@@mycountrylife810 your channel has inspired me to start my own vineyard in Australia. I’d love to have filmed it like you have but missed the boat on that one
I've been watching since you started, I'm surprised you already have a harvest, I'd love to put out a few vines of my own, but I don't know if I'm up to the task. I feel you made an excellent choice for your press, it should serve your needs perfectly.
Hi there. Thank you for your comment. Well see how we get on this year. The press is very easy to use so I'm hoping it will do is proud again this year.
Great to see this - our rather large vine is ready for harvest and I'm beginning to think about next steps. I think I will try to employ a smaller scale version of what you're doing here and see whether I can produce anything vaguely drinkable! Should be good fun if nothing else. Looking forward to your next video, best wishes and thanks. 😁👍
@@mycountrylife810 Well I suppose that's always a worry when you need to make the wine pay. All joking apart I really hope things go well and you have a great product at the end. If not (perish the thought) I've seen enough of your channel to know you'll learn from it thoroughly and quickly. Keeping everything crossed for you!
Another enjoyable and informative video. Thanks. The equipment acquisition part of wine making can make or break a person for sure! Over the years, I picked up a piece here and there gradually over time. Some bought used on Marketplace, some bartered for by working for a local commercial winery, some for Christmas presents. The bladder press was my last and most useful purchase. I've got all I need now and one extra tan for racking, which is quite helpful. Well, except for a decent bottler. The $15.00 (Ferrari) one is ok but a nicer one would be great to have. Happy harvest and wine making! I'm getting ready to press my Sangiovese off the skins tomorrow and then Cab Sav and Chambourcin a few days later.
Hi there. Thank you for your comment and sharing your experience. I too scour market places for useful equipment. Nervous now that I can pull off a successful harvest and fermentation process. I’ll keep you posted how I get on. Good luck with your harvest too.
Hi there. Its a Hydropress by Speidel - I got mine from a company called Vigo Ltd. I think they do different sizes but this one is the the 40 litre one.
The malolactic doesn't start right after pressing. 12 days of maceration also sounds like a lot. It can get quite bitter and harsh. Save a couple of vintages by studying a little more :) Great content! Keep it up!
@@mycountrylife810 I’m no expert either :) But I’ve just started making some red wine from my Rondo grapes here in Sweden :) Have also picked up a thing here and there and n my 20+ yrs working as a sommelier :)
Excellent video mate. I can’t wait to see your progress this year
Thank you - much appreciated.
You and me both! I hope we can something from them this year.

Hi there. Always a bit nervous about the next steps as all our hard work to date is up the spout of I mess it up. Here's hoping.

I would be super interested to see the underside of that de-stemming machine. Us "how it's made" fans need details :)
Hi there. That's a great suggestion. I'll do that when we come to use it properly.
Absolutely great videos!
Oh, thank you. Much appreciated.
Thanks for sharing!
No problem. Glad you like it.

Hi, great videos!! Helps a lot. What is the size of the press and brand?

Fantastic. Can't wait to see all of those tools in action.
On a different note what height (above sea level) is your vineyard?
We can’t wait too. Hopefully everything works when it needs to. We are about 500 feet above sea level here
@mycountrylife810 I am looking at a site at 650ft. Would love to put vines on them but nor sure if I am too high.
