    Agree with Natasha. In my experience the gentle confrontation goes differently when it’s a male bringing up an issue directly vs. a woman bringing up an issue. Women often will get labeled “bitchy” “crazy” “emotional” etc. for the same behavior that solves the problem for the man.

      Very true. “Hysteria” is so ridiculous, labeled as a disorder for not being “seen and not heard”. The guy seems like a dickhead and probably does this to everyone hired that isn’t a part of their clique. Probably gets off on leaving people out, most likely was bullied and left out as a child. I personally would have a private conversation if I really cared but most likely I would just keep my head down, be polite and courteous and leave work at work. Doesn’t seem like a person you actually want as a friend . I think our girl is dodging a bullet not getting involved with that guy , his drama and his clique. If there are quality ppl within the clique that she likes and are good ppl that will add value, befriend them separately.

    Re Ignored Waitress: actually the problem with Your answer Moshe, is that she still works there! You have never had to be a women dealing with Injured Male Pride. Waitress is not totally sure something is going wrong, but she has a wonky feeling -- your advice nearly guarantees something will be wrong after this 'convo'. Only the Best Case Scenario ends with an "oh dude, I didn't realize I was icing you out - so sorry". More likely that there is a little something off there, & this talk ends up embarrassing or upsetting him. Dealing with him after that would be intolerable.

    Congratulations on finishing your book, Moshe!! I am VERY much looking forward to reading it. I recently re-read “Kasher in the Rye” and found it equally, if not more, moving and inspirational than the first reading. So thrilled “Kasher” is on the best-seller list (where it belongs). Well done and hope to see you somewhere on the book tour.✨

    It’s ok Mosh, if I have a load of colors I dry them and use it as a second dresser. I pull as I need until I need to wash another load. And if it’s more colors, I just dry it on top of what’s left and keep pulling as needed.

    16:51 I don’t think that girl should confront the dismissive/ lame guy at work. Feel like this this ties into the last pod about people pleasing. If she genuinely likes the other co workers and wants to go out with them after for drinks or whatever, I think she should just put herself out there and next time they are discussing say something like that sounds fun would it be cool if I came out with you guys? Then just go out and be yourself! maybe it goes well and you bond with some of them, or not and you never have to be jealous or feel left out bc you know they’re not your people anyways. If the issues with the people at work is directly impacting your ability to perform then you can tell your manager your perspective about the breakdowns in communication, etc and see if they can help handle it. Personally I like to keep a healthy boundary between work and personal. It makes it so much less complicated and less drama.

      I like this, empowering herself to change the scenario without having to potentially drum up more drama with cold-shoulder guy 👍

    lmao I'm dying at the ADHD part. I also have ADHD and I'm sure the people commenting were projecting their own desires for someone to have told them earlier that our brains literally work differently and being unaware of it is playing life on invisible hard mode. There are ways to optimize life for the ADHD brain that don't necessarily involve medication.

    every time Moshe talks about the early 90s I’m like surely he’s not that old, I mean he was 11 in 1990 must be hard to be DJ as a child

    • @randomdude5938
      @randomdude5938 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      He never claimed to be a DJ in 1990 or even the early 90s. But yeah as someone exactly his age with a lot of shared experiences we grew up a lot faster than you guys do now. Lots of us were smoking and getting high in early middle school and going to raves by freshman year. There were definitely teenage DJs in the scene.

    On the waitress being ignored - I’ve had that at restaurants jobs, just an ass who gets off on being a bully in their tiny corner of a world because, I’d assume, they’re unhappy with where they are in life and want to feel powerful.
    I think it’s worth saying something because otherwise this guy, a peer, basically gets to decide who works there and doesn’t if you move jobs? At least, kindly, put him on notice. Say something like Moshe suggested, though it may not do much or help, at least you stood up for yourself. And it could help. Sometimes that even rocks the dynamic a bit - other people question why they look up to/follow an ass.
    Also, your sanity and well-being is worth more than putting too much energy in that. I agree with Natasha - do what you can - while also looking for another job that doesn’t feel like a high school.

    To the rizz lady: do some reading on narcissistic abuse in romantic partnerships. If he is making you question your attractiveness and making you feel like a craven pervert just for wanting a sexual connection, what he says verbally doesn’t matter. He may be cheating, or he may want you to _wonder_ if he’s cheating. And he could absolutely be closeted, blaming his lack of a libido with women on your “failure” to turn him on.
    Bottom line, you are not crazy and you deserve better.

    • @clevermissfox
      @clevermissfox 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could be a hormonal imbalance too. Or mental health. Dr Drew always says that when there’s a lack of libido in a cis male (who have a history of a higher libido , ppls biology is different but if there’s a drastic change…) there is a reason. He says doctors often then treat the symptoms with viagra instead of diving in and figuring out the root of the issue

    Where is the best place to order the book from ? Does Moshe have a preference (I’m assuming he gets more $ from direct order but maybe it’s better to have those #sold numbers on Amazon rather than the extra dollar from direct sale)?

    To the ignored waitress: find another gig. That guy sucks and has no life or friends outside of that cafe. He's probably worked there way too long, too. Here's a rare disagreement with Moshe. Ignore him and leave. He WANTS you to kiss the ring.
    The last writer: your partner isn't close with their father. That's clearly a lie. Tell them and take their lead on next steps. ❤ Wishing you both luck. You deserve kindness.

    • @clevermissfox
      @clevermissfox 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree about the waitress (haven’t gotten to the last caller). Sounds like he’s one of those guys where it’s his whole world, the cafe and his friends there. Sounds like he’s feeling threatened and gets off on being uninclusive and leaving ppl out. Esp if he know the waitress WANTS in. If she didn’t care he may behave differently. I think she’s better off not getting involved in that toxic friend group.

    36:00 What about agreeing to the chores that he is responsible for doing and then you don't do his chores? It might not get done in the timely manner that you would like, but I bet you they would get done eventually and with any habit, it will become more automatic over time.

    The likelihood a random new coworker is going to get violent over a minor confrontation like that towards a woman has to be a tiny fraction of that a man faces in the same situation.
    I fully understand male privilege is a real thing that presents in a myriad of ways but this is not one of them.
