Received my Wuben X3 today and am happy with it. Build quality is surprisingly good.
My only complain is that there's only one button but like 15 different combinations of button presses to change the many different modes and they are impossible to remember without the instruction manual.
Yes, there is a lot to unpack for one button, but it comes in time. It seems like the more lights you use, the easier it is to find similarities between the UI.
Excellent review..good to see all the color options next to each other on a live video
Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words!
Do you have the link for the version dual white 1200 lumens. Thanks.
I believe the 1200lm option was only available as a Kickstarter campaign option. I have yet to see it as an option on their site.
Gotcha. Thanks. That would be nice
I don’t know why you say the white box only comes with the blue flashlight. I bought the white version with the white box from kickstarter.
You missed the hinge change on the charging case from prototype to production
That's true. There were a lot of changes and so much on screen, I had to limit info the the light mainly.
All look good but my fab has to the blue looking one I think 💪
I especially like the white case. Honestly, that green grew on me WAAAAYYY more than I expected it to.
🐌🐌
Can you explain the purpose of the blue/breathing light and is that only for charging???
On the prototype you were able to set it so it was on when the light was on, but on the production generations, it is only on during charging.
It was just a nice feature that they put in there, it did affect the glowing ability of the white cases, but not substantially.
Can you tell us more about the specs of the cable - max wattage? data cable? if so data speed?
What wattage does the 3,000mah case charge other devices via usb-c? Thanks!
Unfortunately I don't have a cable tester, but I have one on the way and can start doing some preliminary testing. :)
i hv great concern for rechargable batteries. Like my airpod, battery life gradually dies in 2-3 years tops to the point i really find it unacceptable to kepp using. i just hate to throw it away in 2-3 years becuz the battery ran its course. how long do u think the battery would last?
I understand the concern, and this being a built-in pack does make it a little more difficult. My personal take on it, is I'm not afraid to take things apart and get components replaced. Battery packs are relatively easy, usually with just two solder joints so I don't let that deter me. I think it is a fantastic light and even with the drawback of a built-in battery, is definitely worth it.
Where did you buy the wuben X3 1200 lumens?
It was a Kickstarter campaign option. As far as I know, only available when they were running their campaign.
I believe they are selling an option with 2 white emitters on their site
how do i custom order the white base version with only dual white LEDs ?
Since I am not seeing this as an option on their site, it may be something you need to contact them directly about.
How do I find the 1200 lumen one?? Can't seem to find it.
This was available as a kickstart campaign option, but I have not seen it in the wild since the campaign.
@@torchesandtactical well looks like it's the baton 4 premium for me lol
@@brandonhunt2041 we literally just put our review of the Baton 4 Premium out today. Don't mind the voice though, I was incredibly sick.
@@torchesandtactical I'll have to go give it a thumbs up for ya.
@@brandonhunt2041 thank you so much!
any idea where i can find the dual white emitter or is it not out yet
same here i want the white case that glows in the dark with dual white LEDs
for the right price, we could do a head swap!
see above
@@torchesandtacticallet me know, I am interested in the dual white emitters
Do you know where to get the duel white emitter version?
It appears it's not listed on their site. I wonder if it was just available for Kickstarter. I will reach out to my rep and find out.
Appreciate it
Well I might have to be a part of your next giveaway seeing as how it's going to be a million lumen light with a five-mile throw and half a mile wide flood. Just a little upsetting it only lasts for twenty-four hours at its highest setting and kind of big being the size of a Zippo.😂
The next giveaway is gigantic. We just hit 1500 subs so we are going to be starting that here in a couple days!
Plastic scratches and glass breaks. The info on the oled panel is less important than the water and dust resistance.
is it just me or Wuben looks like nothing else on the market? are there other China light companies that invest so much in design? They look like truly lights of the future
I have always thought the Wuben was at the forefront in innovation and design. Now I just hope they catch up in other regards.
I wish it had a stand alone USB C on the torch itself without needing any proprietary base etc. The longevity of these things keeps me a step away from purchasing. All my edc lights have USB C and it's convenient.
Similar to the new Olight seeker pro 4, you can keep these topped off with USB-C, but yeah, it is through a base.
My thoughts exactly. These days everyone charges on the go whether its in the car via a cable, or from a power bank with a cable, plugging i to an outlet etc. Sure wireless charging is cool and all but requires a special charging unit. Not having a usb c on the flashlight is a big fail in my eyes cause now you either need to carry the base with you or a wireless charger. I mean they give you a cable that doubles as a lanyard which would have been great if the light had a port on it, but since it doesnt its kind of pointless cause you have to have the base with you to be able to use the cable. Doesnt make sense. Id buy one right now if they had a port but to me thats a BIG miss
@@JoshThompson25 true, for me it's either type C charging or AA batteries as new standard. Its so much convenient as both are easily available.
@@Djinsoul im pretty sure the reason it doesnt have a port is because they wanted more water and dust proofing
@@JoshThompson25 yep, but I have Nitecore Tip SE for years now and with USB C it's been washed up pretty bad many times etc and still works like a charm. If phones can be ip68 with their ports exposed, not sure what's stopping them. They wanted to go all fancy with this one. I think I'll maybe buy the X2 instead.
Love the highly detailed review, will the clip on the back of the torch fit though on a molle plate carrier? We have laser cut molle, would hate to buy it only to find the clip is too wide for the slits 🫠
Just drove out to verify and yes, it fits all of our plate carriers nicely. It'll work for your Molle system as well.
