If ur goal is playing collegiate or tier 3 don't forget to find a way to get a headstart on practicing teamplay. Clear and concise comms, 321'ing, strat'ing, counterstrat'ing (u prob wont igl on duelist tho) being able to direct util for a play u want to make, knowing what ur teammates are capable of, and just getting used to playing a fully coordinated team; expecting util, set plays, and followup peeks and common starts. let's go bro don't stop improving. I got placed diamond and no one believed in me that I will succeed in my dream of becoming a pro player, slowly but surely I will get there right now I am top 50 radiant EU and playing highest t3, I won't stop until I get to the top, MAY THE GRIND NEVER END!!!
I'm gonna be so honest, hearing you speak the words at the beginning of the video about how passionate you are about reaching the top levels of valorant makes me re-interested in doing the same. I've been losing a lot of interest in the game since I haven't been playing nearly as much as I used to, but this changes my perspective a bit and even kind of makes me want to start playing again. Good luck to you!
Having talent is one thing, but dedication is almost always the determining factor to whether a person succeeds or not. You can have talent as a very good head start but without practice it will definitely go to waste. So don’t be discouraged man grinding will get you anywhere in life, I believe in you
In the same boat man. Valorant is my first FPS game, I got it last year when I built my first PC late June of 2023. I have over 200 hours in aimlabs and over 1000 deathmatches and probably nearly 1000 ranked matches. I’m currently diamond 3 trying to hit ascendent for the first time and hopefully immortal and beyond after.
This video is really put into perspective of those who think they can’t make it far. You’re a prime example of practice makes improvement AND talent. Regardless if you think you have no talent, someone will admire one’s ability to adapt, practice, and overall achievement of such skills. Talent is in everyone, you’re just not experiencing/exploring it. You have the opportunity to go pro, I believe in you 🗣️💙. Reminder, everyone starts somewhere, you’re going places that’s for sure
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOSS!! bro even after i quit val i still look forward to your videos bro this is kinda inspiring in terms of how it all accumulates into a game also i saw a tdawg video in terms of how collegiate valorant is sort of a joke nowadays but im not all that sure anyway good luck and keep uploading 💖💖
collegiate is not a very high level of play compared to tier 3/2/1, but the players there are still high immo, so i want to try it out before transitioning into actual competition
this was legit what i was hoping for, more gameplay. You show off a lot of your work and finally seeing a glimpse of your potential is crszy. Keep it up
plant at 3:15 is good because it halves the space for defusal and is in the open, you could of gone thru tree which would of been technically easier and safe/ sorry for bad english but i enjoy your vids a lot
I started iron and worked my way up to Ascendant with about 1k hours. I was so determined to make it pro that i would practice everyday. I then got really burnt out and i ended up quitting. About a year later after i quit i see my old teamates hit immortal thinking what i couldve been if i never stopped. Never give up and trust the process.
Hey Korey! I'm lowkey there with you but with rocket league, I started in the depths of Silver (2nd lowest)- though I reached the "1%" in around 950 hours, It still took me another 6 months to even get back to the 1% and get passed it, so in a way I'm also talentless! But I have a question, what do you do when you put a crap ton of hours within a week and see no progress? that's my struggle point right now and its hindering my performance
understand that you train today to reap the benefits in 2 months from now, not today, not tomorrow, not next month. your dedication will pay off!! just remember to make progress and succeed in other areas of life outside of the game, it will lessen the pressure on you to be perfect every single day. its kind of like how when sinatraa was bottom fragging once and chat was making fun of him he just said "i live in a mansion, i think it'll be okay if i bottom frag in one ranked game", it sounds egotistical but the truth is when you are winning in other areas of life, you won't be as stressed out about your performance in game. practice hard, that's all you can do. good luck out there king
This video reminded me of a Stephen King quote: "Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work." Keep going man, this should motivate a lot of people! I myself started grinding comp seriously this week. Hopefully we'll see each other in Immortal!
