    Nice motor and I think adding shock absorbers to the suspension would be nice too.

    It is much nicer if you take sandpaper and apply varnish.

    To get 4x4 in my D12 I took the final drive gear and shaft turned the gear around on the shaft and put it in place of the final drive gear and shaft of the D12 made a couple cuts in the chassis and installed the front end of the 4x4 into the d12 along with the rear drive shaft of another D12 to hook the secondary shaft I created to the new front end and it worked just fine. I removed the power switch and hollowed out the end of the frame there and took the wings off of the original servo then slid it in between the frame rails in front with some hot glue and a wedge it stays in place good enough to hook it to the 4x4 front for steering. I am still using the original D12 receiver So I have the high and lower powers. I used some computer board stand-offs to give the D12 a nice body lift and installed the big tires off of the C24.

    Thats a good idea, using the gearbox as transfer box. Well done! Them WPL gearboxes and diffs are quite handy. I've done a couple of Bruder 1:16 truck conversions for my kids with them, even with the stock 130 motor have some pull. Made a semi trailer too and still no problem pulling.

    Nice mods you've done here. I have the WPL B-24. I don't know enough about steering servos to know which one to buy to replace the on-off steering servo in it . Any ideas what might fit relatively easy? Maybe the Traxxis you got?

      Try wpl servo on banggood had been good servo for me. Buy kit next time then u can order paprotional electronics. Rtr electronics are not that good.

    Interesting mod. I’ve got a gear reducer for a 540 motor plane that looks like that. It’s too big for this application though. How have the axles held up to the additional power?

      Something like this but for a 540. www.ebay.com/itm/122838180159?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true

    I've been looking at these on BangGood for a couple of weeks now... Checked GearBest last night and they have the kit version on sale for $33 US!!! Didn't have the hours at work this week to afford to get it... Dang! If you don't mind, I have a few questions..... I'm FAR from being a RC newbie by the way... I'm 32 and been into EVERYTHING RC since I was bout 6... a Tamiya Blitzer Beetle was my first real RC when I was 7 followed by a Associated RC10GT a couple months later...I have a Dremel tool and know how to use it, micro soldering is somewhat of a speciality of mine and I'm not afraid to make custom engineered parts... In fact, that's part of the reason I like making Wal-Mart RC toys custom awesomeness! So, being said, Q & A if I may.... #1, how much has the more powerful motor accelerated wear on the drive line? My concern is in the ring and pinion gears in the front and rear axles... Have they developed more play since you purchased the truck? Are their any ring and pinion upgrade gears available for any other vehicles out there that can be retrofitted or a mod to reduce slack? #2, Ball Bearings!!! Haven't heard anybody mention upgrading the axles and the transmission to bearings instead of bushings... If you have any knowledge of how and what sizes I will need can you please let me know! #3, I will research this video for details but, is there any mods for pinion and spur gears after the Big Block upgrade? The spur gear looks a little thin and flimsy from pictures I've seen. What is the appropriate gear tooth sizing? 64 pitch, 48 pitch, ect? What diameter/tooth spur do you recommend? #4, any tire upgrades or are the softer compound ones that come with the kit version good to go? #5, is there any way to upgrade the front axle output yokes/cv joints/dog bones? I WILL put at least a 370 size motor in it if not a small 370, 1200Kv brushless outrunner geared about 1:1 for MASSIVE torque and 45+ minute runtimes on a 1500mah 30C 2 cell LiPo pack... So, all that being said, the drive line and u-joints are gonna need to be as bullet proof as can possibly be! Last question brother... is the steering servo a standard micro servo size? I've always wanted a small TRUE 4x4 RC rig... With real front end, rear end and center mounted transmission and motor... I can't afford $300 for a scale rig and don't want a funky looking rock crawler style thing... I'm tired of stupid cheap truck with a motor on the front axle and on in the rear! Please let me know your thoughts if you don't mind... I've got thousands of parts and what-not waiting for a Redneck engineered home. Sorry for writing a novel brothers... This little dude has sparked MUCH intrigue and I can't wait till my check gets deposited next Friday so I can get one ordered. Thanks again for any suggestions. I'll definitely post videos on my TH-cam channel as I go along with the build... Speaking of which, check out some of my videos if you get a chance... JonnyBbaby5150..... their not much but will give you guys an idea of what I go for. Looking forward to hearing from y'all with inspiring news! God speed

      R.C. Journey I am planning on getting the kit version... I have radio equipment, batteries and everything to make this little dude into a trail-wrecking beast! I have used brushless outrunners several Times in the past to reduce the need for extra low gearing... upon thinking about it, I think a cheap 370 outrunner probably about 800Kv or so hooked directly in line with the top shaft like you did your custom motor mount and gear reduction drive on the military truck would probably do perfect. Great low end torque and the cogging effect of the outrunner coasting will be like a drag brake... what do you think? Make an adapter from I think 3mm down to whatever the input shalt diameter is since you beefed it up. I've got a Helion Animus 1/18 short course truck I made a custom 48 pitch spur for and loaded a freaking 2215 2700Kv outrunner from a old totaled Align Trex 450 3D helicopter... On 2 cells it's way faster than stock. 3 cells it stands up on the rear bumper... and 4 cells... Well, it demolished the center drive shaft for the 4x4 and totally destroyed ALL the gears in the differentials! So, rear wheel drive with a super glued locker!

      R.C. Journey and if all else failed, I'll make a 2:1 custom gear reduction drive for the outrunner like you did... to help take away the lag/sensorless "bounce" back and forth to get spinning under a load from a dead stop(can be an issue, why brushless crawlers usually have sensored systems in them) What do I need to search on Facebook to find yalls WPL Crawler Community? Send me a private message with your profile name and I'll shoot you a friend request real quick...

      Yes mods are available bearings metal gears u name it. Plastic gears are not going to last in any of the wpl models.

    that is pretty sweet. I have fought the urge to get one of these due to the toyish electronics and such but you make me want to get one now. I have so many other projects right now i dont know if i want to jump into another one. Great job!

    Its a crap. No need to mode like that.. theres a 2 speed gearbox you can put on it. Or a 2 motor upgrade lots of power and no need to replace a big motor like that

      Was no parts available at time of video. Many upgrades are out now. Was only person to do this. Working on big block V2. I will continue to mod.

      @Xmod Evo: Don't be so negative and dismissive. He made something with whatever is available on hand. Everyone can do a mod with parts ordered from China or whatever, how many can build something from scratch? Show us what you've build?? I'm sick to the teeth from critics like you. Have a bit of a respect...

    • @howardalteisen2281
      @howardalteisen2281 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrHristoB oh common but still you dont need to put a larger motor on it. That is why i called it a crap. You can do mod on motor or change it into a powerful motor with a same size
