For those who want to know when the iconic 'Chapman is gone!' occurs, fast forward to 2:41:10 (but watch the whole game... was probably the best game I ever saw in person (during my junior year at Cal). I still vividly remember us Cal fans staying long after the game ended to cheer our Bears for their incredible effort/heart.
Not even the game in Lincoln was that close. On paper, it was predicted as an epic mismatch. Instead, Our Dawgs scored 27 unanswered points in the 2nd half and shut down the Fuskers in their corn field, 36-21. Even our Rose Bowl matchup with Michigan wasn't even close. Had they had an NC game back in the day, we would crush the 'Canes easily! #BowDown
Awesome game, folks ! 👏 There was only one problem w/ the national telecast : Brent "Attention Deficit" Musberger. Talks too much about too many things and doesn't pay enough attention to the game in front of his face. He never learned that TV is a visual medium - let the action speak ! Hear more of the crowd ! Not my cup of tea, Brent. But I guess he gave Cal its' much deserved place in the sun. Guess that's why its' best to turn off the volume and/or listen to the local radio broadcaster while you're watching... 🏈🤔📻
Me and my Dad went to this game. We were lucky to get tickets buying them about 45 minutes before kickoff. Probably the best college football game I saw in person. Wish Cal Athletic Department was able to keep Bruce Snyder. Felt they could have been a solid program in the 90s.
I was never a Cal fan due to their radical politics, but the beatdown they put on Clemson after Clemson bad mouthed them for three weeks was priceless.
That was a really good Cal team.
It's between the 1991 & 2004 as the best Cal teams in the past 30 years.

Fun Fact: the final margin in this game was Washington's closest game of the entire 1991 season, en route to a split national championship.

This was my wedding day..had to delay the ceremony 2 hours so we could finish watching. Would have made the day even better with a win. Go Bears!
