    Thanks for doing this. I'll be using Krieinik for the first time on an Owl forest / Thistle pattern. I was getting a little nervous but this really helped. It's appreciated.

    I didn't know you couldn't iron or steam them, thank you. I am looking forward to seeing you use more from the Kreinik line.

      Haha thanks Shana! For this collection I'm just playing with the threads I featured in the video, but you never know where things may go in the future. :)

    Thank you for great information & a close up look at the metallics. The 2nd hold on your sample strip, appears coppery, to me; maybe a Rose Gold?
    Please show how to thread a cotton floss & a blending filament together & X stitch with it.

      Yes, there's a massive range of colours that Kreinik has, I think like 200+ colours? 😍As for the threading, I do have a tutorial on different needle threaders, so likely one of those will work. If you're using floss and blending filament, usually you'd just use one strand of floss, one of filament, so it's not any thicker than two strands of cotton floss. To stitch with it, just go a bit slower and be a bit more gentle, and use shorter strands so the blending filament doesn't start getting tangled or knotted. 😊

    great information. Would you create a video on how to couch using Kreinik cord? For example the 1/16 ribbon.

      @peacockandfig  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Avis! I've got some of the ribbon and such, but I've never used it so I'd probably do a terrible job of teaching how to couch it properly. 😂 If I do experiment with it and learn some good tricks, of course I'll share them in a tutorial. 🙂❤

    How to begin stitching with Krernick? There won't be a loop start.... so do you just leave a small tail and stich over the tail to trap it?

    • @peacockandfig
      @peacockandfig  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can do that, or use a small knot -- knots are fine to use, you just have to be aware they're there so you don't get your needle caught up in them when you're going back through the same hole. 😊

    I am using #4 Kreinik gold on a lighter linen project. It is calling for some single stitches away from the main body of the project. I am having issues securing them and was wondering if a pin stitch would be a viable option to secure the thread. If my memory serves me right I am using 32ct linen working 2 over 2 but the kreinik is 1 over 2. Thanks so much!!

      You could try a pin stitch Colleen, but as the Kreinik has a bit of a "spring" to it, it might not hold a pin stitch terribly well. I'd definitely give it a go though, it might work just fine. Otherwise you could leave a longer tail with no knot, and then weave that back in once you've completed your stitches (if there are enough stitches to weave the tail into, of course). You could also try a really small tight knot, and use one drop of Fray Check on it once you trim any excess tail off it. That would prevent the knot from unravelling, and the Kreinik is dense enough it shouldn't be visible from the front of the stitch that you used a little knot. 🙂

    Hello. Please can you tell me what is the app to make a pattern. Thanks

    • @peacockandfig
      @peacockandfig  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rana, you'll have to use standalone software (not an app) if you want to create high quality patterns. I have a whole playlist on my channel on the MacStitch/WinStitch software (Mac & PC version, it's created by Ursa Software). 🙂

      For Windows, you could use PC Stitch (either as a CD-ROM or a download). This is an excellent program for creating your own patterns. Jane Greenoff’s Cross Stitch Designer is another program, available as a CD-ROM. Both have motifs that you can stitch, together with the main thread manufacturers’ colour groups.

      Hi Jann! I have zero clue, I've never stepped into a Hobby Lobby in my life, I live in Canada. You probably have to order it online, I don't know what the "u" and "c" stand for (they're not the way Kreinik labels their threads), but here's a listing on 123stitch.com for 3215 in #4 braid (which is about the thickness of 2 strands of DMC) -- www.123stitch.com/en-ca/item/Kreinik-Peridot-3215-4-Braid/B43215. Just have a hunt on that site for the thread colours you need, it's in the US so should ship to you pretty quickly. 🙂

    My metalic DMC floss keeps on getting tangled up and eventually it breaks as I embroider, advice please

    • @peacockandfig
      @peacockandfig  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there! DMC Light Effects is a little trickier to work with than the Kreinik as it's not braided together. My advice is to cut strands half the length you're used to using (no more than 10" or so), use a needle that's bigger than you normally do, and stitch a lot slower and more gently (it's more fragile than cotton floss). Thread lubricant like Thread Magic or beeswax also really helps, it helps the floss glide through the fabric easier and not fray. Here's a tutorial I did on the Light Effects, hopefully that helps. :)

      Thank you so much, I have some bee wax, I did not know I could use it for this. I am sure will make my work a lot easier.

    • @peacockandfig
      @peacockandfig  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha oh yeah, it's great for metallics. It kind of holds all the strands together so they don't get as staticky (which makes them snarl and get tangled) or fray. Working with Light Effects just takes a little more patience and time, but the end result is so worth it. :)

      I was loosing all hope working with metalic floss. Every attempt I did ended up with a big mess and wasting floss :( Thank you :)

    • @peacockandfig
      @peacockandfig  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahahah never lose hope. :) And next time you have to work with metallics, try some Kreinik. You may have to order some in (I use the #4 braid usually), but it's great. Because it's braided it doesn't fray or tangle like the Light Effects, and it comes in over 200 colours. Ooooohhh ahhhhh...... :D If you look on my site, my Spirited Animals collection and Royal Proclamations collection was all done with #4 Kreinik braid, me likey. :)

    Can u find them at hobby lobby? Colors u3215 and c5982 i can happen to find them

    • @jenniferamundson15
      @jenniferamundson15 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to find them at hobby lobby, in the embroidery section. I buy my specialty threads online. Ebay, etsy or everythingcrossstitch.com are all excellent places. I can usually get them for half the price online than I do in stores, but I haven't been to hobby lobby so their prices might be more reasonable
