I am struggling with mana in Act 3 on normal difficulty and often find myself out of mana and no more potions mid boss fights, I can typically keep it up with groups of enemies as I get mana back whenever I kill basic enemies quickly, but I needed a solution and I just found it!
Recently leveled this, Act 3 was a big hurdle. There was just a time where you're strong, but not strong enough to push. Personally, I tried to get Ultimatum done to get that Elemental Expression really got me over the line.
Dude i love this build thank u so much, it makes hella fun to play and is also so strong. Since i tried monk i see no sunlight anymore and thats perfect 😂
Build is working perfectly having 0 issues in t15s and didnt have any issues the whole playthrough apart from some slight mana regen issues that were fixed with 1 item. If you are having major issues on this build then either 3 issues. 1. your items are terrible, please spend your exalts on good upgrades like a high dps weapon, armor with life and resistances and crit rolls where you can etc. 2. you messed up your passive tree order. 3. you are not levelling your important gems or your auras are not active (silly mistake).
@@TheGraavytrain the crit doesnt really come online until around lvl 70+ to be effective, if you are crit at low lvl without a high crit chance or bonus then you wont be doing a lot of dmg
I found someone using Polcirkeln Sapphire Ring unique in a nother build to trigger herald of ice explosions from chill and not freeze. I put it into this build with a weapon that has adds # to # cold dmg and its really nice, storm wave now triggeres aoe cold explosions on mob death too
I think uber late game the Collapsing Horizon Quarterstaff could be interesting to build around making Elemental Expression and some CoC skills actually do damage. Looks theoretically strong at least.
I wanted to thank you. I don't play monk, rather I created an odd ball Bloodmage build that uses very sumilar quarter staff tech to you. You videos have really helped me figire out support links. All the monk content creators have helped me make this abomination work, and its exciting to play something Im sure basically no one else is doing. Im using Stormwave to proc bleeds. Its actually pretty good.
Love the build, just wish we could get some more movement speed somewhere. I’m only level 60, finishing up act 2 cruel mode usually falling asleep cuz I’m just hitting 1 button the whole time 😂😂
your build is a masterpiece, although I keep thinking about how to replace "storm wave" with "tempest Furry" - I love this spell, and add "tempest bell", maybe instead of "orb of storm". I'm just afraid that I'll be too weak at level 80+
Thanks. Last time I tried using only Electrocute, and it seemed bugged-it didn’t generate any power charges. I ended up needing to use a freeze skill to gain charges. This time, I’ll give Focus + Electrocute a try.
Loving your build ! I got fed up with Mercenary and I'm glad I dropped it after remaking a Monk using your build ☺I don't think your written guide or video guide mentions it but what would you recommend for the Venom Draught options from both Act 3 / Act 3 Cruel ?
Considering we get 100% resistance pen off every crit with sunder Im starting to feel like crit chance above 55% might be the way to go. It wont show on the damage page but it will still add lots of damage in theory. Maybe its a good idea to push for as much crit chance as possible within reasonable grounds.
@@walidhentati2727 This is the main problem with monk you have to reach level 14. And then use Tempest Flurry, Orb Of Storms and Bell. Check the description under the creator's build. Everything is well explained.
If you can spare the skill slot just do cast on shock snipers mark for bosses. More crit damage and charges. Might even work well enough on trash mobs to be able to drop combat frenzy as you'd only need to match getting 1 every 5 seconds.
@@ronarray i think he means, that you should add a desc "which points to skill first". I have the same question. I am only lvl. 35 and I dont know which path you went after the basic one.

As a last support you can also try ambush for 100% MORE crit on full hp enemies. Woth 50%+ crit chance youll get a guaranteed crit, very good for one shotting packs.
Great build, love it. Can I ask why Bell isn't included in the setup? It seems like a no brainer to just drop for boss fights for significantly more damage.

Really appreciate the way you respond to questions so often in here - I had a query about the ascendancy choices. How do you feel about taking I Am The Blizzard instead of Elemental Expression - in your guide it states that elemental expression is mostly used for CC and clear, which the build already does quite well, and my thinking is that I am the blizzard will grant enough cold damage to give some freezes on boss fights which would enable Charged Staff upkeep for a little more boss damage, which is arguably the weaker side of the build compared to clear. Have you tested this?

I play the exact same build and your skill tree is slightly suboptimal. Because of the crit passive from the ascendancy crit chance is way more important than crit dmg so the dmg for less chance is actually bad especially because this already has much crit dmg already. The shock tree in the middle while it gives additional crit chance on shock wastes way to many nodes on shock chance which are not at all needed because all 3 waves and the bolts from the proc can apply shock individually. I recommand dropping that branch and going below the quarterstaff section there you can get attack speed and elemental nodes at the same time depending on how many levels ur in
50% Crit and you need only 1 wave from upheaval crit to proc passive. odds will be close to 100%. Playing same build, but not finished cruel act 3 yet. And my passive looks different also.
We don't really care about EE proc. It is mostly 2 points palce holder for Chill and CC. Those nodes are not for shock chance - those are for magnitude which provides one of the best multipliers in the game. Going for Elemental nodes Suboptimal instead and is not recommended.

