My maths told me a story during the early 80s in the UK (1981/82ish), two of his classmates actually contacted Lemmy - with one of them actually calling Lemmy in the classroom during lunch break. My teachers and his classmates all gathered round the table just to hear his voice. Someone actually recorded the entire conversation on a cassette tape. He told me Lemmy was nice.
Great book! It just makes you wonder how some of these guys survived as long as they did lol, crazy life! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching ♠️ Cheers from Canada
My ranking for the Motörhead albums would be🤘 22. Snake Bite Love 1998 21. Hammered 2002 20. Bad Magic 2015 19. Overnight Sensation 1996 18. 1916 1991 17. The World Is Yours 2010 16. Kiss Of Death 2006 15. Aftershock 2013 14. We Are Motörhead 2000 13. Sacrifice 1995 12. Inferno 2004 11. Motörizer 2008 10. March Or Die 1992 9. Iron Fist 1982 8. Bastards 1993 7. Rock N Roll 1987 6. Orgasmatron 1986 5. Motörhead 1977 4. Another Perfect Day 1983 3. Bomber 1979 2. Overkill 1979 1. Ace Of Spades 1980
Great video, Darcy! You can never go wrong with Motorhead! I'm in the midst of a major Motorhead binge right now, and I wanted to check out your ranking. It would be impossible for me to put out a full discography ranking for them, because I'd never know where to slot each one - outside of my top 2, which are firmly set: 1) Inferno and 2) Kiss of Death. Long live the mighty Motorhead!
only one word : LEGENDS i saw motorhead in concert in Brescia in Italy in 1982 to support the album Iron Fist I remember the crazy volume and the people going crazy, an amazing thing. in Italy at that time several groups played and I was then fifteen in 1982 and I was lucky to be able to attend several of these concerts, after the motorhead concert i had my ears ringing for a week
Awesome that you met them, i was fortunate enough to meet Lemmy once and have a beer with the man in '94, Mikkey Dee was also their and i have had 2 other occasions to drink with Mikkey, awesome guys ..zero ego and down to earth. Motorhead Rules 4 ever!
That’s so damn cool , I’m smiling just thinking about you having a few drinks with the guys , I wish I had more time that day , I would of definitely tried to buy them a drink ! Thanks for watching Phil ♠️ Stay Stone Deaf Forever
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Ya met them at a bar in Montreal called Backstreet Underground..that bar was so awesome..all the metal bands that played Montreal would hangout their afterwards..met many famous people their..was so cool.
This was a huge undertaking mate, so well done! I’m not a massive Motörhead fan but do own around 5 albums which I do enjoy. Bomber, ace of spades and orgasmatron being a few of them. Cheers Darcy!
Thanks mate ! These ranking are a lot fun & a great way to reconnect with a band or some albums you don’t know as well ! You listed off a few great album there , time to give them a spin ! Thanks as always my friend 🍻 Cheers
First saw Motorhead live in 83 with Robbo on guitar, first heard them in 79. 1. Another Perfect Day 2. Overkill 3. Bomber 4. Orgasmatron 5. Ace Of Spades 6. Inferno 7. Motorhead 8. Iron Fist 9. Bastards 10. Rock n Roll
Oh man I’m jealous that you got to see them in ‘83 , Another Perfect Day ... what a great album , cool to see it in your #1 spot ! Thanks for sharing your Top 10 ♠️ Cheers Shayne
Great video Darcy, a ton of albums here so must have been a tough ranking to do. Nice to see someone else talking so positively about Another Perfect Day too, personally I love that album.
Yes this ranking was pretty tough , a lot of consistency in their discography ! Good to hear you love Another Perfect Day , it’s always been one of my favourites ! Thanks as always mate 🍻 Cheers
I don’t have that box set but I’ve heard it’s very well made & well worth the money ! Glad you found this helpful , thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
One of those bands I say I love but don't own that many albums from them, probably only 4 or 5. I'd struggle to name half of them, so great to see you show them all and hear your thoughts on them. Ranking 20+ albums from any band it a tough undertaking, so well done!
I think you may have a copy of Bastards handy , give it another spin , Burner is a top notch song + many other good ones on that album ! Yes these large discographies aren’t easy to rank , I’ll only do them if I own the albums & know them well enough , I don’t need to be talking out of my ass for no reason 🤣 Cheers Andy
Excited to dig into Motorhead finally, never was super interested by 'em in the past, eeally enjoying the songs this time around. Gonna start with Orgasmatron first I think! Love to hear that you met the guys at an airport, that is badass... I've only met one musician in my life and it was literally on Saturday at the Powerwolf show, Roel Van Helden (drummer) was hanging out by the gates haha. Cheers mate
Can remember buying Iron Fist on release and also picking up Overkill and the original No Sleep 'til Hammersmith on cassette tape. Recently I have started to recollect their albums on cd and picked up Ace of Spades / Motorizer & Better Motorhead than dead live album. Great band and Lemmy what a legend.
