@@nickthegardener.1120 Hi Nick, I sautéed onions and garlic and cooked a little bacon, canned corn, portabella mushrooms and a cubed potato. All added to the tomato soup. 🍅 It isn't Steve's, but it's a hearty version. Happy Cooking 👩🌾👍
Hi Steve, Thank you for recommending the soup maker to us, I have just used it and Susan is delighted with the soup following your recipe, CHEERS MY FRIEND, Take care.
Hi Steve this not one for me but my kids and grandchildren love it and it's something val makes for them , I got val soup machine couple years back so quick ,
Oh my goodness old fashioned tomato soup with rice in it is my childhood comfort food. With grilled cheese sandwich of course 🤤 This goes to the top of my must make list. Thank you.
Lovely soup machine, Steve. I Love tomato soup, I have grown lots of tomatoes, but I have no soupmachine😩 So I have to make it as I always do……roast the tomatoes in the oven, and cook them in a pan on the stove for hours. Thanks for the video. Have a nice week.
That’s it Steve I’m making this tomorrow, I’ve not got a soup maker tho so will be doing one on gas hob. I got bk from Hereford yesterday, had a look round, I’ve got so many ripe tomatoes lol just brill. Once again a great cooking video I just love it 😊. Leanne 🫑🍇😆🌶🍓
LOL - I'd normally associate Hereford with cider apples, not tomatoes! I did the same recipe in a pan last year - tasted good! th-cam.com/video/nyYmaSCyqx8/w-d-xo.html
Nice Steve! I'm making Sweet beetroot preserve at the moment! Chioggia beet, Apple, sugar, onions, orange zest and juice, raisins and vinegar. Cooking now!👍 I made tom sauce yesterday with pasta. 👍
Nice one Steve, i might try that one, i bought a Soup Maker last year just to speed up the process like you said, and it was just a case of chuck the ingredients in and that was it, a bit like using a Slow Cooker but a bit faster 🤣i did notice the make of your Soup Maker and blimey hope that was a retirement present from work as those Ninjas cost a few quid, Tray would love one of those in fact she would like any Ninja products. At least your Soup looks nice and tasty hopefully with some crusty bread on the side? 🍅🍅🍞🍞 Stay Safe mate 😷 Barry (Wirral)
The Ninja range are on the dear side but they are well made and "solid", They fell like they will last if you know what I mean, Barry. Hard to explain but I'm not worried about stretching them to their limit! I wanted to do a proper taste test (with crusty bread LOL) but the grand kids would have lost out! Have a great week
Not got a soup maker but I normally make my Tom soup in the pressure cooker, I made that much last year still got some left . Also still got about 5kg of frozen toms to make some more.
Brilliant. I used to use the slow cooker a lot more than I do now - coming home from work to the smell of whatever was cooking, lovely! I made a spag bol in the slow cooker yesterday

OXO makes an omelette spatula that works great for the sieving and to scrape sides of the ninja and bowl (gets all the goodness). Learned that trick because of puréeing blackberries, that spatula seems to help the process go faster, probably because you can push and scrape larger amounts than a spoon......and works fabulously for an omelette😁. I grew lemon drop basil this year and it adds a great flavor to tomato soup. More work, but roast those Cherokee purples with the onion and garlic before you make that soup....I promise it will take the the flavor up several notches (almost a smoked flavor). Now I am craving grilled cheese and tomato soup, that will have to wait until those Cherokee’s of mine do more than blush.
Brilliant - I'll see about getting that spatula. OXO make some good gadgets - their potato peeler is the best! I was going to spruce up the soup but I wasn't sure if the grandkids would like it or not - so plain old CoT this time. I do the roasting and garlic thing with sauces, lush taste! Have a great week and thanks for watching!
Found it on Amazon UK... type in “OXO omelette spatula” .....you want the large not small. I have friends/god son in Cambridge so I happen to have a UK account to search👍. I hope you like it.
Really enjoyed that DG. What do you think of the machine? When my stove is lit I can just leave something to simmer away, but I have often wondered about those machines when I haven't got time at the end of the day. Rather like my slow cooker. Plus, I love gadgets 😆
I love it, AJ. It really is fill and forget 🙂 (Not very exciting for TH-cam though 😂) The Ninja range is good (not up with the Sage stuff but good). You may see a few more gadets in the coming videos - about 4 more tomato dishes to do LOL Have a great week.
Hi Steve, I ended up watching this twice! I was making soup the second time 👩🌾👍🍅🍵
Hi Peggy I made tom sauce yesterday probably because of Steve's tom taste test! Hope the soup is good. 👍

Thanks, how do you reheat this with it having cream in it?
From frozen I just microwave it. I never get a chance to reheat it from fresh as it gets eaten straight away LOL

Hi, it is in the description below the video. Hope you enjoy it 🙂
I would have roasted the tomatoes in the oven or airfryer in olive oil and garlic and then added that to the soup maker for a more depth of flavour.
Like this one I made a few years ago? th-cam.com/video/W6R4l_7Dgpw/w-d-xo.html
Very nice, sure it would work with cream added to it. 🙂
Stupidly sieved tomatoes
Just in case there's any big bits like stalks 🙂
