4:30 On console you use the right analog stick to switch between the body parts in V.A.T.S.
But strangely you have to move the stick to the left and right to switch between the parts, moving it up and down does nothing.
Some people don't know that and think the perk card is not working.
My build:
PA Tank (Excavator for convenience)
Weapon: [AA Bashing] Shredder Minigun (third effect is bad, FMS when aiming but I'm keeping it until I roll one with a better third Legendary effect)
Perks: Heavy Gunner(all), Basher, Radicool, Tenderizer, Stavilized, Action Boy, Adrenaline, One Guy Army. You don't want to use Incisor bc it doesn't affect the Minigun with Shredder mod.
I run no mutations.
All PA Legendary perks (Power Armor Reboot, Power Sprinter, Electric Absorbtion. Latter very usefull against Aliens and some robots/Super Mutants because you gain passive health regen and your FC recharges whenever you get hit by energy guns)
I just started playing 76 a few weeks ago and this whole time I thought the double shot was my mouse button going bad haha

I'm level 82 and I see people just tear apart enemies while I am just doing a very small amount of damage with my explosive rifle, thats because I never knew any of this
Great video anr very informative for new players. You mentioned vats. And I just want to throw something out there as a bloodied vats crit commando. I'm not sure who it is so I can't properly give credit but someone ran the numbers and (regardless of build because yes you can vats a gatling plasma - I've done it) you get up to 12 times more damage using vats than aiming down sights.
I know that might not be everyone's thing but if you are looking to maximize damage and haven't tried vats. I highly recommend you check it out 😊
Utilizing that "double shot" glitch, managing my perks like in this video, and upgrading my plasma caster with a prime receiver lets me 1 or 2 shot most enemies. Plus by the end of a daily op i end up looting over +1000 ultracite plasma rounds.
Thank you for this! I dislike bloody builds and all I have seen is bloody build is the only way to play 🙄 being only lvl 30, I know I have a long way to go but I love vats/ stealth builds. I take my time going through a building looking at the gun holes that ripped the life from the skeleton in the corner. So many people just rush to endgame and forget to enjoy the game.

If your slow n methodical sniper is prolly the way you want to go and get all the stealth bonuses in the agility tree. Instigating(more dmg on full hp target) is a great legendary effect for that.
Dito. 3K+ hours on FO4, now at FO76 lv 87 with a sniper rifle, pistol and no power armor. Hard work but worth it.
I use a junkies crit build. I shred end game
Good tips. Won't use animation cancelling though, never will.
I think knowing which build supports your playstyle is more important, some people prefer sniping, some like blowing things up or tearing through enemies, others like to do massive damage with their fists. Also when playing with friends its important to help each other out. Im a bloodied stealth axe saw/melee build but I help my gun homies out by helping craft ammo for them or donating them my ammo I yoink off bodies. ❤
On ps five the buttons are L1 for VATS and the right stick to switch body parts

Great guide. Once I get back into Fallout 76 building up damage is important so I can avoid using bloody builds.
Happy to help out, i noticed people are very 50/50 on bloodied builds
Bloodied is best to farm scoreboard..after that you dont need that..
I like the fixer with the Chinese stealth armor

Tenderizer stacks up to 4 times if you share it with a full team focusing the same target. Very nice for nuke bosses. 9+ Charisma on a team with friends feels like cheating some times. I swap Inspirational out for events with bullet sponges.
W advice
The reason each weapon class has theee cards is because it gives u build versatility, u can use NINE perk points for 60% dam or just spend THREE for 30% or half as much but 1/3 the perk points. What do you think ?
It’d be cool if they made the magazine capacity consistent with what we saw for the guns from FO4. 😒

Just a quick one… if I roll 3 legendary perks on a weapon and 2 of them are good and one bad.. can I re roll just the bad perk to try and improve it or do I have to re roll all 3 perks until I’m satisfied ? Thanks !