Hats off to you Darcy! This must have taken a lot of work to put together! I’m a fan of Motörhead & I’ve been lucky enough to see them live, but I only own about 8 or 9 of their albums! This video has given me the pointers I need to buy a few I don’t own!! Always good to see you brother!🤘🏻
It’s a labour of love mate & let’s face it this little hobby keeps me out of Mrs.6Strings hair lmao . Thanks as always Marc , let’s hope I’ve pointed you in the right direction to some more Motörhead ♠️
Another great ranking video Darcy! My favourite 3 Motörhead albums: 1. 1916 “Make My Day“ is perhaps one of Motörhead’s best songs nobody talks about. The lyrics “I make love to mountain lions” in I’m So Bad pretty much sums up Lemmy - who else could say that. One of the best metal ballads in “Love Me Forever” All due respect to Snaggletooth but 1916 may be one of their best album covers. 2. Bastards Motörhead moves into thrash territory with “Burner” A blazing return to form after the mis-step that was March or Die 3. Overkill Not a single filler song in the album According to some, the inception of the double bass was first heard on the title track by Phil Taylor. Enough said. Stay heavy Bro!
Oh man there is enough Motörhead to keep you going for years lol . It sure was a thrill meeting the guys , it was one of those “ did this just happened “ moments ! Cheers my friend 🤘 Keep It Heavy
I have a favourite album for each era. For the 70's my favourite is Overkill. For the 80's Orgasmatron. For the 90's Bastads. Early 2000's would be Inferno and when it comes to their final albums my favourite is Aftershock. If I had to choose a LIVE album it'd be 'Everything Louder Than Everyone Else' without a doubt. It's just insanely good. I like Snake Bite Love more than Hammered tbh. 'Dogs of War' is a banger as well as 'Take The Blame'.
YES!!!!!! As per our conversation last week, I’ve been waiting patiently for this video, very cool story meeting the band,Motörhead is a band unfortunately never got to see, I had tickets to a show that they were playing here in NB but it got canceled due to poor ticket sales, I was devastated, I agree Aftershock is a solid album, definitely a top 10 for me, awesome as always brother, see my top 5 below 1. Ace of Spades 2. Orgasamatron 3. Iron Fist 4. Motörhead 5. Motorizer Cheers - Dan
Thanks for sharing your Top 5 , we both must of got into Motörhead around the same time , you told me Orgasmatron was one of your favourites & rightfully so ! Cheers from Rider Country 🏈
Although I’m not a big fan of Motörhead, I do like a few songs. Awesome comprehensive ranking that I must admit has made me more interested in them. Seen them live supporting Motley a few years back and they rocked hard🤘
That’s my job my friend , spending your money 🤣😂 all kidding aside I hope you check out some of those albums , try the Top 2 or 3 for starters ! Cheers Brendan 🤘 Stay Minty
Thank you very much ! Ah nice to hear you love Another Perfect Day , I wish they would of did at least one more album with Brian ! Cheers Dan 🤘 Stay Safe
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Thanks for your warm welcome Darcy. I really enjoy your videos and certainly will watch more of your great stuff. Cheers from Poland 🤘🤘🤘
With regards to Lemmy saying Motorhead are Rock and Roll, Lemmy also said in an interview about Metallica that "Heavy Metal is Rock and Roll, it's just another name for it." And in his autobiography "White Line Fever" Lemmy does reference Motorhead as a metal band a few times, in particular when Philthy was leaving the band to play more "legit" music Lemmy defended Heavy Metal as being as legit as any other form of music. He also said in the book that Heavy Metal is the true spirit of Rock and Roll. I could be wrong but I think Lemmy just got sick of the labels. He once said "There's only two types of music, music you like and music you don't". To him metal, punk, and rock is all just rock and roll, so he just stripped away all the labels for it. You can't play songs like Sacrifice, Burner, Orgasmatron, Built for Speed. etc and say Motorhead isn't a metal band. And Lemmy never argued with all the metal tours, metal festivals, and everything metal that motorhead would be featured on. He never once said "I can't be in your metal magazines, your metal festival, or tour with all these metal bands, because Motorhead isn't a metal band."
Another great video Darcy! Motorhead are certainly high on my radar of bands to get into, and I'm even more excited with you and Bryce Talks Metal uploading album rankings in the same week. Would be really cool of you could do an Ozzy Osbourne solo albums ranked! Have a great weekend Darcy, and stay heavy!
Thanks very much ! Yes I see Bryce also did a ranking , he’s got a great channel , good to have the old guy’s & young guy’s point of view lol . Yes I will eventually rank the Ozzy Osborne solo albums ✔️ Have a great weekend too 🤘 Always Heavy
Very interesting ranking! Motörhead is one of my absolute favourite bands and i wouldn't be able to rank this great consistent catalogue, but my Top 5 would probably be: 1. Inferno 2. Kiss of Death 3. Aftershock 4. Ace of Spades 5. Bastards Aftershock and The World is Yours are both underrated Records in my Opinion!
