I am very very sorry that so many genius artists of this historic movie are no more with us. In 1975 this movie released . First time in India this movie was 70mm screen and stereophonic sound adopted . That also released in some assorted cinema halls. Right from the beginning all the 3 / 4 shows found houseful. After a prolonged waiting on 25th week got ticket. The ticket price was only Rs.15/- at Elite Cinema hall in central Kolkata.. At this age of 63 I am still cherish all those golden days.
The best part about this movie is that everything in it is iconic. It has many first to it's name such as it was shot for 70mm screen, stereophonic sound by which you can even hear the cracking sound of Gabbar Singh's shoes as he walks on the hard rock surface and it's actors were used in merchandising goods such as talcum powder, biscuits, home appliances and what not. For us the movie Sholay is like a holy book in hindi cinema.

Amjad khan's debut film. He looks very confident. In reality, he was so nervous he would stutter and forget lines even after 14 takes. It happened several times. He nearly gave up. A prominent actor who suggested his name to director Ramesh Sippy (incident ly his friend) forced to suggest to drop Amjad from film. But Ramesh Sippy had a gut feeling Amjad Khan would do justice to the role He gave enough time to Amjad Khan, inspite of adverse remarks from his unit. Remember that Sholay is ambitious and big budget with super stars. More important that was Ramesh Sippy's directorial debut. He took very risky decision and allow ed full freedom to Amjad Khan to enact the decoit character differently than the run the mill. Thus Ramesh Sippy also be given credit to his intuition and making such epoch film.

I think no one can make movie like Sholay. It really too good. We all know it's dialogue till today. All of them have done their role so good. Sholay was an epic movie. Still we feel like seeing the movie. Music was done by RD Burman and Mehbooba mehbooba song was sung by him.
