      Lazy developers, Burnout Paradise was such a beatiful game and was just 8 GB and also runs fine on a core 2 cpu with 2 gb of ram

    First off, a lossless full screen screenshot of this demo can't possibly fit in 64KB, and second, it inflates to over 920MB when running. Just unreal the skill these guys have!

      because the algo never end and new coming up ,but the economic is for more data and not for crunched algo because they are to lame for realtime thats the reason why we have so much data.

    Hard to believe that even the music could fit into 64k. Thank goodness for procedural music! I remember a music player for the Amiga years ago that exclusively used procedurally generated music (no samples) and most tunes were under 5k, and they sounded great too! Anyway, impressive demo!

    So these are directX templates i think, so you don't have to store these 3d models. The music is midi, it's also needs very tiny space. But yeah 64k mindblowing.

    • @limace
      @limace 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      the 3d models are not "3d models" more likeliky the result of complex SDF coded GLSL (or other shader lang). and the music not "midi" but also the result of code.

    • @jimbotron70

      like everything in life: 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration ;)
      -some talent
      -learn a programming language
      -watch lots of classics from past and present
      -put on insane amount of hard work, dedication, effort
      -go to a animation/CG school
      -use some demotool like Farbrausch's Werkkzeug
      The recipe is simple, its execution is not.

      Learn programming and make a single dot move around on the screen.

    • @jsrodman
      @jsrodman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depends upon your starting point. A lot of the microdemos (64k and 4k) are done using shaders. If you already know programming, spend some time in shadertoy to both get a grip on it, and to find your creative visual style.
      If you don't know any programming, spend time with a book, or website or whatever to teach yourself the basics of graphics programming. It doesn't really matter what language or environment. Just anything that lets you move things around the screen and have fun learning will get you started.

    I am not so-involved in the demoscene community, but I believe only a few more years and AI-demos will be a thing. Coders in the last few yeard have realized that lighting effects, bokeh, UV mapping, and realistic, actual music-like soundtracks are a good way for boosting the overall apperance of the demo, for "cheap". I believe the next step will be AI-optimisation of the code.

    I want PC demo that needs minimum of 128GB RAM to run.

    • @snakeface5652
      @snakeface5652 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately, whoever makes that would probably make something which is bloated and doesn't truly show off what 128gb could do.

    • @mikakorhonen5715
      @mikakorhonen5715 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@snakeface5652 Ofcourse it would be bloaded with todays standards. Code would be miniscule part of it. Rest is 3D geometry, textures and simulation data.
      Real challenge is to make it run realtime with all that data. It would be close to biggest PC games, but subject is free and/or abstract.
