The Ukrainian's song has a wonderfull message in it. It basically Is a prayer to Shum, a pagan god, to call forth spring and end winter: spring, as a new beginning, after this pandemic (Winter) for all Europe and the world. I love that song
It's a pagan song, but Shum most likely meant "Forest" in the old Slavic language. It still has this meaning in some Slavic languages (like Bulgarian).

This year was probably one of the strongest Eurovisions ever, so many of them could have won and I would have been fine with it, it was only really the UK, Germany and Spain that were bad and they all got 0 points anyway so it's fine (I also hated Bulgaria's because it was boring but I can recognise it was an ok song)
I’m Canadian but lived in Belgium for past two years and Switzerland the past 6 months and I learned about Eurovision from my Albanian friends this past year and since then I’ve loved it, I wish more North Americans could learn about Eurovision because I think it’s really fun and really entertaining, and I feel like most North Americans even if you don’t follow singing you will still find this entertaining!

Europe when USA people react: oh gosh, here we go again, arrogance towards Europe, again Americans who think the'yre the best. Europe when Canadians react: oh so lovely. If you ever visit, go two different places, say in the first place you're from the USA, and in the second place you're from Canada, you'll immediately see most Europeans likes Canada more 😂😉 Would have no problems to see Canadians (like Australia) if Eurovision becomes also popular over there 🙂
to be fair, I found this reaction also quite... arrogant. I mean, I get it, Eurovision is something else and there's most often definitely no commercial music to be found but it's OUR thing. I guess most non-Europeans just don't get it. That's ok but I'd wish for a bit more respect ^^
The French song is actually very french, what I mean to say by that is that they have songs that they sing with an interesting style, they sing parts and they recite parts as they interpret a story and they are talking to the public... It's nice. Lara Fabian did it so well in some songs.
The vibe from these ladies is fascinating. The lady on the left reminds me of one of my friends Aylin. Do this every year please, I enjoyed every second of it. Greetings from Belgium

TH-cam: Guess I can't interest you in a reaction of a girl across the pool who had no idea about all this... can I?
Me: Bring it, God damn.
Omg same😂
"a girl across the pool" LOL! im glad you chose to watch to watch yet another Eurovision video !
@@daniellesaha it was so worth it! Thank you, I had a good laugh)
100 % relatable.
Literally me!!
I'm Italian too, so you can guess what was my reaction LOL
😌🥳
Feel like I'm sitting with my girls, chilling and watching Eurovision) Love it!
omgggg stoppp
This perfect reaction only proves that Canadians are not American but very much European
I like that they actually like learning about it and are respectful and nice about the performances, americans aren't really like that, they just laugh cause they don't understand..
This is why we want Canada in ESU but not USA
we love swiss legend pewdiepie 💕✨
i really said that with my whole chest... all that confidence for what?? 😭🤣
@@daniellesaha As a Swiss I can forgive you, we are used to it 😂😂
@@alextruong1687 apparently the ambassadors of Slovenia and Slovakia have to meet monthly to exchange misaddressed post!
@@phueal And then there's taht region of Craotia called Slavonia.... ITS JUST SLAVS EVERYWHERE, MAN! ;)
@@phueal OMG that's hilarious!
You have just confirmed my theory that Canadians are the kindest people in earth, I have been in Canada twice and the people are really kind congrats love your video 🥳❤️ from Mexico 🇲🇽
hahaha ur so kind!
That "Switzerland -> PewDiePie" is incredible knowing that some people think that the contestant from Germany looks like him in the really early days x)
Omg can I just say this is such a wholesome reaction video. Like the way you're both super positive and ALSO the way you make a joke about the stereotype of americans not knowing geography after mixing up sweden and switzerland,, I love it so much. All other reaction videos I've watched of people outside of europe reacting to eurovision have just seemed really arrogant but this is such a genuine reaction. Seriously tysm for being so sweet
Damiano is also the same age as me and fsr he makes me feel like an innocent teenager crushing on the hot older rebel guy, you know what I mean? The kinda guy you'd hide from your parents lol I'm obsessed 😳
I’m older and I feel the same😂
He's like 10 years younger than me but while I'm getting mistaken for a child in local busses, he is out there commanding people like a super alfa... 😂 Makes me feel so confused!
when I hear those slavic vibes in ukrainian song, as a Pole I want to start dancing around a fireplace and actually I did with my friends at the last party 😃
As a German I want to dance at some techno rave to it.
