I kind of went on a rant int he comments, then my phones battery died, but felt bad about losing everything I wrote so I retyped all of what I had written. Here is my best attempt at explaining this complex topic: I love driving and teaching so I just randomly decided to drop a couple of tips and tricks for you: 1) I noticed your steering is quite rough. Generally, the goal is to keep steering smooth without applying to much force. There are different ways to do this, of which I am going to list three: Try to apply a less force on the steering. Don’t hold it so tight, kind of leave your hands a bit loose. Try to stay away from sudden movements. The third and most important way is its own category: 2) Looking ahead. Looking ahead is very important, as it helps keep steering smooth, be able to predict the kart instead of react, and giving you more time to react to any crashes or anything. The general rule is to look at the apex when in corner entry and before, look at the exit when you are about to hit the apex, and look at the next corner entry/apex when in corner exit. This really helped me with my driving but it takes some getting used to. 3) The brake is not only there to make you stop, as in racing its a great way to stop. After trail braking, leaving some break pressure will encourage slight oversteer in the kart which helps with rotation and getting around the corner. There are hundreds of youtube videos on this, especially in sim racing, so ill give a bit of a guide on what to work on. First, you want to master trail braking. During that process, you will begin to learn about rotating the car with the brake pedal. After getting good at trail braking, its a good idea to dive deeper into how the pedals impact rotation. Learning what does what is a great transition into turning with your pedals. After you feel confident when turning with your pedals, aim for neutral steering(no steering input with the wheel). This is done by initiating the turn with some steering input from the wheel, and carrying the rest with the pedals. Sorry if its confusing, its a lot to explain. If theres anything you need explained you can ask me or you can go on youtube! The youtube sim racing community has many guides that also apply to karting. Hope this helps!

14:48 This track is quite interesting to say, the least when it comes to overtaking. As, a used to be local at the track, as I'm now moving to outdoor karting. The best overtaking spots are. The upstairs chicane, if you have enough speed you can send down on the inside of somebody. Though, just make sure your front tyre is already aligned with the driver you trying to overtake, rear tyre. Or, there will be a guaranteed crash, as you'll end up T-boning them. Though, it is the easiest overtaking soot on the track, the window open for the overtake is about 1-2 seconds, so I would NOT go for the overtake if you hesitate, just do it the next lap when your more confident. Second overtakeing spot is quite rare, and its not a move you can pull if you don't have the third hairpin down, almost to perfection. Its an overtake on the inside on the up-ramp. Relatively, easy though its hard. Just need a better exit than the person infront of you coming out of the third hairpin. Tip: Also, a quick tip for the, third hairpin, on the exit, let the kart straighten its self out on the exit, or you'll find you self bumping quite a lot, especially after the Junior group races, the third hairpin, is not as forgiving as the track is more gripper so the more you bounce the less speed you'll have coming out the corner, so try stay relatively far out to the right side on exit to avoid that. Third overtaking point is the most difficult overtaking point. Coming out of the chicane onto the down-ramp coming into the double-let apex corner, you need to keep it tight, and smooth. So you're kart is literall touching the back bumper of the kart infront of you, though make sure not to tap there kart, just enough so its rubbing, then you'll find yourself flying all the way to the first hairpin, and you will be able to pull on the inside, with 60-40 ofcourse, as I mentioned in the first overtaking point) "just make sure your front tyre is already aligned with the driver you trying to overtake, rear tyre.".Don't worry about the contact because overtaking on the first hairpin always causes contact as it always catches people off guard, as no-one expects you to overtake there. The fourth is the second hairpin. Its only good for switch-backs but, because the way the track is this overtake is near impossible to actually pull off, against other skilled drivers. So, if I was you I wouldn't worry my head about this. It was just something I thought I should add, as sometimes possibilities can arise, and you can send it. I've never done a switch-back there, but I have had someone pulling a switch-back on me before, after sending it up on the inside of me, then we went side to side into the second hairpin. As, I said, its jear impossible for such a thing to happen so don't worry about this too, much.