Good to see a few of the newer albums on your list , some of their heaviest material ! Your right about consistency , you always know what your getting with Motörhead ♠️ Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Yeah, the early Albums like Ace of Spades, Overkill, Bomber, Another Perfect Day are iconic and classic stuff, but i honestly like the very heavy stuff the most 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Don't know what you think, but Bad Magic is a very good album but the production is not as good as the albums before in my opnion
Great ranking video Darcy. What a band. Being a big Motorhead fan myself you really can't go wrong with those top 5 albums. You're bang on saying that Lemmy lost the power in his voice towards the end. I thought he sounded terrible on the Clean Your Clock live album. Love the Motorhead flag in the background. Keep up the good work and stay safe 🤘
Thanks very much Adrian ! I’ve never heard Clean Your Clock , but I have heard Lemmy was pretty weak at the time it was recorded ! Cheers my friend ♠️ Stay Clean
Nice ranking! I remember Orgasmatron was the first Motorhead album I bought. Never caught them live though. Such a great discography. So many great stand out songs in their catalog. Been awhile since I actually spun some of their albums, come to think of it. It's time I remedy that. Thanks for the inspiration! Take care :)
Thank very much ! Hey if I inspired you to spin even just one Motörhead album , then mission accomplished lol . Thanks again for taking the time to watch & comment 🤘 always appreciated !
Hey Darcy! Great job! What an undertaking 22 albums is quite a task. I've listened to everything with the exception of their last 3. Ace of Spades was the first video I ever seen on MTV and was the first album I purchased. I just thought it was cool the way Lemmy would stand in front of his mic and sing while hammering away on his bass! I did get to see them live at Ozzfest 98. They were fantastic and to see Lemmy in his classic pose at his mic live was just cool to me. I was quite surprised that they had been scheduled to play on the smaller side stage? I thought is was a bit disrespectful not having them on the main stage but it didn't matter they rocked the joint! I've always have leaned towards their earlier stuff Motorhead, Overkill, Ace of Spades, Bomber and I do really like March or Die. Overkill is a perfect choice at number one. Absolute classic! Darcy another fantastic job! Take care and stay safe my friend and as always stay heavy!!!!
That’s so cool you got see them at Ozzfest , that whole festival must of been one big assed party lol . Haha I’ve always loved how Lemmy mic stand was ♠️ he was true rocker ! Thanks as always brother 🤘 Stay Clean
My top 10 favourite Motörhead albums would be 10. March Or Die 9. Iron Fist 8. Bastards 7. Rock N Roll 6. Orgasmatron 5. Motörhead 4. Another Perfect Day 3. Bomber 2. Overkill 1. Ace Of Spades
Well done. I'd have to revisit several albums from the 90's and 00's to compile a thorough ranking. In the meantime, here's my top 5: 1- Overkill 2- Ace of Spades 3- Bomber 4- Another Perfect Day 5- The World is Yours
So many great albums here, some overlooked too! So good to see Another Perfect Day in your Top 5. Thanks for taking the time to hang out with me ♠️ Cheers from Canada
Great airport story Darcy! As a journalist for almost 28 years now, met/saw many of my heroes. But I always kept my distance. I regret it now somewhat..
I’ve met a few rock stars , but it’s even more exciting when your not expecting it , it’s like “holy shit it that” 😳 Thanks for stoping by Mark 🤘 Stay Safe
22. Another Perfect Day 21. 1916 20. March or Die 19. Snake Bite Love 18. Motorhead 17. Sacrifice 16. Hammered 15. Overnight Sensation 14. Rock'n'Roll 13. The World is Yours 12. Aftershock 11. Overkill 10. Bomber 9. Orgasmatron 8. Bad Magic 7. Inferno 6. Motorizer 5. Kiss of Death 4. We Are Motorhead 3. Iron Fist 2. Ace of Spades 1. Bastards
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Darcy do you like Stone Temple Pilots? I'm new to the channel so I don't know if you did videos on them, but anyway STP is one of my favourite bands, really underrated. Of course I mean the classic line-up with Scott Weiland
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I also think that 1916 is awesome, one of my favourites. It gets overlooked a lot, "Love me forever" in on that album, a great, great song 🤟
FINALLY a list that doesn't have Overnight Sensation near the bottom. I realize lists are subjective, but I've always found that one to possibly be their most overlooked album. Also, I'm definitely going to have to revisit 1916 as it seems to be highly regarded, but I can't remember much about it. I won't attempt all 22, but here's my Top 5, off the top of my head: 1. Overkill 2. Bastards 3. Another Perfect Day 4. Inferno 5. Overnight Sensation Cheers Darcy.
Haha I love Overnight Sensation , it’s just solid the whole way through & the song Broken is one of my favourite Motörhead songs period ! I like your Top 5 Mr.D , you have a good mix there ! Thanks as always for watching & commenting 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Nice Ranking Darcy, doing this one had to be a tough one, I'm definitely an old school guy when it comes to this band 70s-80s, Overkill is definitely top of the list followed by Ace & Bomber for me. This was a band that influenced a lot of the old school Thrash bands, Enjoyed Man, Take Care and Stay Heavy Brother 🤘🤘
Thanks David ! It’s hard to beat those early albums isn’t it , such classics ! Your right , Motörhead influenced so many & with continue for years to come ! Cheers brother ♠️ Don’t You Sweat It !!
