  • This simulation demonstrates a multivariant KKS phase field model depicting the growth of four precipitates growing from pre-existing, randomly seeded nuclei. The growth process of these precipitates is governed by diffusion. The equilibrium concentration is 0.002 in the matrix and 0.2 in the precipitate. With an initial concentration of 0.1, the maximum volume fraction of precipitates can be calculated using the lever rule: (0.2-0.1)/(0.2-0.002) = 50.51%. At this volume fraction, precipitate growth stops. The left panel displays the evolution of the order parameter, while the right panel shows the changes in the concentration field over time.

I don't understand what any of this means but it was recommended. Very cool Jakub

I kept waiting for the red coloring to invade the other blobs in the display on the left!
