YES! I was 10 at the time and begged my mom to vote for her, she made an exception and allowed me, so that was the first time I voted in Eurovision haha. I was so happy when she won!
The voting has changed over the years. The public can vote from home but you can’t vote for your own country and then each country gives out 12 points to who got the most public votes, 10 to the next most popular and so on. I think there is also an expert judging panel per country now who vote and that adds points. It can be quite ‘political’ with certain countries always voting for certain other countries etc. But it’s a great fun contest (if you just accept some of the weirdness!) to watch and is watched by like 180 million people around the world!
WOW! 180 million!? That is amazing!!! We were curious on the voting system, that's so interesting!!!! Definitely a sweet contest! We are so eager to see who will win this year!!!! Can't wait for more
Well the political voting actually kinda calmed down over the years, especially with how much it is looked down upon. With how much popular the contest became nowadays - only like few countries do actually still give 12s to their neighbours (this year I think Greece and Cyprus were some of the only few).
@@tktoptunes Yeh I might be wrong here but I think the current system is like this: Each country that participates have a Jury that set 12, 10 and 8-1 points. During the Voting they go to a representative of that country and it is always a glorious cringe-fest of people talking forever, having delays so they talk over each other, or having technical problems. Then after all the countries have had their Jury-votes counted they go to the tele-voting (and app-voting and similar to get the viewers). These tele-votes are equal to the total sum of all Jury-votes. So if you add up the 12,10,8-1 from every country, the same amount of points will be given based on % of total votes from viewers. So if a song get 12% of the votes, they will get 12% of the total votes from viewers. That's how some countries can get 300 points in one go.

So for example I'm from Serbia and I wanna vote, but I can't vote for Serbia because that is my country so I can choose another country to vote for. But they also have judges who judge acts based on the quality. So it's pretty fair, since both sides can vote. My favorite is, of course, 2007, because it's my own country Serbia and Marija who represented us is definitely the most powerful vocalist from Serbia ever. Also, Serbia's 2021 candidate, a girl group Hurricane, have a literal bop, it's called Loco Loco and I think it's so fun and entertaining, I really suggest you listen or even react to it! "judges who judge acts based on the quality" Although I think it's important to note that nowadays pretty much all of the "political" or industry connection (when the producers of a country's song are from another European country, happens a lot e.g. with Sweden, they tend to give better points to countries that had Swedes in the producing team) points come from the professional jury votes.

The voting system has changed over the years several times. Until 2004 there was only a final night with 20 -26 countries. After 2004 a semifinal was introduced (after 2008 even two semifinals) because so much countries wanted to participate. The number of points for the winner reflect that growth (because more countries meant more points to be awarded). Since 2010 there is a 50/50 point system with 50% of the points awarded by juries of music professionals from each country and 50% awarded by the general public (via televoting). With these kinds of videos I have like 50 comments, so here are a few: - I laughed when you said 280 was a lot. Portugal got 752, Italy got 524. The points did double from 2016 going forwards, with each country giving two sets of points (one set from the judges, and one set from the televote) - I could finish all these songs when they were muted, and I advise you to listen to them fully. - Ireland has had the most wins in total, with 7: 1970, Dana 1980, Johnny Logan 1987, Johnny Logan 1992, Linda Martin 1993, Niamh Kavanagh 1994, Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan 1996, Eimear Quinn -A lot of the winners were controversial in the last 20 years. Serbia is one of two countries that won on first entry, the other one being in the first contest ever. This was likely due to favouritism in the voting. Austria in 2014 won with a drag queen, which is not accepted everywhere in Europe, currently mainly in Poland and Hungary. Ukraine won in 2016 with a song about Russia's crimes against the people. Russia was not amused with this at all. In 2017, when the contest was held in Ukraine, the Russian artist was banned from Ukraine for complicated reasons (look it up) and had to give the first live performance from a different location in Eurovision ever. The only other time this happened was Australia this year, due to travel restrictions in the pandemic. - The voting works like this: all countries give 1-8 10 and 12 points to their favourite countries. From 1997-2009 this was done entirely by televote. From 2009-2016 the votes combined to give one set of points, from both judges and the televote. From 2016 forwards, each country gives double the points, as explained earlier. - As for the answer to your question: 2019. My favourite contest was in 2021. I'll give you three guesses why. I am so happy this is TH-cam and I can type 9999 characters here.
These songs are not in english but they are eurovision and sung in serbian, but even if you don't speak and understand the language they are beautiful to listen to: Serbia 2004 Bosnia & Herzegovina 2006 Serbia 2012 Montenegro 2015
Maybe you should react to this song, i think these are the most iconic Eurovision Songs: -Russia 2016 -Cyprus 2018 -Ukraine 2007 -Norway 2009 -Ukraine 2016 -Italy 2015 -Austria 2014 -Sweden 2012 -Turkey 2003 P.S. I Love your reactions, you guys are amazing. ❤️❤️