I heard Motörhead in 1981. My faves: No Sleep Till Hammersmith (first one I bought from them on vinyl) Iron Fist Inferno Rock and Roll (first time seeing them live) The World is Yours (Wacken Open Air 2011 and Brutal Assault Fest 2011, 2012- Mayhem Festival) Orgasmatron Kiss of Death (San Diego concert) RIP Lemmy, Philthy, Fast Eddie. They were Motörhead and played rock and roll. 😔 🇬🇧🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Live and Heavy LP from 1981 an import album that has ten bands on that record. Track three was my intro to Motörhead: White Line Fever (live) Been a fan ever since. 🤘
That must have been tough to rank all these great records but you nailed it. Finally a video my purse stayed closed after watching, hehe... Except "March or Die" I have them all on vinyl. My first contact must have been around 1987, I saw the concert posters to that tour with Destruction and King Diamond supporting here in Germany. My Top three are: 1. 1916 2. Orgasmatron 3. Overkill Thank you for this great video, Darcy! "Stay Heavy"? - Well, let´s see if this will ever change after 35 years, hahaha...
I’m glad to hear your wallet is taking this video off haha ! I think your Top 3 is safe , all great albums ! Thanks for taking the time watch & comment 🤘 always appreciated my friend :))
Cannot believe you met Mickey Dee!! One of the greatest drummers. Love his work on conspiracy from the king. Love the effort put into this video and the depth you go to rank your discographies, this ones no different. I just don’t know enough from this band to chime in. I noticed the banner in the back immediately! Lol. Great video Darcy. Stay Lemmy! 🤟🤟
I couldn’t believe it when I saw the back of his jacket , “holy shit , is that Mikkey Dee” ... I was definitely at the right place at the right time lol . Thanks for the kind words Joe ♠️ Keep The Hammer Down !
I thoroughly enjoyed all 30 minutes of this video, excellent work Darcy! As a Motörhead fan of a slightly different generation my list is different than yours and yet I agree with most of what you are saying when you go through album after album. Our taste in Motörhead reflects the time we are introduced and how we have experienced this awesome band. One fine day I hope I will also get around to do a ranking so I will hold my thoughts for that time. I envy that you have actually meet Lemmy, what a cool experience. May the metal gods and Lemmy smile upon you for this video my friend! Cheers! 🤘🏻
Thanks very much ! Honestly I could of made this video 2 hours easy , but I wouldn’t do that to you haha ! I look forward to your ranking , always cool to see how other people see them ! Cheers Daniel , thanks as always ! R.I.P. Lemmy ♠️
Such a great band and I agree so much. So consistent, any album you bought you knew what you were going to get Motörhead one of the earlier metal bands I got into on Bomber then Ace of Spades. The video got a tonne of play on a 70’s/80’s music show in Australia called Countdown. Very tricky discography to rank Bomber Overkill Orgasmatron Iron Fist Another Perfect Day Bastards Inferno 1916 Ace of Spades would be my favourites in that order Excellent video Darcy
You hit the nail on head , you always new what you were going to get with Motörhead & that’s good with me ! Great list Chris , those are 9 great albums ! Thanks for hanging out , always appreciated ! Take care ~ Darcy ♠️
Nice to check out your fave song of each album Darcy. It was a lot of fun to listen to those tracks. Amazing job you did. A big job but for shore you enjoyed it. Lot of fun this video. Maybe to make this video perfect you should have been smoking and drinking jack daniels but even with water you made this video perfect. Loved it.
Thanks very much for checking out those tracks , I really appreciate that my friend ! It was a little early for a Jack & Coke , but I did have some beers later & raised a toast to Lemmy & the boys 🍻 Cheers to all that love Motörhead & Cheers to you René 🤘

Your welcome & thank you for watching ! I did test myself to see how well I knew the later albums , I put 5 discs in at time and randomly guessed what album the songs are on , I did ok lol . Thanks again 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Man once i saw this in my recommended while i was in class, i got so excited. There are no bad albums at all. The worse album would have me heading back to half the album, so that is pretty good in my book. Me and my brothers ranked motorhead's albums and it took me around 6-10 hours to go through all of their albums, one of my brothers had Ace of Spades quite low and another forgot Aftershock existed lol. Anyway here is my ranking. 22.Snake Bite Love 21.We Are Motorhead 20.Aftershock 19.Kiss of Death 18.Another Perfect Day 17.March or Die 16.Overkill 15.Motorizer 14.Iron Fist 13.1916 12.Bastards 11.Motorhead 10.Bomber 9.The World is Yours 8.Overnight Sensation 7.Sacrifice 6.Rock N Roll 5.Bad Magic 4.Inferno 3.Ace of Spades 2.Orgasmatron 1.Hammered As i said, no bad albums, all great albums. Hammered and Orgasmatron are really close.
