It's possible the players on offense lost confidence in what they were doing. Back in the day if a back just got the ball 3 times for 7-7-9 yards, you were going to get him 3 more times and if you couldn't stop it you got another 3.
Dana being OC is phenomenal. Anxious to see how the game plays are now. Yes, on Rhule. Yes, we will win. I haven't given up yet. A bowl game is so important to everyone GBR
Nebraska, FSU, Florida, and as of this season Oklahoma were the epitome of powerhouse college football, now they all have tanked. My hopes are Nebraska is on its way back to the top. As a lifelong Husker fan for 54 years I just hate where we’ve been especially the last 10-11 years, just like most fans. Hopefully Dana can light a fire under these boys butts that they have to play balls to the wall every weekend no letting up. Matt Rhule wants to be here you can tell.
I expect three things from Holgorsen... 1) He will simplify the playbook by cutting out needless plays. 2) He will help Raiola get the ball out faster with shorter throws. 3) He won't call stupid screen passes that don't have any possibility of gaining a single yard.
You do a great job AC. Look forward to all your shows. I think I see a rooster pheasant across the road. Thanks for all you do Adam. How are the kids doing on their respective sports?
Iowa fan here just saying I think Holgorsen is going to be a lights out addition to the Nebraska offense. I’m calling it now, I think Nebraska scores 50 a game the rest of the way and wins their bowl game ending with a respectable 9-4 record. I think Nebraska trounces my lifeless Hawkeyes 56-10 at Kinnick. Grats on a great hire.
@ You as well friend, frankly though, I’ve sort of checked out after our 4th loss…really takes the excitement and fun out of it for me anyways. My nerves just can’t handle the agony of dumb mistakes over and over again lol.
I think there will be a difference in the little things which will make a difference overall. A touchdown more a game would ideally give us a 2 to 1 record the last 3 games. Yes and yes on the last 2 questions! All day
Agree. Tired old play calling puts freshmen qb in 3rd long. Not a recipe against worthy opponents. DR needs to be able to rollout bc he adds another dimension when he does. At same time he needs to learn how to go down when he’s got yards. Dive or slide man. He stands up and presents a punching bag like Taylor Martinez. Play the damn talent you have don’t worry about burning a shirt. Make plays and declare make big $$
Adam - you were right!! Rhule's comment that 'Holgorson's advice is to figure out what you do well and then do that and forget everything else' sounds almost exactly like your comment a few shows back where you explained how Nebraska needs to find it's identity. Hoping that both of you are correct!
Very interesting...highest paid TE Coach in the country; this gives me hope, because I already had us penciled in to lose the last 3 games. I am actually looking forward to them now to see what we can do, vs how bad we'll be AND if we see a change in performance in the last 3....byebye Satt
Glad Satterfield wasn’t just axed. He seems like a decent coach but being an OC wasn’t the right fit. I hope people don’t continue to disparage him and let him just do his job. Fidone has been solid this year, no complaints.
@@timostransky468I have a hard time seeing him staying. It would be hard to get demoted and all of sudden and be bossed around by the guy that took over your job. I may be wrong on him staying but I could see him leaving for a TE job at another school or Oc at a lower level
@@connorledy8941 Would be fine with Satt staying as TE coach, seems to be solid at it, but ya it could be awkward. If we replace him then let's go get somebody good, enough with the buddy hires.
The bare minimum goal this year was to make it to a bowl game with a winning record. At this critical point in the season, bringing in both an Offensive and Defensive advisor to help analyze and game plan was a smart move. What the current staff was doing isn't working especially on offense. Dana Holgorsen should be able to assess and game plan at least one more win. I believe that was the main reason to bring in the extra help. Hopefully Dana helps them win them all!
im not sure whats going on with defense. they play lights out against ohio state and colorado, but can't stop ucla or illinois. tony white is a much better coach than satt. I trust him to have at least 1 or 2 good defensive games left this season.

@@themike97_58 maybe ditching the 3-3-5 defense will help with consistency?
I respect Rhule for what had to be a difficult decision in the middle of the season and replace his OC . I think it was a great move and hope things can settle down and the offense sees improvement these last 3 games .. We can see the amount of stress Rhule has been under , I mean he has not been himself since the Illinois loss and seems really down about the ways the season has gone and from how many in the fan base has loudly turned on him after having everyone backed him and we're happy with him being here. Must be hard on his wife and kids .
