  • Aren't Dolmens those lettuce wrap looking things at a Middle Eastern Restaurant? Nope! A Dolmen is a megalithic monument that ancient people erected out of huge stones. They are found from England to Japan, and everywhere in between. In this episode we'll talk about the Dolmens found at Tall el-Hammam.

In Korea, 40% of the world dolmen is here. Nobody knows why so many dolmens are located especially in this peninsula. If someone knows the proper reason please let me know.
It is really common here, just 1 hr drive enough from everywhere. Then you can find it.
And Dolmen is tomb. It was build so long time ago so it is difficult to get well preserved artifact, but sometimes there are some meaningful evidence comes out. As far as know, it is a tomb of the powerful guy and family.

@17:45 egyptian pharaoh at request of joseph had jacob's body in a funeral procession taken to canaan; i didn't know jacob's funeral procession stopped by tall el-hammam; Dr. Collins says maybe laid jacob was laid on a dolmen for 7 days of people mourning.
    interesting.
i see some online saying hyksos conquering egypt was by people from anatolia or black sea area, not canaan. this is because the chariots are from the black sea area orginially; hence, these people conquered egypt. so was it canaan or black sea area?
Dr. Collins is this true? anybody?

Any ideas about Abraham birthplace? The standard view says Ur of the Chaldeans in southern Mesopotamia (Irak), but I have heard of other traditions (Flavius Josephus, Maimonides) wich locate it in ancient Edessa (Urfa, Turkey), just some miles north from the biblical Harran. And I find it fascinating that just in the same area there is Gobleki Tepe, an enormous megalithic site dated around 10.000 BC.

i thought that possibility so i looked up online what is in the bible. it did not actually say abraham was born in Ur of the chaladeans. people online may have been mistaken on his birthplace, but still correct. maybe Dr. Collins has an answer.
      bible:
genesis11:27 This is the account of Terah’s family line.
Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot. 28 While his father Terah was still alive, >>>>> Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth. your country > set out from Harran.