Sorry to interrupt your class , but Motörhead is more important 🤣 Yeah this was one of the more difficult bands to rank because most of the albums are so damn close ! Thanks for sharing your ranking & your love for Lemmy & the boys ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 It's quite impressive that they made 22 albums and none of them were bad. Usually, bands can't make albums that good for so long. And those guys were going since the late 70's. Really incredible stuff. I got into Motorhead in late 2020, and they are one of my most listened to bands, and for good reason. But since it's maybe been several months since I have listened to them. None of these albums have experienced aging for me or anything, so my list will probably be way different in around a year or two lol.
I definitely found this video VERY useful since my exposure to Motorhead has been limited to a narrow time period. Live album out next month, but you might already know that. I got into Motorhead by blind-buying No Remorse back when it was new, and got the leather cover edition, to boot. And, yeah, they're metal, regardless of Lemmy's insistence. Thanks for making this, Darcy. Time to start hearing some of these!
Good to hear Matt ! I’m the same way with bands that I have limited exposure to , always nice to get a little more insight ! Yes new live album Louder Than Noise ... Live In Berlin ✔️ pre-ordered , you bet your ace it is ! Cool that you have a OG copy of No Remorse , that’s definitely a keeper ! Thanks as always 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Cannot go wrong with Motorhead. Not a bad album in the bunch. Only managed to catch them live twice. After I moved out west I always intended to plan a L.A. weekend to hang at The Rainbow in event Lemmy showed up. Never made the trip and I missed out. A few weeks ago I attempted a Rainbow pilgrimage but they weren't open for some reason.
Hi Darcy!!! wow ranking all Motorhead's studio albums must have been a huge task, but a good one to do, they are a very solid band that did not change that much during their hole career, i still need to get more of their stuff, just own the ones the classic lineup put together and had the chance to them live only one time!!! cheers and be well
Yes I definitely put in some time , I like to be prepared , no half assing it here at Planet6Strings lol . That’s cool you got to see them live ! Cheers Christian ♠️ The Louder The Better !
Hi Darcy, I am indeed one of the "usual suspects!" Haha! Motorhead on Planet6Strings! Been waiting for this one. But is "The Chase Better Than The Catch?" I'd say in this case the catch is better, another great episode! Saw Motorhead in around 1994 in Dallas with Black Sabbath on their Cross Purposes Tour. Was an amazing show! I know it was very tough to rank a catalog like this. What a discography! Thanks for tackling it! Overnight Sensation with the clean-shaven Lemmy on the cover made me do a double-take when I bought it back in the day, haha!!! Keep up the great work! "Another Perfect Day" on Planet6Strings!
Always good to hear from one of the “usual suspects” lol , thank you as always for the kind words ! I know hey , I had the same reaction to seeing a clean shaven Lemmy ! I hope you are having Another Perfect Day too 🍻 Cheers
Appreciate the decoration done in the background, always a nice little touch. Now I have tried many times to get into Motorhead, but my conclusion is its just not my band. Maybe some day I will get my head around them. It was a nice video to watch though. Cheers Darcy man!
Haha yes , thanks to my friend Adem for sending me all that cool Motörhead stuff ! That’s ok if they’re not your band , I just love that we can say how we feel without someone getting pissed off & hey if they do then f#%k ‘em 🤣 Take care Thomas
Great choices John ! They had some very good albums in the 90’s , Overnight Sensation is definitely one of them , try Bastards from 1993 , I’m sure you’ll love it ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Man that had to be an undertaking! Motörhead was a band I only ever knew ace of spades (obviously) and the game for the longest time. Finally one day it dawned on me that I loved those songs that much I needed to check out their other stuff. Started with overkill and ace of spades album as they’re on everybody’s top two and stumbled into a nice bulk buy on eBay recently for another 11 of them. Enjoying the ride so far, keep going back to those top two and bastards the most. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Sadly only ever heard about a 3rd of those albums, cool ranking indeed, great work as usual... My favorite song by Motorhead is "The Game"...Triple H theme, Cheers buddy
Another Perfect Day is outstanding. I like this one very much. Somehow, a kind of melodic art-rock meet the power of Motorhead. When it came out, many fans refused the album and the reviews told about how bad this album was. The live tour did not fit the awaiting of the fans, so they had to cancel the last concerts in USA. (Someone wrote tis on YT.) I wish this album would have made an influence to other bands, but seems it just stands for itself. Many years later metal turned into a prog direction, but somehow something ground standing got lost. I find it in A P D. // Some people say they would have liked a second record of that MH line. I think it would not have worked. The following album Orgasmatron was much harder and complete different to A P D and much more successful. // I am not a great MH fan; I just like some of their albums. (No Sleep till Hammersmith, Overkill, A P D, Bad Magic)
The vast majority of this discography was recently a first listen for me. 22. March or Die 21. Rock 'n' Roll 20. Snake Bite Love 19. The World is Yours 18. Hammered 17. We Are Motorhead 16. Motorhead 15. Sacrifice 14. Kiss of Death 13. Bad Magic 12. Inferno 11. Iron Fist 10. Aftershock 9. Ace of Spades 8. Bomber 7. Motorizer 6. Orgasmatron 5. Overnight Sensation 4. Bastards 3. Another Perfect Day 2. 1916 1. Overkill
It’s a very big discography , hard to know it all ! That’s a solid Top 10 you got there , thanks for sharing your ranking ! Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan
Really enjoyed this one. They're such a consistent band it's hard to rank them so good to hear your thoughts on each album and good to see another perfect day up there, it has some killer songs on it. Inferno onwards I think the production is great. Even though they're one of my favourite bands I'm still missing 5 of their albums. however I can probably give you a top 5 so far... 1. Inferno 2. 1916 3. orgasmatron 4. the world is yours 5. ace of spades. Have to put we are motorhead, bastards and another perfect day up there as well.