though i can not say that i have no talent in any regards(i have a better understanding of the game as in gamesense than most) i do find myself lacking in the ability to react quickly(though it had gotten a lot faster now) and my muscle memory and mouse control is quite bad(my muscles are inately weak and they are inconsistent). Seeing someone like you climbing so high gives me inspiration to become better. Greatwork, keep improving
Hey, I just want to express my respect. I reached Iron 2 and peaked at A1, even though I feel like I have little to no talent. Many of my old teammates are immortal or higher. I even lost a friend who I thought I could work hard with to reach our goal of someday making it to masters and hearing the crowd cheering for us. Unfortunately, he betrayed me, and it made me lose interest in the game. I stopped playing Valorant for almost a year, but I recently came back about 2 days ago. I placed G3 and now I'm P2, almost P3. I hope to climb with you on this journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hey Korey, college student and ex semipro csgo player (due to thousands and thousands of hours not talent) I am also trying to push to be semipro in val, at my college. My team is full of radiants so I have a long way to go. Best of luck!
You son of a- If you don't hurry up and realize that the ability to work hard and dedicate yourself is also a talent i swear to god. Keep working at it, but dont you dare say you're not talented. You got this.
not at all trying to make u think less of this accomplishment, but sm1 who had a similar crazy story is kyedae. she practiced, got a ton of coaching, and climbed from silver to immortal in an equally large amount of hours. iron 2 to ascendant 3 is insane and ur really good, i believe in immo this act❤
same age as you and i've only been able to hit ascendant 3, not really sure how many hours it took but I've been in ascendant since episode 7 act 2. my recent games have honestly been so bad and my aim is just all over the place and it definitely feels like I've lost my touch. idk if its burnout cuz I only play like once or twice a day but it sucks
i wanna let you know something: not a single person on this earth is born knowing something, nor are they born being able to do something. Some people are just able to learn faster than others. Regardless, every pro player in this game has put in countless hours of effort into improving themselves in the valorant space. In my opinion, talent in this game doesn't exist; the only thing that separates these people is their willingness to work hard and to never give up. My point is, as long as you want it, like REALLY want it, you can achieve anything you want to. Good luck, and keep shooting for the stars
korey idk what youre talking about, youre really good at the game bro i suck im stuck in gold 2 but i play val for not a long time and im trying to climb to the highest i can reach
Bro turned into an aim demon Your aim is different fr If you can keep it up like this you'll be immortal soon i swear you have your dream and you trying to catch it
Oh boy, you sould've seen me when I first launched valorant... I just coudn't hit a standing bot. And it would be an estimate of 4 years of playing if we take into consideration pauses. I recently started playing again (with my bro) in unrated (as he is plat 2, game wouldn't let us play comp together). So far I wasn't called iron or bronze or gold by enemy ascendants and diamonds (some teammates were), which, I think, mean that I'm doing pretty good for a peak s3
yo bro i am also working hard i was iron 1 when i started like 2 yrs ago i quit for like 1 year and i came back like 2 month ago and i just reached my highest peak silver 2 today and will try to reach gold wish you best :3
took valorant as my first fps game (came from minecraft 💀) and no wonder i got iron 3 (even dropped down to iron 1 0 rr) about a year ago, now im rn ascendant
This guy out here saying he has no talent while me with 500 hrs has managed to climb from bronze..to gold lol. Maybe i am just exceptionally talentless😂
it took me 350 hours of comp, most of it i was watching tiktok and not warming up between games, not aim training, literallly nothing and i got to ascendant 3
While there are a fair few prodigies that pick up the game at a young age with little prior experience and master the game quickly, it is important to note that a large amount of pros and just high level players in general aren't coming in to val as their first FPS, lots of people have thousands of hours on other games like CS, R6s, Fortnite, hell even games like CoD and Halo. All of that gives a pretty significant headstart and depending on how many hours you had in your prior titles, you can adapt VERY quickly to a new one. The takeaway being, talent isn't always something to do with genetics, sometimes it can just be prior life experience that better prepares you for a certain kind of activity. And so, all you have to do is catch up. You should very well be able to reach the peaks of valorant, and anything else for that matter. Every second of your time is weighted equally to anyone else's. That is to say, you got that.
