Thanks for the awesome videos I enjoy them all especially the paranormal. Last night something happened to me that scared me so badly. Behind our house we used to have an old tire swing but it's gone. No rope or anything. But I heard it swinging and walked closer on our back deck and I heard a little girls laugh loud! I have been to Waverly hills and some other scary places but this scared me bad! The swinging continued into the night I was home alone so I called the cops off course it stopped when they went back there. I went back out after they left and the swinging was still going on. I took the bible out with me and stood up to it in the name of jesus and told it it was to leave ! I screamed this. I felt it was something negative and not the spirit of a child. What do you think I should do if it comes back. My bf wrks 3rds and I'm always alone and the cops already think I'm crazy. Thanks ! AMY S

John, you should think about doing a videos about the late Smutt Smith and Fountain City Wrecker. The longest running towing service in Knoxville. I know the family, if you ever give it a thought. They have some cool old antique wreckers.

My uncle's name was on the soldiers plaque you showed. The only name under Sinai Peacekeeping. It made me very happy to see you do this episode. This is my hometown
Also the tank is an APC. Armored Personal Carrier.

Thanks So Much for your video!! My Mother-in-law (she died in the 1990's) lived in Tazewell! She had other family that is still there. It was the title that drew me in, though I have watched your videos quite often. Thanks for sharing a lot of the charm of that small town!! Just a coincidence! At the Gas Station, inside, was the 1935 calendar, set at January! My dad, and Elvis Presley, were Both born on January 8, 1935!
I was Born exactly 20 yrs. later on my dad's Birthday, January 8, 1955!! Being a Kansas Girl I had never seen Tobacco until my husband took me to one of his Aunt and Uncle's farms! I also saw the drying barn's then too.

Hi Jon, I saw a WW2 vet the other day bless him, he was in our local market and everyone was just walking straight past him, I was really disgusted that they would do that. This lovely man was part of the D-Day landings, I went over to him and asked if I could shake his hand, I also said "Thank you for your service Sir" and was chatting for a good while. I asked just before I left him if he wanted a coffee and just as I asked a stallholder who is also my friend bought him one and some cake. I really cannot believe that there were all of these people in the market young and old and no-one cared enough to say Thank you it really angers me because if it wasn't for lovely people like that man we would not probably have the freedoms we enjoy today. Such a beautiful little town, I really enjoy thrift stores too, here they are called charity shops and second-hand shops but you can pick up some amazing bargains. That old church was really cool, I love all the old wood it's made out of, it just looks so pretty. Thanks Jon for showing us around, and thanks for sharing. xx

I remember my Grandfather telling how he bought Gas at that old Gas station and my Mom about the Dances in the Tobacco Warehouse in the 1940's.My Mom was 5 or 6 years old in 1935. She was born in October 1929.

Thanks for taking the time to make this vid. I’m a Tennessee native and have been all over the state (and country) and only recently found Tazewell. Me and my ol lady went to a comedy show at “Halo” (was only us and like 15 other people lol very small town). When I seen the sign of the date it was established I had to look it up. We came back home last night but I wish we would’ve got a room and traveled around today. A lot of cool history. We did get to explore a little before the show but didn’t see a lot of this stuff. It’s a really unique place and off the beaten path, I feel like it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Maybe it’s better off that way in a sense? If that makes sense. Anyway, definitely going back and thanks for highlighting some of the cool parts about this place!

I've been busy the past few weeks, and, therefore, got a little behind on watching TH-cam. However, I was super excited to see that you went to Tazewell. I'm currently a Graduate student just up the road from Tazewell in Harrogate.
I've passed the old Gulf Station a lot especially at night (on purpose because I like to see it lit up), but I didn't know you could go inside. I am definitely gonna have to do that.
Thanks so much for covering this part of the State!