My favourite winning performances are Believe (2008), Fairytale (2009), Satellite (2010), Rise like a phoenix (2014), and Toy (2018). I don't mention Euphoria (2012) cos really is there any person who doesn't love it?
Something to note: in 2016 they changed the way the scores are given. So people were able to gain more points. For example, I believe that with the new system, 'Fairytale' (Norway 2009- also my personal favorite winner) would've gotten something around 775 points
The only reason I looked at Eurovision ( I’m American) is cause I found out a song I found in like 2010 from someone I’d never heard of but fell in love with was a winner. The song was fairytale. I found out like 2 years ago lol
My favourite thing in the world is watching reactions to Iceland 2019. They finished Top 10, and were even featured on the John Oliver show for certain things they did during the show and lead up 🙊🙉 (i would recommend watching their semi-final show over the grand final version because there was an audio thing that happened during the final and it doesnt sound Quite as good! The music video version is also incredible, and they usually have english translations of their lyrics as closed captions!) Also Australia 2019 is another one of the most original stage shows I’ve ever seen at Eurovision, which is saying a LOT! 😂
Lol in Austria everybody said that conchita wouldn't have a chance but she showed them that they were wrong. And I think she opened a lot of hearts in Austria just because they were so proud of her to win. 😊❤️ And I love it that Austria stood in the spotlight that time....
Not sure of anyone commented about this before, but voting system has changed a few years back, that's why there're such a difference in numbers. If used to be 100% public voting (you can give 1 to 10 and 12 points to any country but your own), but now it's 50/50 with jury votes from all competing counties. It was probably introduced as a way of balance the scales cuz we love to vote for our neighbors 😅 can't say now is much different, but still
Fun fact! Australia is also a part of Eurovision.. They really wanted to be a part of it because Eurovision is very big in Australia.. If they end up winning one year they wont be able to host it since they're not a European country 😊 I'm Danish and I really think you should check out both the danish winners.. I will say that I still remember the "Fly On The Wings Of Love" performance like it was yesterday, it was very special.. I knew it would win that year, there were just something special about it and you could feel it 🥺 We actually almost the year after but Estonia beat us with a small margin.. There were rumors that Denmark got scared about hosting it again since it would be super expensive, so Estonia ended up winning.. I don't personally think that's true, even though I thought their song was better 😊
The voting system was changed in 2017, so basically each country had twice as many points to award (jury and televote) as before, which is how Portugal ended up with nearly 600 points (it was a very popular song, too).
There are a lot of good performances and some really funny ones. If you want some taste of what you might encounter you should watch. "Love Love Peace Peace" It is a side performance from 2016. Where they sing about how to win Eurovision and everything they are incorporating in the performance has been in the Eurovision at one point. :)

I think you should definitely react to these in full. Best ones (in my opinion) are Finland in 2006, Norway in 2009 and then all the songs from 2012 onwards.
What am I saying? I love all of them ❤️❤️❤️😂🤣
My favorite Eurovision entry of all time is still Ukraine 2004. Ruslana won that year, and it was so damn epic!!
I suggest you watch the recaps of every year, and start going backwards (like the reaction you did for this year).
I love how you were so impressed by just the intro
my absolute favourite was 2006 with Lordi (Finland) and this year (2021), italy :D
Please react to Lena the winner from Germany. She was the one you liked that then cut off. She won in 2010.
By the way I love your reactions. You guys are so positive and genuine 🙂❤👏
Love you positive reaction. Such good vibes.:)
With these kinds of videos I have like 50 comments, so here are a few:
- I laughed when you said 280 was a lot. Portugal got 752, Italy got 524. The points did double from 2016 going forwards, with each country giving two sets of points (one set from the judges, and one set from the televote)
- I could finish all these songs when they were muted, and I advise you to listen to them fully.
- Ireland has had the most wins in total, with 7:
1970, Dana
1980, Johnny Logan
1987, Johnny Logan
1992, Linda Martin
1993, Niamh Kavanagh
1994, Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan
1996, Eimear Quinn
-A lot of the winners were controversial in the last 20 years.
I borned in 2005. But, love your video and your reaction so much. I enjoyed it so much. I had so much fun to watch it. Love u and stay safe. 💖
Love you, Diego!!!! Thanks for watching :)
@@tktoptunes love you too! And you're welcome! 💖
These songs are not in english but they are eurovision and sung in serbian, but even if you don't speak and understand the language they are beautiful to listen to:
Serbia 2004
Bosnia & Herzegovina 2006
Serbia 2012
Montenegro 2015
Really loving your positive energy 😍🙌
Maybe you should react to this song, i think these are the most iconic Eurovision Songs:
-Russia 2016
-Cyprus 2018
-Ukraine 2007
-Norway 2009
-Ukraine 2016
-Italy 2015

