this Glorious Chant, it is Arameic (Language talked by Jesus Christ) and then goes to Arabic.
Deeply moving.
