I love that this show has turned into a platform for people to share their culture with their friends.....while also torturing them A wonderful mix of wholesome and cursed
Olivia’s face at 16:19 is pure joy at someone recognizing and speaking in a positive way about a part of her culture that she cherishes. This whole episode put such a smile on my face.
Love that we're getting a mix of everyone's culture - from Kimmy's Filipino dishes, Keith's Soul Food, Arasha's Indian Cuisine, and Olivia's Chinese meals - hope this trend continues!
It's always really wholesome to hear members of the cast/crew act so enthusiastic while showing off their culture's food - even if it has been messed with at some point
He reminds me of the British comedian James Acaster describing the food he's eating in very specific and creative ways. Should be like Damien on the road, trying different small business restaurants of all cultures, taking the time to make detailed reviews as he eats
i would enjoy a show with him just trying foods that are considered weird or gross by people who are like, not exactly educated on cultures and whatnot. i think he would be such a good host because he loves food and he loves uplifting cultures and educating. you can see how happy olivia was when he got that big bite because she knew he would enjoy and love it
This is why we love Damien. No matter what he gets, he’s so excited! He really appreciates the food he eats and is so genuine about it. 10/10 best boi.
@@thespankmyfrankit reminds me of the Thanksgiving episode where Olivia ate Damien's dish and really enjoyed it and Damien was super happy about it, and now it's been done in reverse and it just warms my heart so much!
You can tell that Olivia really cares about this food that she’s sharing with her friends, and it’s so heartwarming!! I want Olivia and Damien to go out for dim sum now
Damien’s love for Chinese food is top tier like it’s so genuine it’s wonderful like his reactions make me wanna try Chinese food because they do seem genuinely delicious tbh and idk why but this has to be my favorite yeet it or eat it episode keep it up y’all
as someone who grew up eating century egg and pork congee/porridge, I'm so glad Damien got it and fully appreciated it. it made me feel so happy seeing him genuinely enjoy something that brought me so much comfort growing up.
I almost teared up watching the clips of Olivia and Garrett cooking together. Olivia was passionate about what she was making and Garrett is so supportive and helpful
Just fyi… if Smosh liked this, you editing it takes their like off, so in the future, if the creator likes your comment, don’t edit it if you want the like to stay.
for real tho, as a poc, seeing damien be so goddamn kind and welling to try new things and being so open to trying food that other people deem "strange" or "smelly" warms my heart so much he just like me fr fr damien is gods apology for most other men
Damien genuinely fawning over the Big Bite was so wholesome, Olivia doesn't often show emotion in Smosh but she was so touched by Damien's pure love of her culture
Damien genuinely seemed so pleased with every dish Olivia gave out and he willingly and happily dove in every bite. It's so heartwarming and nice to see.
Watching Damien's reaction on the second dish as she is describing it. He has the whole vibe of girl if you don't hurry up imma hope over this table and just snatch them feet off you! He was just waiting!
One of my favorite things about Damien is how genuinely enthusiastic and excited he is about trying food from different cultures. I'm the same way and it's so nice to see.
This episode really goes to show how important it is to cherish our friends cultures and truly embrace them for what they are. It clearly means a lot to Olivia. Imagine what it would mean to our friends irl❤️ my heart is full
I’m relatively new to Smosh as it is now (I’m an old millennial 😂) but Damien is the most wholesome person I have ever seen in my life, bless him 🥰 Always nice to see someone else who shares my enthusiasm for all of the food 🤣
Honestly, I love the way Damien responds to food. Every episode he's always so excited to try new cuisine and experience his friends' cultures with them, and it warms my heart, too. I'm Mexican Pol-Jew American and I've had similar situations where people eat the food incorrectly, and so they have a bad experience. Also, thank you, Liv SO much for the "thank you" tip. Gonna come in handy!
I love that the cast and crew have been able to bring their cultures to the table. The food looks so good and even when things have been messed with it’s only been in minor ways
I really love Damien in this for the same reasons Olivia said. I love how enthusiastic he was about the different foods that are considered gross to a lot of non-Asian ppl.
Some cultural episodes id love to see: Damien and German dishes, Shane (Kimmy's fiance) and Australian dishes, Rhett and Link and North Carolinan bbq, and also Mythical Chef Nicole with Persian dishes.
Loving the fact that the Big Bite was a PIIMM callback. I remember her talking about putting the century egg in porridge and eating that when she felt sick, and now we get to see that porridge! Only thing missing was Noah so he could experience century egg again, but the right way this time. 😋
I have seen Olivia in many emotions and expressions over the long time of watching Smosh, but her happiness and giddyness in this one feels so new and amazing to see ^-^
This video was so incredible, seeing Olivia and Garrett cooking in the kitchen together was so great and cute to see. Those dishes looked so good and I enjoyed seeing Damien excited for all those dishes.
Just gonna say I really enjoy these "try cast/crew members' cultures' cuisines but maybe dangerous" twist. Really nice getting to see the Smosh team share themselves in this way! Y'all are crushing the game, fam!
I grew up with a lot of chinese food in the Phillippines cuz, there’s a lot of chinese food in the ph due to the huge influence of chinese immigrants and centuries of trading in our history and I’ve seen/ate all/most of these foods here in this video and Damien’s enthusiasm with these food is awesome and I would love to eat with Olivia during sundays🥺
I didn't expect Olivia to be a chef but watching in the kitchen was so wholesome. Plus, seeing Damien love and get so excited for everything made it extra special.
damien’s genuine appreciation for other cultures and food makes me smile every time. food is such an intimate thing to share and really connects people. it’s nice to see someone so excited to try it all
Olivia's face watching Damien enjoy the last bite with so much appreciation. What a beautiful moment. Olivia was so tame with this challenge, you can tell her cultural food meant a lot to her to not totally ruin the experience for everyone

I could've sworn jackie also brought nigerian food but I can't find the video
I’m actually in tears at Olivia and Damien over the big bite. What a sweet and genuine moment.
right?? it was so wholesome
Olivia being genuine is always so sweet. Her in the kitchen with Garrett was adorable.
Yes! I love when we get to see her serious side. She seemed so emotional about her food and I love that.
Yeah normally not a fan of her being in videos at all. But I enjoyed her in this one. She was actually engaged and seemed to like being there.

No lie. Damien is always game for this, but I love how excited he was in this one. I half expected him to stop the wheel on his color once or twice.
Olivia's reaction to his excitement was so cute too. Love both of their happiness over good food. 🥰
He's also extremely good at picking out flavors and deconstructing it. It's honestly quite impressive!

It’s so fun when Damien is on. He’s just there for some lunch, he has no fear.
I'm living for Ian acting like a mean berating parent to Arasha
The millions of “views” clicking by her face as she ate was hilarious.
And Arasha does call him Dad lmao
He's not even really wrong either. 😅
He’s such a dance mom lol
Ian's slasher smile after Arasha popped the whole bite in was HYSTERICAL.