Thanks Grant ! Consistent is a great word to describe Motörhead , you definitely know what your getting with these guys ! Thanks for sharing your Top 5 to 8 ! Hope you grab the other ones you need , you’ll find some great songs on all of them ! Have a great weekend 🤘 Stay Safe
I was there back in 1979, watching people freak out about Overkill, both the cover and the music. It was "metal", the real thing, violent, ominous, relentless, much more than Judas priest. This lasted until Orgasmatron.
Excellent ranking video, I watched the entire video Darcy lol. I've seen tons of Motörhead ranking videos and asides from your top 5 everyone else ranks these albums very differently. The only ones I don't have are Overnight Sensation and March or Die. In regards to a Top 6 I'd have Bad Magic in there even though his voice is tired, but that album has great production and is kinda bluesy. Bastards gets overlooked a lot and is way harder to find in the wild than almost any other of their records for some reason. Got any live albums? No sleep til Hammersmith is wicked. Cheers Darcy!!
Do you mean people skip skip through videos , does that really happen 🤣 Anyways , thank you for sticking it out ! Bastards is a top notch album , should not be overlooked ! I’m working on my Motörhead live collection , they have a few that come with DVDs , I enjoy those ! Thanks as always Steve 🤘 Have a great weekend , get that BBQ fired up !!
Awesome job, as always Darcy. Must have been one hell of a job. I got into Motorhead through bastards, back when it was released in 1993. What a heavy album that is 🤘. I currently own most of their catalogue but am still behind on a few. Hope to complete my collection within this year. Have a great weekend 🍻.
Thanks my friend 🤘 always appreciated ! Bastards is a great entry point to the mighty Motörhead , they sure brought the heavy on that one ! Good luck completing your collection ! Take care as always 🍻
You did a super job with this one Darcy. Excellent choices in your top three. I want to share some live shows that you may appreciate. I saw Motorhead twice. The first was on the Blizzard of Oz Tour at the Orpheum in Boston in May of 1981. Great show. I also saw them at a club called The Paradise in Boston in 1983. That was a dynamite night. It was a long show. I also saw Fast Eddie when he was playing with Fastway. I saw them in 1983 or 84 as a backup to Iron Maiden at the Cape Cod Coliseum. It was a classic venue for endless summer shows. It was basically a hockey rink with benches on the side for seating. Always general admission and it was hot as hell in there. Coney Hatch went on first. Followed by Fastway. Maiden closed the show. An arena of metal heads. I felt right at home. Have a great weekend Darcy. Well done brother~ Rob/Boston
Thanks very much & thanks for sharing those concert experiences , I love hearing about them , so cool you got to see Ozzy & Motörhead all in one evening ! Nice to hear Coney Hatch get a mention here , great Canadian band ! Hope you have a great weekend too my friend 🍻 Cheers Rob

Great ranking, although we only had S/T on the same place! Like you said, there is no bad Motörhead album, and most of the albums can easily switch place on daily basis. Take care!🤘
That was cool because a young metalhead ( Bryce talks metal) and a tiny little bit older rocker (you) did a Motorhead ranking the same day. Nice to compare. Orgasmatron is ranked very differently. My number one is clearly Another perfect day. The first new Motorhead album I bought was the Hammersmith live album in the early 80s.From the later albums Aftershock is the one I like the most. It has a lot of early Motorhead influences (On parole or Bomber). Works fine with the more modern songs. The very heavy albums like Sacrafice and Inferno are not for me. Well done ranking Darcy !
