- Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche is the Lineage Holder of Shangpa Kagyu. He was born in 1990 and recognized by H. H. the Dalai Lama and H. H. the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. Kalu Rinpoche completed the traditional three-year retreat between January 2004 and September 2008.

I’m seeing Kalu Rinpoche up and close for the first time. He’s so down to earth despite being the head of Shangpa Kagyu sect. I wish and pray that all obstacles be thwarted so that he can continue to do more glorious Dharmic activities in this lifetime and beyond. 🙏🙏🙏

What blessing for the elderly people that Kalu Rinpoche is visiting them ! And Rinpoche well done! This is how a “ modern “ Rinpoche should act, not sitting on a golden throne but bringing the Buddha’s teaching to the people….
Such a blessing. 🙏 Thank you rinpoche la 🙏🌸🌼🌺 it’s very sad to see people aged and no more memories. My experience, money isn’t important to them because they won’t identify value and won’t be able to mange. What ever valuables they own , in the end someone will take them. Most important they need care mentally and physically. Interact with them instead giving quite and abandon space. Even though they acting annoying please bare with love and compassion. It’s hard, still try to understand them acting like a kids but no more cute. I myself witness elder abuse by daughter-in-law in Tibetan community because they tired looking after. You can’t blame only daughter-in-law , their own son doesn’t have time.
Beautiful amazing people. May His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche live a long healthy life. I am not Buddhist but love is love in any religion or way of life. God is good.
Pure Buddhism is a actually non-theistic and atheistic. Some Buddhists believe god. Because pre Buddhist influence .

In my country , poor or rich ,children never give up aged old parents and take them with us and we live together till they die ,take care of them in spite of lot of tasks outside ,because they've done what we are...and bei uns, there's no elders home around ,our culture is ''give back to parents all they did for you at their old age''

When I came to India, I saw that most Tibetans here send their parents and elderly people to nursing homes. I know they might be busy, but it's sad. The kindness of parents is incredible. Tibetans practice Dharma on the premise of compassion, but these Tibetans in India are very saddened to send their elderly parents to nursing homes, the report said. The elderly need companionship. In Tibet I have been to, I have never heard of it, never seen it, and in India, the Tibetans here are very disappointed.