completely agree with you, however the truth is that even in their first games, almost every pro player reached the top 1% within 1k hours or less. i am working hard to catch up, i hope you stick around on my journey :)
I have never seen a video so perfectly describe exactly what I'm going through currently. Im a talentless 17 year old who started playing valorant on launch. Placed Bronze, fast forward 3 years later im ascendant and the worst part is, ive hit a wall and i feel like my skill is lowering instead of improving. I aspire to go pro eventually but thats pretty difficult due to IRL circumstances. Do you have any advice that i should keep in mind because i feel like im slamming my head against a wall. Nice video btw i subbed to watch the journey.
I was iron 3 back in beta days of valorant. Then i mostly stayed in gold/plat elo for a year then suddenly peaked at diamond after upgrading hardware. I've hit my limit.
for anyone trying to practice mechanics, do banana mans iron to gold routine for movement excercise. and kovaaks practice routine/benchamrks, benchmarks to know your aims skill level, and then.
Im 17 yrs old also, Ive played this game for 600 hrs, I started it almost 3 yrs ago, I also peak ascendant 3. instead of spending much time for practising, I do vod review, I have zero aim but I can play the game in a smart way, so that u can try doing vod review aswell
i was bronze after my first placements in ow and after ~8000 hrs i got gm, immediately after this i burnt out and left the game, now I'm trying valorant, placements silver 2, gold 2 rn, ow expirience didn't help me with val xD p.s. didn't play ow for 1 month and feeling great
ther defining factor between proleague and being cracked at ranked is being able to play for the team and not yourself being able to know when to set kills up for others and play for the bigger picture get yourself a 5 stack if you dont have one already and just sync in with them
DUDE YOU PLAYED ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS IN THIS VIDIO DO YOU LIKE NUJABES? also i think i relate to you on the placing iron i just hit bronze 2 and im like 500 hours in to learning the game
im 27 now and i feel so washed after learning after 1000 hours people with talent should be at the highest rank when i was in highschool i was LEM on csgo before 1000 hours wanted to go pro so bad but it wasnt a good time in my life now im gold 1 in valorant and plat 3 in overwatch i know its kinda late in life to have a dream of going pro but i feel like as long as you produce results theres always a chance edit: i didnt have a pc for a long time and i just started to get back into pc gaming i have less then 100 comp hours in val and just over 200ish hours in overwatch the pc comp scene is very different from when i was in highschool so many good players are out there today
im gonna be streaming later !! come drop by

I've been losing a lot of interest in the game since I haven't been playing nearly as much as I used to, but this changes my perspective a bit and even kind of makes me want to start playing again. Good luck to you!
thank you bro!! im doing my absolute best and you should to in whatever dreams you might have
Having talent is one thing, but dedication is almost always the determining factor to whether a person succeeds or not.
Ay bro good luck on ur journey, hope u make it
bro this video BLEW UP. DAAAANG this Korey guy might be him. Great to see you again gng keep it up, 3,5k SUBS DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUUUUUUUUUUMmm
working hardd
yooo good luck in your journey homie
This video is really put into perspective of those who think they can’t make it far. You’re a prime example of practice makes improvement AND talent. Regardless if you think you have no talent, someone will admire one’s ability to adapt, practice, and overall achievement of such skills. Talent is in everyone, you’re just not experiencing/exploring it. You have the opportunity to go pro, I believe in you 🗣️💙. Reminder, everyone starts somewhere, you’re going places that’s for sure
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOSS!!
bro even after i quit val i still look forward to your videos
bro this is kinda inspiring in terms of how it all accumulates into a game
also i saw a tdawg video in terms of how collegiate valorant is sort of a joke nowadays but im not all that sure
anyway good luck and keep uploading 💖💖
collegiate is not a very high level of play compared to tier 3/2/1, but the players there are still high immo, so i want to try it out before transitioning into actual competition
also thank you sm for your kindness
I believe in you bro also nice background music nujabes is so good
Hit immo 3 when I was 14, now hardstuck ascendant as a 17 year old. What I can tell you is, it feels demoralizing.