Guys Semi-final 1 was last night, you should watch ittttt
YES!!!! We will definitely! Can't wait to see their performances!!!! Thanks, Hien!
Sweden are dominant in Eurovision. 6 Wins , just behind Ireland with 7.
The winner of 2010 (Germany) is called Lena and she's very famous here in Germany. She's still making music in English. You should check her out.
for me, the winner of Eurovision 1995 is still one of the most beautiful songs ever. check it out, Secret Garden - Nocturne (Norway)
Swedden 2015 2012 Ukraine 2016 Serbia 2007 Germany 2010 Austria 2014 Denmark 2013 Israel 2018 The Netherlands 2019 ....also recomend to watch the first runners each year...and This year top 5 with Ítaly as winner, amazing show and amazing songs 2021
Cyprus 2018 should have SO won that year although 2nd place was great.
Eurovision actually started in 1956, so there are a lot of winners you didn't see here (and also the 2021 winner that was chosen this Saturday)
After all these years i still freaking love the finnish one 😂
You must see Jamala - 1944, the winner of 2016 Eurovision song contest !)
Love your reactions.
The song from the opening clip is the UK's entry from 2017
You should recat to stefan raab - wadde hadde dudde da 🤣🤣 2000 Eurovision song contest 🤣🤣🤣
That would be cool!!! Thanks, Cherry :)
Euphoria an anthem and Loreen the queen !
Please react to the winners from 1956-1999! It's important not to miss them out from eurovision history.
My favourite winning performances are Believe (2008), Fairytale (2009), Satellite (2010), Rise like a phoenix (2014), and Toy (2018). I don't mention Euphoria (2012) cos really is there any person who doesn't love it?
The opening song is Lucie Jones I will never give up on you came around about 17th in 2017 representing the UK
You should check Kate Miller-Heidke's entry in 2019. The song is called "Zero gravity" and I promise it'll blow your mind.
Sweden with Euphoria is consider the best song in the History of Eurovision, thanks guys for react, love u so much❤️ from Spain
Actually no... a recent study showed that Waterloo is first, then Euphoria
Please also react to the runner-up songs for each year - you'll find many interesting performances for sure
Something to note: in 2016 they changed the way the scores are given. So people were able to gain more points. For example, I believe that with the new system, 'Fairytale' (Norway 2009- also my personal favorite winner) would've gotten something around 775 points
The girl at the very start of the video is lucie jones she represented the United Kingdom in 2017 the performance was amazing ❤️🔥
I love you guys so much! Watch the 2014 winner Austria!
The music video version is also incredible, and they usually have english translations of their lyrics as closed captions!)
Also Australia 2019 is another one of the most original stage shows I’ve ever seen at Eurovision, which is saying a LOT! 😂
You guys should react to the winners of each year by the televote!
Now you just need to watch the winners before 2000
Lol in Austria everybody said that conchita wouldn't have a chance but she showed them that they were wrong. And I think she opened a lot of hearts in Austria just because they were so proud of her to win. 😊❤️ And I love it that Austria stood in the spotlight that time....
Jamala 2016 remains my favourite winner of all-time! You guys are so nice
Not sure of anyone commented about this before, but voting system has changed a few years back, that's why there're such a difference in numbers. If used to be 100% public voting (you can give 1 to 10 and 12 points to any country but your own), but now it's 50/50 with jury votes from all competing counties. It was probably introduced as a way of balance the scales cuz we love to vote for our neighbors 😅 can't say now is much different, but still
And 2021... ITALYYYYYYY THE WINNER😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
greetings from Serbia❤️❤️❤️
Fun fact!
Australia is also a part of Eurovision.. They really wanted to be a part of it because Eurovision is very big in Australia.. If they end up winning one year they wont be able to host it since they're not a European country 😊
I'm Danish and I really think you should check out both the danish winners..
It changed in 2016,not 2017.
There are a lot of good performances and some really funny ones. If you want some taste of what you might encounter you should watch. "Love Love Peace Peace" It is a side performance from 2016. Where they sing about how to win Eurovision and everything they are incorporating in the performance has been in the Eurovision at one point. :)
Loreen 2012 and Conchita 2014 is amazing
And 2009 too.
It would be lovely yo you you reacting to allí Eurovisión winners since 1956!!
Euphoria always the best
did ya know that ABBA got famous because of eurovision as well as celine dion :D
I suggest you to check out the weirdest Eurovision acts out there.....
We would love that hahahaha! Awesome idea :) Thanks!
Your reaction to Jamala is incredible!)) I looked at it several times!)
Please react to her performance
The best for me was 2016. and 2019.
Same! The contestants and the whole productions by Sweden and Israel we the best in years.