Very insightful, thank you, if I ever return to Leicester I'll try and remember all of this because the back of Ryan's head got very tiring to look at 😂

I did an outdoor race recently in the UK and it was fairly enjoyable and the temp didn't really effect anything. Also praying you do go to Nottingham and that you don't get Kart 20 as last Sunday I span out twice due to the awful acceleration it has so just hope you don't fall under that problem.
I’ve recently been recommended your videos since getting into karting and enjoying the content! I currently race at the London Docklands track which is good fun. Would be interesting to see if you manage to get down here at some point. Keep up the great videos and hope you get more success! I do have a question: how far do you travel for your tracks? Mines currently quite local and want to venture out to more tracks but some are more than an hours drive for me so wondering if it’s worth trying more tracks or just sticking with my local one which is a 20 min drive
We started out with local tracks but traveling out is 100% worth it. I'd say if it's a 2h drive or more try plan something else along side karting and make a whole day out of it. There are some amazing tracks out there, give it a try.

love the videos mate and can feel your pain during this one 😂😂 race ruined...... and yes.. a tap on the helmet and a point forward means lets stop battling and try to catch the karts ahead. but usually the guy who giving the signal gives a glance over the shoulder looking for your response... a nod and a point forward from you means, i wont attack.. lets go. no response or a shake of the head means... nar mate.. im coming 😂😂
I've been doing a lot of carting some 25+ years ago. When you are stuck behind a competitor, don't bump him but softly drive against his bumper. At the next turn you'll push him to the outside and take the inside yourself.
Sometime driving behind good defenders can be a pain, especially the 0 awareness back markers. Good video tho, wish I lived near Teamsport so I could race in your group.
BABE COME HERE, THE VIDEO IS LIVE!!! (Also you should definitely give Farnborough a go to test out your raw speed. Definitely a good one to go too for skill)
Raced at this track in BIKC a couple of years ago and I had fun but it was a bit of a nightmare. I got to the final race but let a couple of positions go cause of a bad start and then got stuck behind a train of 5 people (all of which I was faster than) but had no way overtaking any of them because of the track layout. With competent drivers (e.g. Ryan) it's practically impossible to overtake
A grand total of 34 seconds in and I'm already laughing, out loud, not even just a nose exhale. It's gonna be another good one... If you don't mind me asking, what does your editing process usually consist of? I'm trying to get into my own but really struggling to make anything stick! Thanks!
The great thing with doing karting content is that the narrative of the video is basically written for you, the intro is arguably the most difficult part for me because I have to think of some way to make it engaging (it was only four days after I went to Leicester that I thought of the cheese joke lmao) after that, it's just the case of cutting up the interesting bits, recording the commentary, putting some nice transition effects in there, then the ending chat and all that
@@PericoKarting So it's a case of extracting a narrative/story from the footage (IE: this happened and these events led up to it, like how you got spun at Warrington, or fought backmarkers at Coventry) and trying to tell that throughout the course of the video, if I've understood that correctly? Cutting the content down to the important bits to do so, then adding the pizazz with the transitions and stuff. I struggle with where to go with mine as I don't know what to include - a constant battle between wanting to include whole laps and just the interesting bits (say, your content Vs RobGoesRacing - very different content but both enjoyable in their own way) The intro has been the easy part for me so far, it's continuing past that I've gotten stuck. Hopefully I can make something work with what you've said though, thanks man :)
Had a 30 lap battle and the only way to pass him was to wreck him . Never been that kind of racer . He was no dummy for sure . Custom lid with HANS clips and gloves . His 1st time there and i had lots of laps ! When done had to shake his hand for sure ! He ends up giving me a huge hug and siad he had never fought so hard to keeo someone behind him ! I worked just as hard !! If he was a 5 lap superstar would have easily lapped him !