Bit older rocker 🤣 ah shit that’s funny , your too nice , I am old(er) yes ! Bryce has a great channel , he definitely knows his metal & hard rock ! Good to hear your #1 is Another Perfect Day , damn I love that album ! Thanks as always my friend ♠️
My top 5 was the same but different order - orgasmatron - another perfect day - ace of spade - bomber - overkill - really njoyed the ranking darcy - i seen motorhead on the another perfect day tour in 83 and orgasmatron tour at donington 86 - gr8 gigs - glad u met lemmy - sadly i never met him
Thanks William , I’m glad you enjoyed it & thanks for sharing your Top 5 ! So cool that you saw them live on two on those tours , definitely two of my favourite albums ! Cheers ♠️
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 thanks darcy - seen them seven times over the years - always a gr8 night - keep up the gr8 work - your passion for the music is inspiring
My favorite Motorhead album has gotta be Bomber. So many good memories with that album. The title track is not only my favorite Motorhead song, but that riff... One of my favorite riffs ever. I know March or Die is usually ranked lower for most people, but that might be my second favorite album. It was the first CD along with Maiden's Piece of Mind that I bought with my own money. So it definitely holds a special place in my heart. As for my least favorite Motorhead album... that's a hard one. I dig em all, but on most days I would probably go with Hammered. Still a rock solid album in my opinion. Rest in peace Lemmy🤘
Wow - that must have been a challenge, such a big catalogue. That too three sounds about right, I might have had in a slightly different order. I remember seeing Motörhead live in Germany at Wacken Open Air when Lemmy was sick. He did his best to play for the 75K fans but he just couldn’t do it. He had to stop after a couple songs, he didn’t have the strength to be out there. Very sad to see.
It was a fun challenge lol . That’s to bad Lemmy couldn’t continue that Wacken show , I know he would of gave it his all ! Yeah I love those Top 3 , any order is good with me ! Cheers Billy ♠️
Ive seen em live 3 times I'd recommend people wanting to get into motörhead to listen to a best of Motörheads music can be unapologetically in your face and heavy but if you take time to listen to them they have some deep and different songs like 1916 One more fcuking time Don't let daddy kiss me I don't believe a word My favourite era is the 80s , all very good albums and some classics They kinda got in a rut in the 90s to me with a lot of fairly average albums Don't sleep on the 2000 - 2015 albums, really heavy and some of their best work especially songs like Crooked mile Brotherhood of man God was never on your side When the sky comes looking for you Heroes Motörhead released some great classic and influential albums , never really made a bad album but I'm not a big fan of their 90s output
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Cheers and You. Was thinking it would be quite neat to make a sort of collage type thing out of the hype stickers on albums and put them in a frame or something. Anyway all tbe best 🤘👍

That’s too funny , I was just pre-ordering Motörhead’s new live album as your message popped up , ah shit that’s cool ♠️ Lemmy’s got his eye on us lol .
Just finished reading Lemmy’s auto bio White Line Fever, great book! I enjoyed your video. RIP Lemmy

Great job with this ranking! It’s so tough with Motörhead because the catalog is so strong!
Thanks very much Mark ! It was a tough fun lol . Thanks for watching ♠️ Take care ~ Darcy
only one word : LEGENDS i saw motorhead in concert in Brescia in Italy in 1982 to support the album Iron Fist
I remember the crazy volume and the people going crazy, an amazing thing. in Italy at that time several groups played and I was then fifteen in 1982 and I was lucky to be able to attend several of these concerts,
after the motorhead concert i had my ears ringing for a week
I have maybe half their catalogue but believe you me I'm ordering every single albums asap. Just love them .
This was a huge undertaking mate, so well done! I’m not a massive Motörhead fan but do own around 5 albums which I do enjoy. Bomber, ace of spades and orgasmatron being a few of them. Cheers Darcy!

Epic list! I'm buying more Motorhead albums after getting the INSANE AWESOME Ace of Spades Box Set. Your list is so helpful thank you!

Great video as always. My first two Motorhead albums were 1916 and Bomber. So I usually always reach first for those two albums.
Ha! Finally, you did it!! Okay,I start watching, curious to see your pick for the number one!

My favourite 3 Motörhead albums:
1. 1916
“Make My Day“ is perhaps one of Motörhead’s best songs nobody talks about.
The lyrics “I make love to mountain lions” in I’m So Bad pretty much sums up Lemmy - who else could say that.
One of the best metal ballads in “Love Me Forever”
All due respect to Snaggletooth but 1916 may be one of their best album covers.
2. Bastards
Motörhead moves into thrash territory with “Burner”
A blazing return to form after the mis-step that was March or Die
3. Overkill
Not a single filler song in the album
According to some, the inception of the double bass was first heard on the title track by Phil Taylor. Enough said.
Stay heavy Bro!
Cozy Powell was doing the double bass thing on Rainbow Rising in 76, listen to A Light In The Black.
I haven’t heard every Motörhead album, but really enjoyed hearing your ranking! What a thrill it must’ve been to meet them!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🍻
Oh man there is enough Motörhead to keep you going for years lol . It sure was a thrill meeting the guys , it was one of those “ did this just happened “ moments ! Cheers my friend 🤘 Keep It Heavy
Great ranking. I agree with you. How cool that you met the band 🤘🍻
Oh man I still remember how excited I was , I’m like what are the chances lol . Thanks as always 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Yay ! Darcy finally does it, the Motorhead ranking good man
Haha hope you enjoy ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘

Thanks very much ! There will never be another true rocker like Lemmy in my time ♠️ Stay Clean

Hey Darcy!