Same here, eveyone is saying how different the song is while for me this is such a familiar melody and vibes :D
Poland's song was trash so at least we can be proud of our neighbours!
"cheekbones"
"Just angles everywhere"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I enjoyed every minute of your reaction! 😂😂
Regards from Spain!!! 🤩
as someone from the uk who's been obsessed with eurovision since i was a kid this is one of the best reactions ive seen from non europeans, we love to see it!!
I didn't even notice the variation of genres in the top 5 until this video, they're all very different moods as well! Nice!
The chemistry between you two is everything the commentary is a vibe and I hope you post a vlog at Eurovision next year. Then y’all can show another newbie friend to Eurovision the songs from 2022 in the same format and get like 500 thousand views
The french song gives me goosebumps everytime I heart it. Je comprends les paroles, ça doit aider aussi... Actually the lyrics are really powerfull because she is begging for the public to love her, as an artist. "Parlez de moi...Écoutez moi" ... "Talk about me... Hear me out...this is who I am and I hope you love me as an artist"
OMG This video was everything!!!! I loved how genuine your reactions were and the good vibes you and your friend give. You two together are hillarious! We need to see you react to the rest of the songs please!!!
Sister deserves 12 points from Europe 🇪🇺
"Italy was the one yelling at me "
well sis they are the ones that won-
Watching them is like being the third member of a trio who is just happy to be there. They grab you in and you never want to leave
you guys have the biggest gen z energy and I'm so here for it
You need to react at "I Wanna Be Your Slave & Zitti E Buoni" live. I mean.....DAAAAAMN
YAS YAS YAS YASSSS
THISSSSSSSS
😍🥰🔥 Maneskin 🤘 love 🖤👑🇮🇹👍
SHUM is my summer jam even thought I have no idea what she is saying - I can't stop listening to it
basically about winter ending and summoning spring, at least that's what I got from a translated lyric video :)
The energy between you guys is EVERYTHING!!!!
I died at “ok but yell at me”
I think we all felt that besties
You both are just so adorable to watch, thank you for the reaction. :) Alena is actually quite good with the explanation! It was fun to watch overall.
I am really being honest at first i really didn't like Italy's song at all but after listening it for the second time i am just obsessed with that song it's just so good
Honestly the best reaction to this year’s ESC I have seen… the two of you are hilarious and talented. Thank you, keep it coming
I’m still not over eurovision, so many interesting acts this year c:
This year was probably one of the strongest Eurovisions ever, so many of them could have won and I would have been fine with it, it was only really the UK, Germany and Spain that were bad and they all got 0 points anyway so it's fine (I also hated Bulgaria's because it was boring but I can recognise it was an ok song)
yall, we need a reaction to all the songs cause i loooooooooooooooved this video
Hear me out:
Iceland: Napoleon Dynamite
Italy: Almost Famous
Ukraine: Tron Legacy
Rewatching this because I need another one for this year haha
as an european that’s the FIRST and ONLY reaction video i approve that was produced outside of our continent
Damn, 2021 was such a great year :o
Lena is me knowing everything about Eurovision, even facts that performers don't know 😅✨
I’m Canadian but lived in Belgium for past two years and Switzerland the past 6 months and I learned about Eurovision from my Albanian friends this past year and since then I’ve loved it, I wish more North Americans could learn about Eurovision because I think it’s really fun and really entertaining, and I feel like most North Americans even if you don’t follow singing you will still find this entertaining!
