from 1999-2006. racing games + extreme sports games were mega popular. even for those who arent a fan of cars or extreme sport it was just revolutionary at the time to have quality realistic simulation of something normal of real life it change from the mario. donkey kong. zelda. ratchet clank. and all those anime cartoon games now nobody cares about racing game except cars fan & people who have the wheel controler

I still play it event though my ps2 stopped working a long time ago. I just use a ps2 emulator on my computer and you can play every ps2 game for free. It only took me about 30 minutes to get everything working but if it's your first time trying to figure out how to make it work, it'll take a few hours but it's well worth it.
The near perfect physics mechanic in this game has solidified it as a cult classic. For some reason developers moved away from a true physics engine after this one.
I never understood that as I’d go year after year to look for a new game but never came. And your so right about the physics because almost 20 yrs later and we are just now creating games that will compete with it:)

I'm a speedrunner in ATV Offroad Fury 2 and i'm still impressed by the gaps they pull off at times. Even though I beat them very easily even in expert mode using the slowest atv class, at certain jumps they're still more consistent than I am lol
Never let your older siblings "borrow" your stuff. You'll never see your stuff again, and then have to resort to watching TH-cam videos about your stuff that got "borrowed".

This was the best ATV game ever made and MX Unleashed was the best mx game ever made. The sounds of the bikes and rider physics pisses over any of the new current games. So much more fun. Developers need to adopt this style and sound in the new games desperately

Right now I’m 15, and this game was my childhood. I remember two of the maps, one map was a large circle with bumps on the top and the bottom, yeah the map was a waiting line shaped race track, that took place in a stadium, and you gotta zoom right and left and right and left it was amazing. And I always mained the ravage talon, seeing this video invokes feelings in my I haven’t felt in years.
Those songs were in Offroad Fury 1 but I do much prefer ATV 1 music over 2's. I still like 2 better overall because the circuits are amazing and it has a much better career mode as well :)

I have this game on a PS2 emulator on my computer and i'm learning how to speedrun it as it is very fun to learn. It's only been not even 6 days since i got this game and i've already self learned all the optimal jump patterns for almost every track in the game! Very fun game, wish I played it as a kid like I did with ATV Offroad 1 and 4. I can't get 3 to run smoothly on my computer though and I still play 1 and 4 but 2 is the most fun to speedrun :)

Get Midnight Club 3: Complete Edition Remix. It's the most fun racing game on PS2 imo and it's just so darn chaotic in a good way lol Burnout 3: Takedown is also a legendary game as well and I wish it could run smoothly on my computer :/ I first played ATV 2 a few days ago and it is so fun as well, definitely my favorite ATV Offroad Fury game out of the three that i've played (1, 2, and 4)

Holding the buttons to do a nothing (basically a jumping jack over the ATV) and driving around was hilarious cause you look like a glitch.
Most would say that mx vs atv was the best but not imo.... the gameplay feeling and visuals were better in atv offroad fury 2 and mx unleashed imo. I loved those games