if this guy here reached this with no talent but mere practice, i can do it too, thanks for giving me that spark of hope
Bro is a monster with that operator
yupp i dont even practice with it 5% as much as my rifle but its still my best gun 😭
LOL ryu being your profile icon is the cherry on top
HOLY that's ironic wtf😭
Petition to name this video series "Korey's KOOKING" 💀
No but like, insane video bro! Entertaining as always!
why kooking with a k ?!? but thank you, will keep tryna make insane videos
@@koreyVAL Since your name is "Korey" ... With a K... NVM xD

omg what a banger🔥🔥
banger comment fr
this was legit what i was hoping for, more gameplay. You show off a lot of your work and finally seeing a glimpse of your potential is crszy. Keep it up
tyty
plant at 3:15 is good because it halves the space for defusal and is in the open, you could of gone thru tree which would of been technically easier and safe/ sorry for bad english but i enjoy your vids a lot
it can be a bit more open (closer to tree), but it is better than planting behind box tbf
its bad because it cant be seen from main only tree and they were main
I started iron and worked my way up to Ascendant with about 1k hours. I was so determined to make it pro that i would practice everyday. I then got really burnt out and i ended up quitting. About a year later after i quit i see my old teamates hit immortal thinking what i couldve been if i never stopped. Never give up and trust the process.
We will make it bro, keep the hard work, you are better than you think 🔥🔥

"Most of the time. Its not that you are talentless, Its that people that surround you are talented. Small or big"
thank you :))
This video reminded me of a Stephen King quote:
"Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work."
Keep going man, this should motivate a lot of people!
I myself started grinding comp seriously this week. Hopefully we'll see each other in Immortal!
thank you! and see you there :)
though i can not say that i have no talent in any regards(i have a better understanding of the game as in gamesense than most) i do find myself lacking in the ability to react quickly(though it had gotten a lot faster now) and my muscle memory and mouse control is quite bad(my muscles are inately weak and they are inconsistent). Seeing someone like you climbing so high gives me inspiration to become better. Greatwork, keep improving
you got it too!! practice hard and you'll make it
Can you give tips and tricks on how to improve aim and how to use jett properly in the next video?
U climbed at beginning without talent; but u ended up fostering your own.
That's insane for you.
I love the colour grading in your videos. Do you play like this or is it something you add while editing?
its an obs filter, i don't play like this :)
The indomitable Human Spirits. MY GOAT
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
you got it man, and thank you for telling your story. i hope u can make it :))
@@koreyVAL Thanks and i hope so aswell
It would be cool to get to see your val tracker to see how far you have come
Hey Korey, college student and ex semipro csgo player (due to thousands and thousands of hours not talent) I am also trying to push to be semipro in val, at my college. My team is full of radiants so I have a long way to go. Best of luck!
you got it man :))
You son of a- If you don't hurry up and realize that the ability to work hard and dedicate yourself is also a talent i swear to god. Keep working at it, but dont you dare say you're not talented. You got this.
Nice job Korey you finally got a good game lets go :)
YAYYY :D
dam nice to see fellow down to top player. I was iron 3 rn im asc 3 but my aim still same tho. Im ranking up only using game sense most of the time
not at all trying to make u think less of this accomplishment, but sm1 who had a similar crazy story is kyedae. she practiced, got a ton of coaching, and climbed from silver to immortal in an equally large amount of hours. iron 2 to ascendant 3 is insane and ur really good, i believe in immo this act❤
Remember... Obsession always beats talent.. I wish you all the best!
thank you so much
korey in voiceover: 😴
korey in a ranked game: 3:54 🤣
LMAOO i was upset with my omen >:(
same age as you and i've only been able to hit ascendant 3, not really sure how many hours it took but I've been in ascendant since episode 7 act 2. my recent games have honestly been so bad and my aim is just all over the place and it definitely feels like I've lost my touch. idk if its burnout cuz I only play like once or twice a day but it sucks
i wanna let you know something:
not a single person on this earth is born knowing something, nor are they born being able to do something.
