      Mad respect for you. Some blacks that come to Japan try to bring that hood or ghetto attitude but not you. You go to another foreign country to stay you have to adapt and absorb the culture. Once you do that, you gain respect and appreciation from the people of that country and of course you need to know the language. Seen other videos of black content coming to Japan being all loud and don’t even respect.
      I live in America and hope many black folks here come to Japan and learn the culture of respect and moral values and go back here and incorporate into the black community society. Also, if they watch this video, they will see how to properly behave as a man and learn to work smarter not harder. That’s all it takes. Don’t steal, rob, buy illegal drugs and sell them, buy illegal firearms and then use them against innocent people. Yes, this is not a stereotype but always a choice. As long as no race card is pulled out, strive to improve like you then there is a chance. You gotta work hard first but at the same time, you gotta work smarter and the rest will follow eventually. I’m an Asian BTW.
      Just look at how you cover your mouth when talking and eating. That is an Asian thing that you quickly adapted and didn’t realize because it’s rude if you talk and eat with your mouth open. Also, you quickly learned about not singing loud and you’re used to that in American but in Japan, majority of Japanese are not loud. The problem with black American culture is the loudness and that is especially, with black women. Glad, you mentioned this part of singing in the warehouse part because it’s all about respecting people. Even here in America, not everyone wants to hear people sing loud or blast their music so loud because we are so used to the freedom and take advantage of the entitlement that we don’t realize it when we visit other countries.

      @TheHailstorm77 This entire comment of yours is FILLED with problematic statements. Singling out Black people and stating a bunch of stereotypical things...just...yikes. (Also, an aside, covering your mouth while chewing and talking is not an Asian thing. Many cultures do that.)

      It’s so true. The struggle was far more tough than I mention in the interview but I like to keep it light. It’s not for the faint hearted but at the other side is a kind of peace you can’t get anywhere else.

    Listen brother I completely relate to be happily married & ignore temptation. I'm an actor now, use to run a modeling agency in Santa Barbara now living in Hawaii but ran into this clip. I am from East Los Angeles - moved to Hawaii where I met my Japanese wife & now recently bought a 1/2 acre lot with 4 2 story buildings including 12 bdrm main house in Shiga - Hikone area. Preparing for retiring & DIY my home - I keep it very real and welcome you both & yours to stop by if in the area. Still learning language but having a Japanese wife makes it much easier. I hear both of you guys & Im a good judge of character don't care who you are or what you do just looking for good friends I can kick it with when Im there. Maybe just throwing poles in the water in Lake Biwa & talking story. Let it marinate & hit me back. Hope you guys okay from that 7.6 earthquake sad to hear so many died. :{

    After watching around ten minutes, i just have to say that its great to see the part of japanese neighborhood which isnt shown usually.
    The silent streets, somehow still maintainded bushesh and extremely upkept trees and all that, not just the downtown shibuya.
    What always is something that makes me wonder about the culture is that, that you could leave your produce to be sold and rely on the people to actually pay for it.
    Would mind to get that mindset back to the europe.

    Yello! I was so surprised that I saw you all eat a snack that my mother would make (and I continue to make) as a black person from the south. My mom would take the biggest freshest cold tomato she could find, slice it up with some salt and pepper and it is such a great tasting healthy snack. I understand the mayo too. Although we never ate it with mayo like a topping, we’d make basically the same thing as sandwiches. Literal tomato sandwiches with any combination of salt, pepper, mayo and hot sauce. Very very similar to what you all were eating here. Never seen that anywhere else. I find myself being the person introducing this snack to other people and putting them on to it. Very cool to watch it all the way in Japan. I never would have guessed.

    I wonder what that old lady was saying to him when he was at the vegetable stand . Did anybody else think she was standing there because she thought he would steal from the stand ,she was lingering there for a while ?

    • @whistlerhazy7619
      @whistlerhazy7619 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No she was saying like “I see you often” and telling him there are more veggies.

    • @OneTwentyOfficial
      @OneTwentyOfficial ปีที่แล้ว +12

      She’s talking about her dog. She also asked what vegetables I was buying. Japanese ppl that age if they see a foreigner who stands out often will stop and stare. Conversation is a great way to break the ice as they most likely want to speak but that comes out in odd ways like you saw there 😂

  • @big_mon1

    Love his outlook and attitude on everything that he spoke on. The part about his Caucasian father-in-law blew me. He didn't have to go into much detail for us to know that the man is a bigot. It was ok for the white father-in-law to marry a Japanese lady but he didn't want his daughter to marry a black man. That's wild to me but not surprising at all. You can tell he held back out of respect for his wife but in the back of his mind, he's giving his father-in-law the business..... Eating while standing helps with digestion but can also cause gas and bloating....

    • @OneTwentyOfficial
      @OneTwentyOfficial ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually the father is cool! He definitely tries his best and that’s all I can ask. There’s a lot more at play than I cared to mention in the video. Interracial relationships present so many challenges but Japanese families are quite difficult to appease in the typical sense 💜 I just didn’t want the wrong idea out about my father in law :)

    • @big_mon1
      @big_mon1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OneTwentyOfficialglad you cleared that up. I know and understand how interracial relationships can present challenges. I personally haven't experienced in Japan because my in-laws welcomed me with open arms. In fact, they told me I have a no return policy 🤣🤣🤣... On another note, I think you and I know some of the same people in the industry.
