Well obviously the touristy areas were but this was the height of the heroin epidemic so you wouldn’t be saying that if the lad with the camera had walked up the road a bit
I'd say 1995 too. Abrakebabra on the corner of Westmoreland St is long gone now and I'm sure it was gone by '98. Also Eamon Dorans only opened in 1995, replacing The Rock Garden.
Agree with your view. Step in right direction for this is try to reduce Apathy (judging by how many Irish have quited Voting with regularly 40 per cent of people not bothering to vote).

This was my Dublin. The Dublin I loved.
Feels weird to be nostalgic for the 90s.
This is the Dublin I remember and loved (past tense)...

Not perfect by any means, but infinitely better than today's kip.
Awwww the little city imp busses. Loved them. Bring them back. This was the best time. Dublin is bland and soulless now. 😷
Lovely footage, Dublin was so much cleaner and spacious back then. And not a homeless person to be seen.
They were there, trust me
Thankfully there were a lot less than now...but there were a fair few all the same.

great footage thanks for that
I see a mk1 ford Mondeo Taxi there, they dident hit the street's till 1993, so it's filmed shortly after then.
They really wrecked Moore Street, it's horrible now, horrible
Strange seeing irish people on the streets of dublin
Dublin has lost its soul, character and charm. Its just a miserable mini London now. The politicians responsible for this should be held for treason.

That's cos we all fled to countries to make a better life for ourselves from depressing early 90s Ireland nobody not even us wanted to live here
THE DAYS WHEN TRAFFIC MOVED IN TOWN
I see a Nissan Terrano and a Lancia Dedra (feel sorry for the owner) so must be 1994-1995
They ruined a beautiful city
The Floozie in the Jacuzzi 🤣🤣🤣
What ever happened to that fountain in the middle of O'Connell St? Im getting so much nostalgia despite being borin in 2000
The floozy in the jacuzzi she was shifted to make way for the feckin spire shes in some park near heuston Station i think
@@bmcg8888 That use to be that fountains spot?! There's so much space on Upper O'Connell Street to place the Spire and leave the fountain.

Could of at least put some sound or background music in it
1994 or 95 id say
Early 1995 I think because TIMECOP was showing in the Ambassador which had only just begun showing films again around then