ruby jewel with 1 rage on melee hit and + % increased melee damage. Second jewel get high critical chance % and critical damage bonus %. 3rd jewel up to you, i took one with mana regen but u can take more crit or something

Hi man im having a blast with this build, could you try testing it out with kitiko jewelled gloves? The constant electrocution even in bosses and rares on sight is a good defensive option and i can still grt 2.08 attacks per second even with the 10% reduced attack speed; then herald of lightning can be specced to pure dmg and you can still cap all resists even with the unique gloves
So I'm wondering since the build currently doesn't really care about power charges, why not drop them entirely? It would allow 3 extra passive points and more spirit to use on a different buff
In his previous video he showed which jewels he was using but he went for a jewel that had % increase crit hit chance, % increase to crit damage bonus, % increased energy shield recharge rate. Another jewel with %increase to energy shield and % increase to crit hit chance, (both these jewels are Sapphire Jewels). the last jewel he had was a Ruby shield that had %increase to melee damage and Gain 1 rage on melee hit ( if you watch his showcase at the start of the video, you can see on the top it shows red stacks which is the rage that increases damage done)
Also if you need more spirit for the other Persistent buffs that he has, he gets more spirit from the Ascendancy node "Lead me Through Grace..." which is on the top of the Ascendancy tree!
Hey, I just dropped Hand of Wisdom and Action Furtive Wraps and I think they can possibly be really good for this build. I have just started leveling my monk so I can play with your build as it looks awesome so I'm going to try it out later in the game. Also how are you dealing with survivability? Idk how it will be later on, but I noticed monk has less survival options than other classes from what I've seen. Do you have any recommendations?
I seem to have some problems reaching the same dmg numbers as you. My weapon currently is at 150% increased physical and 100% increased elemental. Would you say that getting 5 + to skills is better than the 100% elemental?
thanks for the builds, do we ever use spell blade? i saw it mentioned in your early section on moba, "do not get spell blade early", do we ever end up using it or is it bad for build?
Im running spell blad atm in act 3 cruel, from what i understand spell blade only increases spell damage which storm wave is not a spell so ideally we want to prioritise crit once we have our ascendency skill rather than spell damage unless we have free skill points to invest while we level up and get "more important" skills More crit procs = more damage output overall rather than just a flat increase in damage. Then focus on getting good weapon rolls and the build should feel amazing

Does elemental expression deal damage with this build or is it for ailment purposes? I've had friends tell me not to use it because it doesnt scale properly or is bugged.
I took this build into maps and I haven't beaten a single map yet. I'm 0 for 15 on T1 maps. He basically gets one-shot. There's been maps where I walked out of the first room and died instantly. I have 1450 life and 500 ES, 65/75/46/10 resistances. Level 67. 53% on evasion.
I am now 1 of 16. I don't see how this is sustainable. I'll never level up so I"ll never get the passives I need to make myself stronger, and that map literally dropped 1 rare armor which wasn't an upgrade. Where can I go to get gear up?

@@WessauR I'm coming directly out of campaign so it's not surprising that my gear isn't at his level yet.. but I thought T1 maps would be a breeze and it's not the case. I found a grand total of 2 exalts so I can't gear up without finding a lot more.
Is it ideal to start off with the ice strike version and then respect later with crit nodes and gear? Or just go all in on this from the get go. In act 2 and feel like I may under power my monk if I tried right now
When should i change to storm wave ? Since my tempest flurry with active charged staff feels way better against clearing maps especially the yellow mobs or bosses.Rn i´m lvl 52 with just accesed Tier 3 support gems

it can be only activated when you have power charges. So when you have Combat Frenzy active, Resonance keystone taken in passives, and electrocuting mobs during the fight - you start getting your power charges to use charged staff. Author actually said a lot about charges gains during the video
how are you finding the stats to reach 100+ on dex or int?, i cant seem to get both high enough with just passives alone. Like do i sacrifice some armor stats for dex/int?

For anyone having trouble generating charges on bosses, you can use the "sniper's mark" also add you critical damage bonus
You don't really need charges at bosses tbh. Improvement is not that big.
Been leveling with this build and it feels amazing, just hit maps so time to fix my resists.

I think the sweet spot is around 50-60% but testing new tech right now that can improve it.

