Tim Kerlee Jr., a fish in the Corps, and the 12th and final one to die. He embodied everything that means to be a cadet, an Aggie, and the 12th Man. He embodied what it means to display the greatest love, by sacrificing his life for his friends (John 15:13).

I was honored to light a candle and say "Here" for Bryan McClain at the San Antonio Muster. Then this morning I returned to College Station, held another candle, and annouced "Here" for all 12 Aggies. We will NEVER forget.

I’m a 4th gen Aggie and my dad was part of the Bryan FD Search and Rescue team. His report covering his 50+ hour rescue mission was heartbreaking.

We will always remember; we will never forget. Today we recollect the unyielding bond that, even in times of tragedy defines the Aggie Family, and Texas A&M. We remember how we showed the world that 85,000+ can and will always stand for 12. The burning desire to succeed in all aspects of life is still alive today. God Bless and Gig'em!

I've only been at A&M for a year now, but the Aggie Family already means more to me than almost anything in the world. I've gone to every Silver Taps since becoming a student and (performed in [SC]) Muster as well as the 10th year anniversary Bonfire memorial service. This video still makes me tear-up every time I see it. We will always remember.

Words can not capture what Texas A&M means to me, the tragic loss of this day will be forever in the hearts of all Aggies. Many will not understand, but this video gives some small insight of what it means to be an Aggie. God Bless the families of the twelve that fell that night 10 years ago, and God Bless Texas A&M.

I love this video, not just as an Aggie, but as a human being. The Aggie Spirit reached out to me as a high school prospect, and decided to permanently reside in me that moment I first stepped foot on campus. I love being a Fightin' Texas Aggie with all my heart, and those days, 10 years ago, tore my heart into pieces. Perspective....this anniversary reminds my of life's precious priorities. God bless the 12, especially Tim Kerlee.

I was there the night stack fell. I was too tired to continue so I left to go back to sleep. 10 minutes later it collapsed. I was still lying in bed in my overalls when my roomate comes screaming down the halls yelling "Stack fell stack fell, there are poeple dieing." In the years since, the campus really didn't feel the same, Aggs didn't have the same rallying point to remind them of the friendlyness of the campus. That is what I noticed after, not as many students saying Howdy as they did.

My sister's boyfriend was part of the bonfire crew and was going out there that night but he decided he was too tired, so he stayed home.

I guess being too tired saved your life. I thought of the church explosion in Beatrice, Nebraska in 1949. A church choir had practice on that cold winter day and all the members were either too tired or caught up in some other trivial thing. All of them were late and that saved their lives. As they were all going to the church, it exploded. The explosion was caused by the furnace being lit and a gas line was involved.

I was a student in 1999 and I remember studying late that night in the Blocker building near the bonfire site and my car was parked in the parking lot next to the bonfire!!! When I was finished studying, I went to my car shortly after midnight to go home looking at the VERY TALL BONFIRE STACK!!! I stayed up until 4am that morning and remember fire engines going off around 3am next to the apartments where I lived. At 7am I got a call from my grandmother saying she heard on the news that the bonfire had COLLPASED and was wondering if I was okay!!! I was fine.
My first class was at 11 am so I decided to drive by the site on Texas Avenue and saw the wreckage and could not believe it. When I went to class that day EVERYONE was quiet, and nobody looked or spoke to anyone walking on campus. My class was only 1/3rd full and another building I went to near the bonfire that day was EMPTY!!! I was the only one in it!!! My sister's boyfriend at the time was part of the bonfire crew but decided not to go out that night because he was too tired.
For lunch I went to the McDonalds across the street from the Bonfire and on CNN the top story was "Bonfire collapse at Texas A&M University". I could not believe that the top story in the country was just across the street where I was eating. I had a friend that was friends with someone that called the victims' families to tell them the tragic news. He said it was THE HARDEST PHONE CALLS he has ever had to make!!!

11/17/2016....I am sorry for the terrible blow to the families of those who died and injured. We all long for a way to "belong" and this tradition was one that clearly brought all sorts of people to the activity and I am sure that each year, at this time, you all mourn for the your missing Aggies and this tradition.

I remember, years ago going to the Bonfires and thinking, "what a bunch of idiots, they are going to get people killed someday"! Ash falling out of the sky. Unsupervised building of this bonfire by so called engineers. Aggies heads are so big they cant fit through a door. The people who were a part of that tradition should go to prison for the kids who were killed there.

David Ferrara Driving is pretty dangourous too. I bet you still get in a car and drive. There is a slim chance that something happens but there is always that chance.. In the video it said it is a 90 year tradition and no one has gotten hurt until that one time. They have made improvements and saftey changes to the bonfire. Also way to have respect Marisa Hogan.. Leave your comments to yourself if you are going to be disrespectful.. Grow up.
