I love how this is equal parts epic, scary, and sad. Very much represents what the Ba'als are
booting up a ba'al' fight is already really scary man lol their intro cutscene creeps me out. Sad people can't do them anymore because of the dead servers.

This song and the fight is the first and only thing I've ever seen to capture the same feeling that Madoka's witch labyrinths do

I absolutely love all the different styles and tempos this song includes, makes it very diverse and such a sick song to listen to
That's the clever bit, the tempo never changes, only the subdivision. I love that.

might be because these tracks aren't included in the official soundtrack, which is a shame
I'm not sure why, honestly. This theme isn't in Bravely Second's soundtrack either, and I think it was initially composed for that game given the bosses that use it are actually important to the story.

@@Okanekaseku I agree. Hearing the children chanting is not only excellent, but creepy af too. And hearing this theme while fighting "First Born" (the teddy bear Ba'al) was downright unsettling.
@Meg Media, I definitely agree with you. Especially since that riff sounds similar to one of Airy's battle themes.
It’s a remix of one of the first game’s final boss themes, that’s why. ;-p
What a incredible composition of instruments with added vocals mended together to make a beautiful and unique sound throughout this battle theme.

It actually changes before that, around 1:42. The whole section after is a remix of Wicked Flight from the Bravely Default.
It definitely felt a little odd to hear a remix of phase 1 of the first game’s final boss in chapter 1. 0.o

The first part of this song sounds like a Madoka Magica OST
Not only the song, but the bosses themselves look life they're witches from Madoka Magica
the level design of the battle look like the witches style of Madoka too for me... I though of it seeing Madoka after playing the game.

Fun fact: party members affected by the "love" status effect during the Turtle dove boss battle will become simps, and they will keep looking in direction of whoever they fell in love with.

Seriously one of the best battle tracks I've ever heard in my life. The transition at 1:41 gives me goosebumps every time. Astounding!

The first time hearing this song in main game after the moon was destroyed didn't give me goosebumps, IT TERRIFIED ME! Seriously, i didn't understand what was going on! Made for some fun grind sessions till i realized what i had to do.
Reminds me of the song on Nausica, when there is telepathic contact.

It's probably because Ba'als are sent by Annie, Airy's sister so maybe they wanted to include a hint in the song

@@nicogalax im guessing so? after all when you fight baals in default, they already have "first" and "fourth" in their names, it would make sense if they knew there were already a "second", "third" ecc.
Also they def knew the plot of Second during Default, there is an AR video about Magnolia when you beat the game remember?
@@annesn1fan50 and the stuff about the Celestial Realm in Default seemed important at te time, yeah they set up some things in advance (except stuff like Yew and the Kaiser)
@@annesn1fan50 that seemed like to open ended of a cliff hanger to me though. They could have run a lot of stories off of that teaser to be real. All it really proves is they had Magnolia conceptualized.
Kind of funny how the Ba'al bosses could be defeated easily with an Auto-Battle strategy - pack on as much speed as you can, then have most of your team with Martial Arts and Acrobatics. Using Pressure Point to pierce through the bosses' often-perfect P. Def, then Super Jump to avoid the boss' attacks. You need the ability Hasten World on at least one member to make sure your BP remains constantly filled up, and Super Jump gives you an extra turn of BP refilling.
Well, that’s more of a testament to how absurdly broken a lot of builds can be in this game that you can auto battler everything, even the super bosses lol
The gang battling the Turtle Dove Baal: It's even stronger than Diamante!
Me who killed it with Meteor Rain spam before it even got to attack: are you sure that was hard?
I never got how they were not able to defeat Diamante but then proceeded to beat Turtle dove who acording to Magnolia was even stronger

They can't. the switch has no camera.
And that's a straight up critical plot moment they'd have to cut without it
@@MrSailing101 I'm not saying that part was not important, it actually was surreal for me on my playthrough. However, I don't think they shouldn't ship the game to switch for that one part. Bravely was such a powerful game, it would be a shame if it were ignored over one part of the game.

have it open into your switch library or something, add a line about it being an entryway into the divine beings' world, make adjustments

iirc it used the camera as a “portal” representing our world right? So why couldn’t they just substitute a picture of Earth, Milky Way, etc something to represent our real world? I would also really like to see this game on switch. It definitely deserves it.

Aren’t ba’als based on something i felt like i read that somewhere in a comment i just can’t remember what though it was something to do with kids doing the “la la” part

Barring the in-game lore, from what I can find on the subject, I believe the original comment was referring to Ba'al Hammon, a Carthaginian god. Ancient Roman and Greek sources record that his favor was earned with the sacrifice of children, something that was initially dismissed by modern scholars until archeologists unearthed urns in places of sacrifice containing cremated infant remains. While scholars disagree over whether or not this proves that children were sacrificed in the name of Ba'al Hammon, the association nonetheless exists, and if that is indeed the connection that this song is trying to make...
Well, you can probably guess what happened to that chorus of children.

Isn't this from Bravely Second?
Bravely Default had 2 Ba'al fights as a way of teasing Bravely Second, but it was only part of a StreetPass feature. They also had the Nemesis demon fights.
Kinnda wish the first part of this track was the entire track and this version was for a special Ba'al fight

@@tdark987 it makes more sense if you think about this being part 2 to bravely default, with this being a direct sequel to the og bravely default
@@1jidion No, I entirely agree with you on that point. It’s just that it felt a little jarring to hear it in chapter 1 (it’d be kind of like hearing a remix of One Winged Angel for a boss fight in FF7 before you’ve even left Midgar).

@@1jidion That’s technically true enough. *But* the FF7 remake (or rather the first chapter, which is all we’ve seen so far) ends around halfway through disc 1 in the original, just when you’re leaving Midgar. ;p

@@Larserr oh come on, it definitely has that rough patch but then you get to fight the best boss with the best music. And it’s only a few minutes it just feels longer because it’s tedious. Not nearly a whole half.
