It makes me happy to know that Brian is still here to feel all of the love and adulation from the fans of Smile. I hope it brings him some of the joy it has brought all of us.
That's arguably one of the best interviews I've seen Brian do, and it's not Jason Fine, because he's Rolling Stone and this is CBS. Who did this interview?
1965 to 1967 was a very busy period for Brian. Arguably, his creative apex. But he was trading blows with the Beatles at this time. They came out with "Beatles For Sale"---he countered with "Today". They came out with "Help!"--he countered with "Summer Days". They came out with "Rubber Soul"---he countered with "Pet Sounds". They came out with "Revolver"---he countered with "Good Vibrations". They eventually won the war with "Sgt Peppers" but that was by default due to the delay of "Smile" by 37 years
Thank you Brian for all your wonderful music. You have changed so many people lives with your gift

Not only was the interview really nice, the choice to have various music from Smile itself throughout the segment was very much welcome and tasteful!
Good vibrations is mind blowing.
Hard to be humble when you're great! Brian doesn't mince words, yet actually deserves to praise his achievements. Good clip.
Brian = genius
Brian is Love. Brian Loves You.
Brian was definitely into this interview and very lucid. He's had some very good interviews and some not so good.
Beautiful music, great interview!
great stuff from my youth
This whole video made me smile
Brian is in full form for this interview. Pretty much normal.
Bless you Brian Wilson

What’s the song he’s playing at 4:52??
“The guy that wrote ‘Let It Be’, how can he be jealous of The Beach Boys?” that broke my heart
they took that B&W footage of Good Vibrations and tried to say it was from the Smile sessions. That is dishonest journalism
Imagine what other more important issues the media are dishonest about ?
Good Vibrations was recorded during the Smile sessions. It was meant to go on Smile.
Brian started the Wind Chimes Sessions during the Good Vibs Sessions. Same with Cabinessence.
anyone know what tht fragment of music is at 4:14?
Love To Say Dada
Water chant, later used in "Cool Cool Water" on Sunflower (1970).
When was this broadcast?
Brian shouldn’t have to lie
He didn't. Listen to the Sessions. They had fun.
beach boys are great
