Clay Miller This!!! I believe that having SOME smart home automation is cool. He literally asked his sink to poor him a cup of water, because it was to hard to do it yourself. But yes, extremely unnecessary & a complete and total waste of money...
I also think it’s cool, but I don’t think I’d feel safe. Like if someone hacks that system, you’re done. Like they have full control. I’d consider it if it wasn’t of risk of being hacked.
Tristan Albertson Agreed. If it wasn’t connected to his phone and it was a closed-loop system, I wouldn’t be too worried, but since its obviously all cloud there is a major concern. @@kone8258 The firewall for the server should be configured to only allow a static IP from the cloud company to talk to it (along with a complex root password). A better attack vector would be a router with internet access. I'm sure the password for the router would be impossible to brute force so you would have to first target something simple like a light bulb. Some smart devices store the router's password in plaintext. One issue with this method is that you would have to be in close vicinity to the house and I'm sure you'd be tackled to the ground before you even step foot anywhere near the front door. Another method may be malware, sending an executable to either a phone or a computer in the hopes of Lincon wanting free VBucks and opening an email attachement. This will give us access to the computer and from there, we can connect to the server and do whatever it is that we'd want to do. One of the pros of this method is that you can do it remotely, provided that you know the email address of somebody that uses a computer in the house. Keep in mind, this is all hypothetical and I have no clue what type of access points, smart devices, etc. are in the house.

GeekPR-1977 One f#ck up and the hackers are in🤣🤣
@@rayvulders its actually pretty easy. I connect a modified femtocell on the outside of the house and from a close location I put up a high power antenna or a made in home type antenna from a lays can , from there I brute force my way into the house and own the damn network. Not to mention the different ways I can get in through their email by phishing them into clicking a link and owning their computer which would lead me to the network or social engineer a call from their internet provider and let them give me their information on their own like the wifi password, although this takes a lot more skills. I am ethical hacker however and would not risk my career and lifestyle for some random people i dont know or care for. I also dont encourage anyone to try this, as it can lead to prison and other penalties. For educational purposes only.

Nobody gonna talk about how the kid legit has a camera in his room??
He'll never be able to watch his "special movies".
That's not his room it's their office
Pranav Beeharry but why would he game in the office instead of having his PC in his bedroom
Jack Mcgee I’d much have a pc elsewhere in my house than my bedroom. Bedroom should be place to sleep. Hence why some people dont even have a tv in their room. Its a sense of not being depressed of staying in your room all day. *I read it once somewhere but don’t remember where*

2020: we have speakers inside our walls 2050: Our whole house is a giant speaker
Love my smart home, took time to get used to everything but now I catch myself being other places and trying to do things via voice lol. He was very excited about gigabyte internet. Seems pretty normal nowadays. I do like those speakers, next house.
Congrats guys on building your dream home, hope your doing ok during this tough time. Keep up the great vids :)
Noah VLOGS 99 dude of course they are doing fine they live in a huge mansion with literally everything anyone could ever want
Daniel yes but one of them might be ill or something
Daniel money doesn’t solve everything
Ohh!! Finally a positive comment
MR. GROOVY. Thx
Yea it’s cool... but the only word that comes to mind when watching this is: unnecessary.
Clay Miller This!!! I believe that having SOME smart home automation is cool. (Google Home, Chromecast & Switch enabled lighting) but living in that house will never truly feel like a home... even when he was sitting in the kitchen, it wasn’t home.
Although the pranks you could pull with tech like that......
Also the camera’s zooming feature, when Dan demoed it he literally just created a blind spot where the other guy was standing. Doesn’t make too much sense
there’s people starving because they wanted to spend money on this instead
@@nickl8461 i never understood the concept of your statement. I've heard people make nonsense statements like this. And yet i never really understood the logic of such an idiotic comment. Trying to bridge apples and oranges man. Maybe jealousy played a part. But who knows.

There happy they got a smart house but when it comes to the electricity bill.
if they can afford that house and everything in it, the electricity bill isn’t an issue lol
do they not have solar?
im more worried about the maintenance.

We all get how "smart" their house is
I was about to go on a smart home video binge but after watching this video I've seen enough
What happens in 10-15 years when all this tech is outdated and the all the house's functions begin to fail, and can't connect to your updated phones.
Good point
You rip the walls and install the next generation system.
Renovate... or sell and let someone else deal with it
Move out and repeat
Cables should last forever (the life of the house). If it's all CAT 6, the network will be 10 Gbps capable. They will just replace components as things get upgraded or break.
Let’s fix this title: how to know where stuff is when you rob me
brisket12 hey Arthur
but the cameras
@@rainnants Cameras don't stop robberies, they just deter petty thieves & aid in the identification of who did it.

If you're smart enough to disable security tech and computerised systems you shouldn't be a burgler but designing the security. Why get arrested for when you can BE PAID FOR IT.
Imagine some one hacked his house he will make them crazy like turn the lights off and on all the time and switching music every 3 second and more 😂😂😂
Or open their frontdoor.
And the garage.
Clint definitely has the setup w/ the button that turns the disco lights on and plays “bow chinka wow wow” music. 😆

As much as I love how cool all of this technology inside their house, and it is their house and their choice, I do find it kind of scary how much control of their house a voice activated box has😳
Imagine having to ‘Ctrl Alt Del’ your house when everything freezes
And you can't get out
Imagine not being able get in the house be the doors battery runs out
Imagine having nothing more that a bluetooth box in your bathroom to hear music
That moment when you realize your whole house has been hacked and has a virus.
That is one of the legitimate problems. There are others. My friend’s aunt lives in a smart home, and there was a fire. The smart home locked the doors to prevent the fire spreading. She had just been in the shower when it happened, so didn’t have her key card. She was luckily able to fumble around and find it to override the locks
They have there own server system. So someone would have to find the ip address and know what system they use.
@@lengeljeff well we know what system they use, thats one down
@@lengeljeff You're saying that it is a hard task to ping an IP and then get the os, lol. If it is any version of GNU/Linux, which it will be, that would take like 2 seconds.
Criminals in Dan's house don't want the money, they want that WiFi
In finland a gigabit internet isn't even that special.
Yes, it is special but anyone living in somewhat near the city can have a unlimited internet for 60$ a month after the initial wiring payment
gigabit cost $70 from ATT. it's almost a standard now. ok maybe not a standard but very affordable
If the guy ever runs out of wire he could use his hair.
