- Add more realism to your water material using Corona Distance map.
Level up your renders by adding water interactions with solid objects, or add waves crashing on the shore by using this simple trick.
Follow the steps in this tutorial:
• Create Corona Distance map.
• Select your Object and add it to the Distance map.
• Adjust the distance far value to control your wave length (in this example set it to 12cm).
• Add Gradient ramp map.
• Connect the Distance output to the mapping source of the Gradient ramp.
• Set Gradient Type to "Mapped".
• Add markers and alternate between white and black colors to create your wave shape.
• Add Corona Bump Converter, and plug the Gradient to it, then plug the Bump Converter to the bump input of your material.
• Adjust the blurring value to smooth the wave out (in this example set it to 10).