Perico, do you think chest cam would be too low for karting? I am going soon and was told i cant use a helmet mount. Do you have any suggestions on how else to mount the camera?
You can't use a helmet mount of any kind? That's odd, I've only ever seen cameras mounted to helmets in some way or other. Sorry, I can't help with that one
Hi bro, great video! I’m new at karting, I wanted to know how often do you brake, because I wanted to know if I brake too much ‘cause sometimes I feel like I’m slower.
Thanks man! Honestly it varies from corner to corner, but most of the time, you don't need to go full lock on the brake, just enough to help you rotate the kart. Turning with your feet is a huge thing, as weird as that concept sounds, but as you get better at it, you'll start to figure out where the best braking points are 😄
Hi can I ask if you are trying to go to lots of tracks go to cambuslang in Scotland long drive but if you go to members 342 then if you struggle with the track nearly everyone will help you and I go to it and I think you are a god
The most basic tips I can offer is to practice racing lines and braking points, and the way your weight is distributed across the kart can make a difference, too, i.e experimenting with the position of your seat and leaning outward whenever cornering 😄
Haha i thought all youtubers were karting gods??? Nah in all seriousness it was hella fun racing with you and the others

Another great video as per usual. Just FYI, the signal Ryan gave you does mean "work together/follow me", I use it all the time when I'm showing people round my local track 😅👍
I just wanted him to stop attacking me for 2 seconds so I could try to push the 'cheese' kart as they were calling it 😂 although that kart was a PAIN to drive lol.
@@RyanGoesKarting to be fair, the kart you had definitely looked like a stinker, peri-perico never normally pressures you quite that much. Would love to race yall, the whole group seem sound 👍
It definetly was, shame. The track was great to drive but that's the gamble with rental karting. Make sure to pay attention to Perico's community tab for our next race. Be great to race along side you guys! @@WTCasual
Love your videos I jumped the second I saw your video
Found this vid, liked it, subbed. Good job mate
“He comes to the track religiously” 🤣🤣🤣 had me cracking up
Enjoy Easter Perico!
I actually saw you on the way inside for my race academy session, but i was too scared to say hi. Great video though!
Underated youtuber
Hey Ryan if you are here or if perico can just reply but will Ryan upload his footage on his channel?
I'm finally coming out of my break.. yes it took me WAY too long.. but hopefully I'll have a video out this weekend!
love the videos mate and can feel your pain during this one 😂😂 race ruined......
and yes.. a tap on the helmet and a point forward means lets stop battling and try to catch the karts ahead.
but usually the guy who giving the signal gives a glance over the shoulder looking for your response...
a nod and a point forward from you means, i wont attack.. lets go.
no response or a shake of the head means... nar mate.. im coming 😂😂
Is there a hand signal for "Let me through, then, I'm faster than you?" 😂
@@PericoKarting 🤣🤣🤣 that's frantically wave, give the finger and as a last resort throw eggs.
I've been doing a lot of carting some 25+ years ago. When you are stuck behind a competitor, don't bump him but softly drive against his bumper. At the next turn you'll push him to the outside and take the inside yourself.
we need more of these videos
For outdoor tracks gyg and whilton mill are about the best you can go to that do rentals i would live to see you and the boys race there
The wet is the best condition to race in,I don't know what you're on about
You should try out Teamsport Bradford, has an amazing track.
I don’t know how I clicked on this video so quick when I got the notification 😂
you are very quick !! you should race at teamsport cardiff
it was a messy overtake, my bad.
ALWAYS WAITING FOR A NEW DROP🎉🎉🎉🎉
never clicked faster 🗿
Sometime driving behind good defenders can be a pain, especially the 0 awareness back markers. Good video tho, wish I lived near Teamsport so I could race in your group.
BABE COME HERE, THE VIDEO IS LIVE!!! (Also you should definitely give Farnborough a go to test out your raw speed. Definitely a good one to go too for skill)
Hey Perico is back!