So just to make sure if my shotgun has explosive rounds, it will only get the damage bonus from the explosive perk? And will the perk that increases explosive radius also work for bullets?
Correct, but the shotgun perks will still boost the gun, the explosive will just double dip for more damage

I do too. Just got a tse Gatling and love it. But man it would be so much better higher fire rate.
What I really need to know is how to get meta stuff.
Like I'm not a kid, I understand that one doesn't need to stick to the meta in order to be effective in the game. But it's always people who already *have* the meta stuff that say that because they don't seem to understand that having access to the meta is the platform from which one branches out and experiments.
If I'm level 50 and my build consists of a bunch of every single Disease Resist perk cards, there's no experimenting to be done there. It's a garbage build that can be replaced by simply carrying some fresh food and purified water, or simply getting access to a disease removal thingy. *understanding* the meta is done by *experiencing* it, which means one needs access, which means one needs to be able to actually *get* the meta stuff so you have a stable foundation from which to start playing at the edges.
There are basically 3 ways to get meta stuff. Luck, crafting and trading.
The best way in my opinion to get meta stuff is through legendary crafting. RNG might be annoying but you dont need a godroll as your first gun. A quad railway or bloodied something else is already enough to get you close. The 2nd and 3rd star are for perfection.
The economy might look somewhat cooked so trading might not be appealing at first but i would recommend to get involved. Sought after godrolls wont be purchaseable with caps but alternative currencies however not perfect rolls often are.
And Luck explains itself I guess but you might be able to force it a little bit by hunting events like eviction notice or grinding most sensational game

Vendor hopping is my go to.
I've found some of my best buys in player vendors.
From a qe15 fixer yesterday to God roll armour the day before.
Yeah it's slightly time consuming but it's definitely worth it.
You first of all need to learn what your build defines as meta.
If you're a rifleman/semi-auto build, a railway rifle isn't meta, because a Gauss rifle is better.
If you're a commando/automatic build, it is, because dps is what you're looking for.
Your legendary effects also depends on your build. Explosive is of limited use unless you've got demolitions and grenadier maxed, whereas aristocrats is of limited use if you don't have at least 30,000 caps.
And you can't just buy this stuff. You have to grind for it (unless you go to the sites that people sell stuff for real money... In which case, all I can say is "where's your goddamn self-respect? This is not a hard game").
If you double shot with 1 ammo you get a free shot which isnt super effective but it is fun to fire 4 mini nukes out of a double shot fatman

You Exchange Legendary Weapons/Armor at the Rusty Pick (Scrip Machine) Then go to the vender right there inside the Rusty Pick and Exchange Scrip for Modules - 50 Scrip for each Module...

My biggest problem with this game is the unmanageable carry weight. Almost all of my perk cards are going into that problem. So much of my play time has been the backpack quest nonsense. My damage output and resistance are pathetic. There are so many obvious perks that could fix these issues, but I have no room for them. Not to mention the limited stash weight too. It's an artificial limitation and it ruins the gameplay experience.
We all struggle with it. Most of us run 2 carry weight perks or 1 with a upgraded backpack mod. Chems are notoriously heavy. Certain ammos are terrible as well.

Do the excavator quest. That PA gives +100 carry weight. If you grab calibrated shocks for both legs then you get another 100.

Bro I keep seeing videos of mfs with cold shoulders and combat shotguns that do 39x8 damage I have everything your talking about all perks and attatchments but my combat shotgun won't go past 23x8 and my cold shoulder won't go past 29x8

I think they nerfed vats , it was accurate af but now....its horribly bad.
V.A.T.S really only shines with unyielding armor builds. Having 40+ agility and perception allows you to shoot more than 5 bullets without losing all your AP.
Actual Lie, literally any pistol (auto esp), reflex site and quick mag on some rifles, and the railway rifle exists.

@@RPGandFPS I don't use unyielding armor, just apply automatic to the weapon and max out agility, you know, one of the main specials you'd put points into for a VATS build? I've never run out of AP with it. Even if I did, I wouldn't have to worry about anything as it'd have killed everything by then, esp with crits.

Good video , hopefully I can stop server hopping cause these new level 100- 170 players got some weak ass builds that cause us high levels the invader beyond event , it’s ridiculous the amount of times I had to change servers because of the low level noobs its an invasion of noobs
