We don't always have to talk about the Nazi's when anything about Germany comes up guys =.= The past is the past. Every country has done terrible things at one point. However, I will say, don't blame modern day German's for something an Austrian did. The German people I have met and have lived alongside were amazing and kind, so please, don't say things about German's when you have never met a German person. I've been called Nazi myself, and only because I was born in Germany. But anyway, as someone has already said, please, talk about the Nazi's elsewhere, most of us just came to hear Doitsu sing.

They had respect since the Germans began a second WW almost right after they lost the first one (nobody expected that). Compared to other countries Germany is quite small but, nevertheless, caused so much trouble in whole Europe. It's hard for Germany as a country to make friends after that. We're respected but branded as a domineering and Nazi populace. It started to get better with the reunion a few decades before. Nowadays, we have a mostly good relationship to some countries again and play a quite important role in the EU... but we're still a little 'EINSAM' :/ Prussia, where are you??? :'( xD Just to mention it, we may appear quite serious and scary... but actually we are really nice and funny people and I don't even know a single Nazi... so yeah. Don't be afraid of us xD (P.S.: I am German and would live, if it would still exist like in the past, in Prussia

But what's most important I believe is that Germany has a strong ally in the US, which has been fairly supportive of it and its endeavors since 1945. In fact, America was one of the strongest proponents for reunification. And I don't think I've ever heard anyone mock a German or Germany. Sure there's Nazi jokes now and then but no one takes it seriously.
I have a strong German heritage as well and I don't know but I think I have a Nazi or two in my family. they're not really mean but their actually really kinda and loving.

As much as Hetalia is a silly slap stick-esque show with slight racism and stereotypes, there is a real undertone of something really... deep, I guess is the word. Songs like Einsamkeit and one of China's songs are ones that capture that sad and slightly depressing side of Hetalia, what with the country's history and hardships. This is why I love the show and Himaruya-sensei so much~
