You know I’ve always wanted this player Gil. If a fair deal can be made--I’d salivate seeing Barzie, Bo and Laine. His mental health? We’ve always had a history of a good solid clubhouse that gets along and is supportive. The Island is beautiful if you have the resources! That combination of a good positive and tight knit clubhouse and a great place to live? Playing with Bo and Barzie? Well the kid may just light up the lamp and finally become a well rounded and adjusted young man. It’s just my take and I’d love to have him. I feel if Laine becomes an Islander, we will make noise. However, need to get an enforcer and the waiver wire the week prior is the place to get one. We need to dump salary either way. Take care Gil!!
The Isles do have a supportive clubhouse and that could be helpful to Laine. The tough thing is dumping enough salary to fit him under the cap. The Islanders current Roster gives Patrick Roy great flexibility, which means he can do some serious line changes. I wouldn’t touch Liane period. He is damaged goods! Winnpeg’s toxic locker-room destroyed this kid. He just isn’t strong enough physically or mentally to overcome his negative experiences in the NHL. I don’t see a market for him at that AAV. Maybe Washington they seem to be bringing in underperforming players. When it doesn’t work they are going to have a hell of a mess on their hands. 8 is done also! Liane is also immature and that’s never going to change.

And this stubborn old louzer gm is content with his middling run it back team and can't do shit with no cap room or assets. Stubborn old gm rather shove the square peg into the round hole than get creative to try and fill a big eyesore up front and keeps an unproductive 26 for cheap because he has no better options. 26, a career 36 goal scorer, instead of a proven multi 30 goal scorer with a career high 44 g season who can score on pp and is a lw, the big eyesore up front on isles. Yeah that makes sense. 44, 26 and a second for laine and bj's with plenty of cap space retain $3.5 mil. with both 44 and laine two seasons left on their deals to make $$$'s work. And the cap-isles are $88 mil. currently, the cap max with 22 players signed. 5th highest cap max in nhl. No cap maneuverability to do shit until 44 or 27 somehow disappear. And isles have 13, 14, 18, 3, 6, 24, 30, all signed for 5-8 seasons. Plus 3-4 for 53, 40, and duclair. Plus the two 2 seasons albatross contracts that remain. And 8, 28 will need new deals after next season. Only cap relief unless re-signed is 21, 29 deals that expire after next season. For a middling team that can barely scratch the playoff surface that is just horrible cap management-to have that many long term deals and no cap relief to do anything. For that cap spending isles should be a contender that can make a long playoff run, not a team that gets last w c spot and quick playoff exit. So NO isles bang for the $ cap is just horrible. Meanwhile cup contenders like av's, laffs, stars, rags, even b's have more cap space than isles do. Cup champ fla. and tb are just a tad under isles as well. Just pathetic use of cap space by louzer. I don't think the Jackets would go for that. it would take a draft pick just to trade Lee at this point. A first round pick with someone else or multiple picks maybe get;s it done. Wahly isn't worth much either anymore.