God why are you girls so good tho?? Enjoyed every second of this reaction, especially from non europeans (since you guys didn't born into eurovision culture). The perfect mix of taking it seriously, hyping yourselves up and having fun and taking a piss of the whole thing
As a European I've been addicted to Americans reacting to ESC for the past weeks. And yours was just perfect, the best by far :)
they’re canadian😭
the way i GASPED when you ranked them i was like omg how did she nail it like that
Came here to see you reacting to Finland. Read "top five" in the title. Still watched it. It's so fun to see people around the world reacting to ESC. Still wanting to know your opinion on the Song from Finland. Hope you see this comment.
My favourite thing about the 2021 contest was how only one of the top 5 songs was in English
English songs tend to dominate the contest, and I'm super happy that wasn't the case that year
This is hands down the best reaction video I've seen, and I am on a days-long binge! Perfect. Thank you!
those circles in ukraine perfomance were electrical tambourines
Switzerland hands down! His voice is so angelic and the song is beautiful 😍 Ukraine is my second favorite, very mysterious and different
Ok, you two need to meet up for Eurovision reactions next year - and I'm looking forward to following your trip to Italy next year.
Great video!!! You two have such a good energy and this was really fun to watch. I was searching for a good non-European reaction to Eurovision and you are the best one!
Not only i love the reaction, but I LOOOOOOOVE the friend dynamic between you and your best friend. Your humour is so relatable and funny, totally Gen Z focused... i love it
okay so it's been some months since eurovision but omg i loved your reaction!! you seemed as excited as i was watching the finale live, the best! this year's eurovision was honestly one of the bests i've ever seen
Europe when USA people react: oh gosh, here we go again, arrogance towards Europe, again Americans who think the'yre the best.
Europe when Canadians react: oh so lovely.
If you ever visit, go two different places, say in the first place you're from the USA, and in the second place you're from Canada, you'll immediately see most Europeans likes Canada more 😂😉
Would have no problems to see Canadians (like Australia) if Eurovision becomes also popular over there 🙂
to be fair, I found this reaction also quite... arrogant. I mean, I get it, Eurovision is something else and there's most often definitely no commercial music to be found but it's OUR thing. I guess most non-Europeans just don't get it. That's ok but I'd wish for a bit more respect ^^
@@rainbow3320 How was this reaction arrogant at all?
@@yorampaar2011 theyre making fun of some of the songs
@@berlinstoli6326 but... that's what we do too? I mean all the jokes about taking a pee break because ballad? And Germany 0 points?
@@sisuguillam5109 I'm from Germany and we always joke about what kind of dumb song they're gonna pick for Germany every year😂
Thank you for this reaction. You both are so sympathetic, respectful and natural. I would love to see you reacting to every song :D
This was such a wonderful video, YOU'RE BOTH SO GREAT!!! It's so nice seeing someone who knows nothing about Eurovision experience it for the first time and have so much fun with it!! And I'm still not over Måneskin, don't think I ever will be!
I can't stop laughing you both are so funny you should start doing commentary videos...
your reactions are awesome and not cringy at all omg I LOVE YOU BOTHHHHHH
PLEASEEEE REACT MORE EUROVISION
It’s easy to tell you two are Canadian and not American because you’ve done a respectful reaction and you enjoyed the performances. AND you got the songs in the right order! Loving this.
I rarely comment on youtube, but you girls just deserve some congratulations for a awesome video with awesome vibes!
Bro, don't make fun of my boy from Switzerland, he absolutely killed it.
You girls are amazing!! Love from a Eurovision fan, forza Italia!!
I've watched a few non-Europeans react to Eurovision videos in my post-Eurovision depression but honestly yours is my favourite for sure, loved it!
I really enjoyed the reactions. Eurovision is hard to explain. And each year is different. This year I would say was really strong. And while I'm really happy for Italy my personal favorite is Iceland. They are just ... everything.
This is the first video I see on this channel and I really liked this duo's energy!!! Great reaction video
Best reaction video I've seen, love your energy
As a European, it's nice to know non-Europeans are recognising Eurovision
Me : Oh these are cute girls they are being so nice and respectful to all the participants.
France coming, the girls : "We love Paris oui oui Baguette"
Me : ........
YOU TWO ARE SO FUN TO WATCH I LOVE YOU OH MY GOD I LAUGHED SO MUCH youre just so funny with your comments omg
