- The world's first bed space adjacent to a cat café, "Neko Ryokan," where you can fall asleep while looking at cats.
Privileges for guests
(1) Before and after the cat café "Nekoyuroba" is open (until the cats go to bed), there is a private cat room time available only for guests! (1) Before and after business hours (until the cats go to bed), there is a private cat room time for guests only!
(2) You can also use the lounge room, kitchen, and bar of The Stay Osaka, one of the largest hostels in Japan, located on the 2nd floor!
A part of the accommodation fee will be used to help feed and care for the shelter cats.
Dormitory-style rooms (8 rooms) separated by glass were set up to accommodate people with cat allergies.

At first I misunderstood what you meant by private hire and thought that 13,000yen was expensive, but I understand from the ending now that 13,000yen covers the entire place that can sleep 5 people. That's really cool and actually quite cheap. Thanks for the tour!
I love it that they have regular/domestic cats in the cafe. I love domestic cats, and to see them being so well taken care of, even including the sick ones..it's heartwarming. Thank you Itsuka for visiting this place, if I ever come to visit Japan, I really would love to visit and stay here.
the local cat cafe near my uni also works with shelter cats and it's very heartwarming. they also run an adoption scheme and the cats always seem so happy and relaxed. i've been to some more commercial cat cafes where the cats seemed stressed.
I was hesitant about whether this place seemed humane at first as I have seen videos of other cafes in Asia that had huge issues. Really happy to see that the place is clean and that the cats are well-cared for! The whole set up and wall art decorations are adorable!
I clicked on this video because I'm confused at how a cat café is exploiting animals. Would like to know by reading the comments.

Honestly you should be more concerned here in the states... There's entire youtube documentary sagas about various flubbed shelters and grifts.

Like the TH-camr who make money with kittens which get to old so they have them killed and get a new one..
A while ago having a black cat in a video got heaps of extra clicks so heaps of you tubers got black cats but then dumped them when viewers no longer cared which lead to a heap of black cats at shelters.
If you have cats at a place like this then it's a long term things and you can't replace them with new cats or kittens all the time unless you are killing or abandoning the old cats.

I have considered starting a cat cafe but don't have the discipline or energy to keep up with maintenance
i'm replying to this very late but there is a cat cafe in gainesville! it's called feeline good cat cafe and the cats come from the local humane society and can be adopted. i used to work at the humane society and would see the owner all the time picking up new kitties since they were getting adopted out so fast.
As the human race becomes more and more autistic, Japan has a good program. We need animals to cuddle, pat and bond with to keep us grounded. You got to love it.

I will be adding this to my list of places to go in Japan. It made me tear up at how they chose rescue cats, even the sick ones, to be in their cat cafe. Hoping for them to thrive more because of this beautiful cause 💖
I like how all the cats are just regular cats. The grey tabby probably doesn't like dry food so don't feel bad he/she didn't take your food. The cats have a pretty good life there.

May I asked if the cat ate the chicken chop I gave, it doesn't like dry food anymore?
@@samewish it might be that, it could be that its too much of the same stuff. Try mixing it up? Or if they just prefer soft food, id mix in the gravy into dry food. Their teeth could also be bad as that happens really easy with cats especially as they age. Wild cats eat all kinds of things soft and crunchy so i think its ingrained to enjoy the variety. I had one cat whose teeth were so bad that he refused to eat dry food. We had to add war water until it was practically a soup so he didnt starve to death until we could take care of his teeth.
@@samewish And id recommend that if you try those methods, go thru them fast. By the time we saved enough and recognized how serious it was, it was too late. He had a tooth infection you see. It had spread pretty fast to his poor lil brain. And we couldnt save him. Just make him comfortable. If you can afford it maybe just schedule a vet visit just in case. We lost our lil guy in about a month. It happened too fast for us. Hopefully your cats fine tho and just enjoys the soft food.

As so many other people have rightly said I love that ti is regular domestic cats. They seem to be well cared for and healthy or being treated if unhealthy. No signs of stress grooming etc. As a person who used to do tnr in the USA I like seeing the ear tip indicating they have been desexed in the usa and I imagine Japan as well. I especially like that the cats can get up high and away from humans if they wish and all seem to have enough real estate to not fight with each other

Aww, the kitties are so cute! I’ve never even visited a cafe with animal theme, let alone a hotel. We’re starting to see some cat cafes in Sweden as well now, but I am yet to visit one as I live in a small town and the closest cat cafe for me is in a city about an hour away by car. I’d love to go one day though because I love animals and my almost 16 year old cat passed away just as the pandemic started (he passed on March 2nd 2020, so just days before pandemic was announced here)
Kitties are just the best and this hotel just looks super cozy! I’d definitely want to stay there if visiting Japan sometime

I didn't know cats with FIV were called apple cats, that's cute. Now I can't stop imagining my FIV positive rescue like an apple. 😸
I feel like it's a nickname based on the Japanese name for feline AIDS or something because I never hear it used in English before 🤔
@@MakeyJu I actually did some research... apparently an organization called neco republic created the term and promotes it in Japan in hopes of bringing a positive image for cats with FIV! The name originated from the color of the aids awareness ribbon + the image of cats having a round shape = red + round cats = apple cats!
Edit: neco republic seems to be the brand name of the cat cafe shown in the video
I'd only wish that the cats could be free to come snuggle & sleep in my bed if they wanted to. My kitty growing up always slept in bed with me. He even chose to sleep next to me when he passed away, rather than go hide away like most cats will do when they are about to pass. I was honored he chose to curl up next to me & pass while we slept, despite my freakout when I woke up because I have a phobia of dead bodies lol. He was 19yrs old.
Now, when I stay over at my mom's, her 1 cat always sleeps in bed with me; she has 2 cats. But I did help raise him from the time he was born because he was in the litter my neighbor's cat had. Neighbor needed help because he works a lot, so I was given a key to his house to care for the cat family. Then I got my mom m to adopt one.

I love this idea a lot. I have adopted cats from the shelter all my life. Every time I go there I kind of want to stay there just to give them a bit of attention but it doesn't feel comforting or welcoming, very clinical and clean. This idea would be really smart.