What do you use in ur Jewel Sockets in the passive tree? btw love this build
Mostly Crit Chance / Crit Dmg jewels.
Pretty sure you get ailment magnitude on jewels too, just not sure if there's a breakpoint.

split into both dex and int. Dex is important for weapon upgrades, int is important for your gems etc

In his previous video he showed which jewels he was using but he went for a jewel that had % increase crit hit chance, % increase to crit damage bonus, % increased energy shield recharge rate. Another jewel with %increase to energy shield and % increase to crit hit chance, (both these jewels are Sapphire Jewels). the last jewel he had was a Ruby shield that had %increase to melee damage and Gain 1 rage on melee hit ( if you watch his showcase at the start of the video, you can see on the top it shows red stacks which is the rage that increases damage done)
Also if you need more spirit for the other Persistent buffs that he has, he gets more spirit from the Ascendancy node "Lead me Through Grace..." which is on the top of the Ascendancy tree!
any jewel with crit chance / crit damage or Lightning damage.
I'm building the build from scratch, but most of the skills in the build don't show up for me, I wonder if they unlock in later levels or something?

you don't deal crit damage if you never crit :)
you need Crit to proc ascendancy passive skill (it hits on Crit)

Hey, I just dropped Hand of Wisdom and Action Furtive Wraps and I think they can possibly be really good for this build. I have just started leveling my monk so I can play with your build as it looks awesome so I'm going to try it out later in the game. Also how are you dealing with survivability? Idk how it will be later on, but I noticed monk has less survival options than other classes from what I've seen. Do you have any recommendations?

I seem to have some problems reaching the same dmg numbers as you. My weapon currently is at 150% increased physical and 100% increased elemental. Would you say that getting 5 + to skills is better than the 100% elemental?
thanks for the builds, do we ever use spell blade? i saw it mentioned in your early section on moba, "do not get spell blade early", do we ever end up using it or is it bad for build?
Im running spell blad atm in act 3 cruel, from what i understand spell blade only increases spell damage which storm wave is not a spell so ideally we want to prioritise crit once we have our ascendency skill rather than spell damage unless we have free skill points to invest while we level up and get "more important" skills
More crit procs = more damage output overall rather than just a flat increase in damage. Then focus on getting good weapon rolls and the build should feel amazing
spellblade was important if u were running comet, now we dont run comet so the spellblade and spell dmg stuff is not important
Do you think it's worth trying adding electrocute to stormwave skill now that it doesn't negatively impact damage? Or maybe just a boss swap?

Does elemental expression deal damage with this build or is it for ailment purposes? I've had friends tell me not to use it because it doesnt scale properly or is bugged.
I took this build into maps and I haven't beaten a single map yet. I'm 0 for 15 on T1 maps. He basically gets one-shot. There's been maps where I walked out of the first room and died instantly. I have 1450 life and 500 ES, 65/75/46/10 resistances. Level 67. 53% on evasion.
I am now 1 of 16. I don't see how this is sustainable. I'll never level up so I"ll never get the passives I need to make myself stronger, and that map literally dropped 1 rare armor which wasn't an upgrade. Where can I go to get gear up?
He is doing 15 you are doing something wrong

@@WessauR I'm coming directly out of campaign so it's not surprising that my gear isn't at his level yet.. but I thought T1 maps would be a breeze and it's not the case. I found a grand total of 2 exalts so I can't gear up without finding a lot more.

How do you generate the aftershock from Shockwave? I tried but mine doesnt have the waves after the Stormwave?

Is it ideal to start off with the ice strike version and then respect later with crit nodes and gear? Or just go all in on this from the get go. In act 2 and feel like I may under power my monk if I tried right now
Both versions are working good for that setup. Read EARLY GAME section of the guide if you decide to try that.

On your stream, you changed your ascendancy. Also, which skill and support are you using to gain rage?
I'm testing different setups now, Jewels gave rage.

You need to get the gem, socket it and then activate it.
When should i change to storm wave ? Since my tempest flurry with active charged staff feels way better against clearing maps especially the yellow mobs or bosses.Rn i´m lvl 52 with just accesed Tier 3 support gems
I think you could use storm wave when you got tier 3 support gem: upheaval, some strong gears (especially weapon) and important nodes of passive tree.
@@phubui_277 i already got the upheavel but just kinda still feels weird.Might be the attack speed issue.Although i have AS on both gloves and main weapon,but don´t have the AS nodes yet.
what about the new patch with the shock and the frenzys is this build playable after the new patch?

Most of it are spirit gems.

It is covered in the video under Charges timestamp - make sure you have Combat Frenzy ACTIVATED, level Herald and so on.
Would bell be helpful for bossing here ?
We cant use bell because of the combo generation.
Hi new monk player here,do i choose dex or int for this build in the passive tree? Should the ratio always be 2:1 dex int?
I would go int up until 100 and rest is dex.
how is your body armour evasion and energy shield so high, io have very much the same body armour but my avasiona nd nergy sheild are way less
You need to roll a lot of those on ALL items, not only body.
What should I prioritize first in this build , I'm level 44 on ACT3 and still can't pass chaos trial
A good quarterstaff with high lightning damage and max life + res on most other pieces for leveling.

You need to take Crit chance - no uniques are needed.
nice job bro i create a monk for u but have a problem and I cant use activate charged staff idk why
it can be only activated when you have power charges. So when you have Combat Frenzy active, Resonance keystone taken in passives, and electrocuting mobs during the fight - you start getting your power charges to use charged staff. Author actually said a lot about charges gains during the video

I talk about that in the video - it is body + ascendancy.
how are you finding the stats to reach 100+ on dex or int?, i cant seem to get both high enough with just passives alone. Like do i sacrifice some armor stats for dex/int?
Getting Dex on items helps A LOT,