Great vid bro 🔥🔥🔥
Cheers mate, this one was a bit of a challenge 😂
Aww mate that start was legendary
Funny how the go kart expert can’t even drive a car 😂
How do you see if theres a race at a specific track?? Cause i cant seem too find it?? Somebody please help.
TeamSport tracks typically host 50 lap races at 8AM, you can find them through the TeamSport app
@@PericoKarting Ok thank you!
Man had the audacity to say work together after messing you up 😂😂
try grid line in lincoln it is very good
Raced at this track in BIKC a couple of years ago and I had fun but it was a bit of a nightmare.
I struggle with where to go with mine as I don't know what to include - a constant battle between wanting to include whole laps and just the interesting bits (say, your content Vs RobGoesRacing - very different content but both enjoyable in their own way)
The intro has been the easy part for me so far, it's continuing past that I've gotten stuck. Hopefully I can make something work with what you've said though, thanks man :)
Perico when are you coming TS Stoke again? I gotta race with you once.
Love the vides keep it up
Thanks! Will do!
Does teamsport do qualifying for these 50 lap races or is track position just random?
Its random, usually based on the order you arrive
That looks like a Biz Kart EXP 3. How badly was it hopping in the corners? My home track uses those but they bounce violently in turns.
remember me bro keep up the work your the only thing entertaining to me rn lol
Had a 30 lap battle and the only way to pass him was to wreck him . Never been that kind of racer . He was no dummy for sure . Custom lid with HANS clips and gloves . His 1st time there and i had lots of laps ! When done had to shake his hand for sure ! He ends up giving me a huge hug and siad he had never fought so hard to keeo someone behind him ! I worked just as hard !! If he was a 5 lap superstar would have easily lapped him !
les go new upload
Perico, do you think chest cam would be too low for karting? I am going soon and was told i cant use a helmet mount. Do you have any suggestions on how else to mount the camera?
You can't use a helmet mount of any kind? That's odd, I've only ever seen cameras mounted to helmets in some way or other. Sorry, I can't help with that one
What kind of go pro do u use, I’m just curious
You need to try wakefield indoor karting
New video let’s gooo
Hi bro, great video! I’m new at karting, I wanted to know how often do you brake, because I wanted to know if I brake too much ‘cause sometimes I feel like I’m slower.
Thanks man! Honestly it varies from corner to corner, but most of the time, you don't need to go full lock on the brake, just enough to help you rotate the kart. Turning with your feet is a huge thing, as weird as that concept sounds, but as you get better at it, you'll start to figure out where the best braking points are 😄
@@PericoKarting thank you for explaining man, I will follow your advice in the future🫡
Hi can I ask if you are trying to go to lots of tracks go to cambuslang in Scotland long drive but if you go to members 342 then if you struggle with the track nearly everyone will help you and I go to it and I think you are a god
I’ve always known the work together signal to be tapping the back of the kart but that could just be me
what camera do you use to record your videos, and how do u place it?
Usually I use a GoPro Hero 10 on a chin mount 😄
@@PericoKarting thanks!
I went to this track yesterday it’s my local track
Will you try outdoor karting??
Stardust speedway act 2 from sonic mania and studiopolis at the start of the race
Ryan's kart was still faster than alpine
Any tips for karters that are starting?
The most basic tips I can offer is to practice racing lines and braking points, and the way your weight is distributed across the kart can make a difference, too, i.e experimenting with the position of your seat and leaning outward whenever cornering 😄
what camera do you use?
I use a GoPro Hero 10 😄

The head tap does mean push. Lol
Like push me, let’s work together and go forward.
Where did you buy your helmet?
It's a Zamp RZ-59, Josh got it off their website, then I bought it off him sometime last year
If you can, can you do a video at transport Trafford park
Please do teamsport farnborough 🙏