So consistent, any album you bought you knew what you were going to get
Motörhead one of the earlier metal bands I got into on Bomber then Ace of Spades. The video got a tonne of play on a 70’s/80’s music show in Australia called Countdown. Very tricky discography to rank
Bomber Overkill Orgasmatron Iron Fist Another Perfect Day Bastards Inferno 1916 Ace of Spades would be my favourites in that order
Excellent video Darcy
You hit the nail on head , you always new what you were going to get with Motörhead & that’s good with me ! Great list Chris , those are 9 great albums ! Thanks for hanging out , always appreciated ! Take care ~ Darcy ♠️
Great ranking Darcy! Love Motörhead! Very hard to rank their albums for me. I tend to put them in two categories: great or good.
I agree , not many weak ones in their discography ! Thanks as always 🤘 Take care Joe
Been waiting for this
Well I hope I don’t let you down 😉
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 very tough to rank these guys..I'm a huge fan and own everything they put out but I would have a tough time knowing which song is on which album accept for the classics..very enjoyable video tho.. thanks for posting it🤘
Your welcome & thank you for watching !
22.Snake Bite Love
21.We Are Motorhead
20.Aftershock
19.Kiss of Death
18.Another Perfect Day
17.March or Die
16.Overkill
15.Motorizer
14.Iron Fist
13.1916
12.Bastards
11.Motorhead
10.Bomber
9.The World is Yours
8.Overnight Sensation
7.Sacrifice
6.Rock N Roll
5.Bad Magic
4.Inferno
3.Ace of Spades
2.Orgasmatron
1.Hammered
As i said, no bad albums, all great albums.
I love the flag Darcy!! Gret ranking!! And you’ve earned a new subscriber.
Thanks very much & nice to meet you Alex , please stop by anytime ! Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
I haven't heard all their albums but my favorites are Overnight Sensation, orgasmatron, bomber, Overkill, and Ace of Spades.
You gotta love those bulk buys lol . Good to hear your enjoying them , definitely hard to beat those top 2 ! Cheers Jack 🤘 have a great weekend :))
Sadly only ever heard about a 3rd of those albums, cool ranking indeed, great work as usual...
My favorite song by Motorhead is "The Game"...Triple H theme,
Cheers buddy
I don’t even own that song , but I sure remember it when I used to watch WWE , a nice pay preview & a few pops lol . Cheers Frankie 🍻
😃👍
The vast majority of this discography was recently a first listen for me.
22. March or Die
21. Rock 'n' Roll
20. Snake Bite Love
19. The World is Yours
18. Hammered
17. We Are Motorhead
16. Motorhead

8. Bomber
7. Motorizer
6. Orgasmatron
5. Overnight Sensation
4. Bastards
3. Another Perfect Day
2. 1916
1 - Ace of Spades
2 - Overkill
3 - Bomber
4 - On Parole (or Motorhead)
5 - Iron Fist
Well judged Darcy.perfect chosen. I am absolutely with you. 👍😎✊🤘🤘
Thanks very much , I’m glad you enjoyed it ! Take care ~ Darcy ♠️
Damn, it must've been HARD to rank those Motorhead albums! But in the end, it was a good ranking video.
It’s fun & hard at the same time lol . Thanks as always Tony 🤘
Well done on the motorhead ranking.
Thanks very much & thanks for watching ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
Well done brother~
Rob/Boston
Thanks very much & thanks for sharing those concert experiences , I love hearing about them , so cool you got to see Ozzy & Motörhead all in one evening ! Nice to hear Coney Hatch get a mention here , great Canadian band ! Hope you have a great weekend too my friend 🍻 Cheers Rob
Great program 👍!

Good to see Orgasmatron near the top! Great list, thanks for sharing ♠️ Cheers from Canada
Top 5 in no order
Motoriser
Bomber
Every perfect day
Inferno
Orgasmatron
Great ranking, although we only had S/T on the same place! Like you said, there is no bad Motörhead album, and most of the albums can easily switch place on daily basis. Take care!🤘
Thanks Nik ! Yeah I don’t think you’ll ever see someone with the same Motörhead ranking , too many variables lol . Cheers my friend 🤘 Stay Heavy
Ive seen em live 3 times
I'd recommend people wanting to get into motörhead to listen to a best of
Motörheads music can be unapologetically in your face and heavy but if you take time to listen to them they have some deep and different songs like
1916
One more fcuking time
Don't let daddy kiss me
I don't believe a word
My favourite era is the 80s , all very good albums and some classics
They kinda got in a rut in the 90s to me with a lot of fairly average albums
Don't sleep on the 2000 - 2015 albums, really heavy and some of their best work especially songs like
Crooked mile
Brotherhood of man
God was never on your side
When the sky comes looking for you
Heroes
Motörhead released some great classic and influential albums , never really made a bad album but I'm not a big fan of their 90s output
How cool is the motorhead logo!.Great Ranking show Darcy. Personally I'd have the debut higher up. Stay cool 😎🤘👍
Thanks my friend ! The debut was the last to make my collection , maybe it will move up the ladder over time ! Have a great weekend 🤘 Stay Heavy
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Cheers and You. Was thinking it would be quite neat to make a sort of collage type thing out of the hype stickers on albums and put them in a frame or something. Anyway all tbe best 🤘👍