FINALLY!!! Yes, I cautiously feel better about coach Rhule. Time will tell. It's a good sign, but he himself must embrace change rather than the good-o-boys club.
I think certain parents who could take their kids elsewhere and alumni paying all the bills are being listened to by our AD. Rhule is feeling the pressure.
Adam, after watching the struggles Wisconsin has had these last two years since their coach tried installing the Air Raid, how do you think Nebraska will do if Dana comes back next year and tries to install it?
USC is going to be an interesting game to say the least. I am cautiously optimistic that the additions of Phil Snow to assist Tony on the defense along with Dana taking over the reins of the offense will make a difference. How much? We will soon find out during the next 3 games
Speaking of crappy refs and the UCLA Iowa game... I had in my notes to go back and watch with 7:14 left (didn't note which quarter, but assuming 4th) where the refs call forward progress stopped, so they can't review the play for a fumble. It brings back my PTSD for the Nebraska Michigan game where 2AM was clearly down and we would've pry won that major upset. I'll have to watch the 2 plays side-by-side sometime and compare.
Not sure if this is the solution or not but I applaud the idea that Rhule made a change even if its only real effect is psychological. 3 games left let’s go GBR🌽
I'm starting to have a little more confidence in what's going on with the new coaching staff arrangement and UCLA beating Iowa. Just need someone to reignite the fire that we at the beginning of the season and we could have two more wins or better by the end of the season.
Yes he made the right decision and I would say about a 7 impact just because it's so late in the season and I truly believe we can and will beat usc this weekend #GBR 🌽🌽
Impact 6 or 7, still feel positive about Rhule, he's not afraid to make change and see downfalls in his program, and I've always thought that we can take USC.
I think Rhule is always thinkkng outside the box. For instance, he brought in a NFL kicking expert to work on Hohl. And Hohl improved his kicking skills by 100%! I think Rhule is definitely on the right track! I trust and totally believe in Rhule! GBR!🏈🎈
It doesn't seem like there is time for drastic changes for this game or even season. But, it feels possible to score at least another TD/game or and extra TD and FG.
Good move, Ohio State said our routes were so predictable they didn't need to pursue coverage, they knew where the ball was going due to lack of patterns. Predictable
Dana H impact 8 of 10, Yes - good for Rhule, Yes beat USC - I'll be there hopefully with around 25,000 NU fans - First NU game in a number of years. It’s not assiseven, assieight, it’s asinine😂🤣. Classic!! Yeah we need a dynamic RB. And when a few offensive lineman graduate this year I’ll be happy. They need more fire!! I think Indiana is going to be a spoiler in the playoff🤔. Let’s get ourselves straight and win, GBR!!
Hey wouldn't it be really fun if come next season, don't even show it in the spring game, that the offensive lineman have that large gap between themselves like what Leach used to do if Dana still our OC.
Does that mean the players have to learn a whole new playbook, which leaves room for mistakes to be made while learning it? We can't really afford any mistakes at this point.
I want to see DR be more of a team player. At least from the stands, I see a kid who runs out of the tunnel, runs ALL the way downfield, separating himself from the team. He does his little Mahomes stretch/hop. On the first huddle of every possession, he is 10+ yds from the huddle, separating himself from the team. He then runs up to the huddle and calls the play. I think there is a schism in the lockerroom.
i dont think rhule like making mid season changes bc the team then has to relearn a bunch of stuff and the transition can be slow and hurt the season, especially when its this late. The fact that holgerson is the new OC, to me, says that he believed the team would lose all 3 games to end the season with satt as OC. there was literally no risk assumed by changing. Rhule wants to win, and he knows that this team is better than 5-7 so why not take a chance on a guy with a proven track record, even if its late in the season.
Satterfield's office will soon be moved (overnight) to a cleaning closet by the loading docks. In it will be a chair, a tiny table, a tiny TV and a PS2 with Madden 07, on which he can coach virtual tight ends until his contract is up or he quits. The B button on his controller will be unreliable.
Holgorson is certainly handcuffed taking over at this juncture. Think we run a more stripped-down, efficient version of Satt's offense with a couple new wrinkles thrown-in. Holgorson should do less dumb stuff anyway., could be enough to get close W's where we've been getting close L's.
