OMG, they are still beautiful! The very last true Jaguar with input and approval of Sir William Lyons himself....his finest achievement. My late Dad bought a Series1 in 1977......it was amazing. I can still recall the smell of the interior and the muted, deep growl of the XK engine when he floored it. Gold cylinder head was for the E-Type? What goes on there?
What a beautiful series 1. I wonder though if it is loved more for it's performance rather than the other fantastic features that William Lyons strived so hard to acheive. After all he did say it was the best car he ever made. And he kept his own original series 1 as his every day driver. I had one of these in the 70's and I still remember how outstanding it was. It was as smooth and as quiet as a Rolls Royce Shadow, and just floated along the highway with a combination of true luxury and a sportiness, that was way above any other car of it's time.
Congrats for not destroying it with the LTwhatever. Stands with healthy ground clearence too, just as it is supposed to. Ser1 xj6 is one of the few car that look good in black (just my opinion) Look for "Jaguar donut", thats my old ser1.Cheers from Finland
Absolutely beautiful. Great job. Very tasteful. You made it better than even Sir William Lyons did! I am sure he will be smiling looking down on what you hsve done.
Triple SUs looks great, the five speed is great, interior upgrades look great…. But you have to fit the front and rear window surrounds! It looks naked. If you need help join jag-lovers and ask the forum. It’s tough to do but not impossible.
Are those gauge bezels aftermarket or the originals with the paint taken off? I'm in the process of buying a '73 and high on my list is getting those damn black bezels out of there!!
I have a Series 1 as well. Love the car. I would like to install a manual tranny as well. May I ask which tranny you used? Your car looks and sounds fantastic. Great job!
Hello mate, she's beautiful, is that a gold top etype engine? They chucked out more power than the designated 4.2 for these xj's. Nether the less she's awesome👍👍👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂🙂
In my opinion one of the best looking cars of all time , I still remember the effect this car had when it came out in 1968. People were stunned by it.
That's a beautiful series 1 and tastefully modified, a job very well done
BREATHTAKING!!!! Maybe the best caught on
camera!
Greetings from England. What a beautiful job you've done. Love it!

Was it 5 speed manual from the factory?.. gorgeous car!.. my grandad had a " Heather pink" one in the early 90s with a auto box
Beautifull condition m8, take good care of her
Beautiful car mate!
It is gorgeous, but looks to sit a bit high.
Nice car. I have the same but 1970 5 speed silver
Very nice
Is the engine original or a swap? Trying to figure out what to do with an XJ6 Mk 1 I was recently given..

The cars had chrome bezels on the dash until '72. I agree with you 100% that the chrome bezels are much better.
Perfect