Good luck, and keep shooting for the stars
korey idk what youre talking about, youre really good at the game bro i suck im stuck in gold 2 but i play val for not a long time
and im trying to climb to the highest i can reach
To stand on the same court as monsters - Oikawa Tooru
This is what gangs feeling rn
REAL
real hard work and consistency will always beat talent in any aspect in life
Bro turned into an aim demon
Your aim is different fr
If you can keep it up like this you'll be immortal soon i swear you have your dream and you trying to catch it
thanks ! im practicing hard every day
Oh boy, you sould've seen me when I first launched valorant...
I just coudn't hit a standing bot. And it would be an estimate of 4 years of playing if we take into consideration pauses. I recently started playing again (with my bro) in unrated (as he is plat 2, game wouldn't let us play comp together). So far I wasn't called iron or bronze or gold by enemy ascendants and diamonds (some teammates were), which, I think, mean that I'm doing pretty good for a peak s3
yo bro i am also working hard i was iron 1 when i started like 2 yrs ago i quit for like 1 year and i came back like 2 month ago and i just reached my highest peak silver 2 today and will try to reach gold wish you best :3
ur defo making it big someday
tysmm
such an enjoyable watch
tysm bro
took valorant as my first fps game (came from minecraft 💀) and no wonder i got iron 3 (even dropped down to iron 1 0 rr) about a year ago, now im rn ascendant
Yet another comment for the algorithm. (Your my goat never stop cooking please)
thank you cj :))
i will keep cooking!!!
This guy out here saying he has no talent while me with 500 hrs has managed to climb from bronze..to gold lol. Maybe i am just exceptionally talentless😂
Me with 600 hrs and hard stuck at silver3
bro is basically road to become Kobe in valorant (kobe is known for putting in tremedous amount of work to get to the top)
my problem isn’t not having talent. it’s solo queuing with teammates that don’t have talent
Bro, u can do that. With high interest and hard work you can reach anything.
man you should add the thanks button i want to support you gl on your journey
i just added it! lmk if it works
@@koreyVAL just did it works :)
yooo OG sub here (i subbed 2 weeks ago), love ur vids.
thank you smm
it took me 350 hours of comp, most of it i was watching tiktok and not warming up between games, not aim training, literallly nothing and i got to ascendant 3
Rock lee of valorant!
i like that nickname, thank you :)
@@koreyVAL Welcome! love your videos!
I've hit my limit.
no you havent, anyone can legit hit immo with good hardware
"hardwork beats talent"
Can’t believe Korey was the Bay Harbor Butcher.
?
for anyone trying to practice mechanics, do banana mans iron to gold routine for movement excercise. and kovaaks practice routine/benchamrks, benchmarks to know your aims skill level, and then.
not a bad idea
Im 17 yrs old also, Ive played this game for 600 hrs, I started it almost 3 yrs ago, I also peak ascendant 3. instead of spending much time for practising, I do vod review, I have zero aim but I can play the game in a smart way, so that u can try doing vod review aswell
i was bronze after my first placements in ow and after ~8000 hrs i got gm, immediately after this i burnt out and left the game, now I'm trying valorant, placements silver 2, gold 2 rn, ow expirience didn't help me with val xD
p.s. didn't play ow for 1 month and feeling great
ther defining factor between proleague and being cracked at ranked is being able to play for the team and not yourself being able to know when to set kills up for others and play for the bigger picture get yourself a 5 stack if you dont have one already and just sync in with them
you've inspired me bro, i've been hard stuck silver for 3 years..
see you in radiant

Good luck, brother.
i belive in you bro you got this
thank you bro
DUDE YOU PLAYED ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS IN THIS VIDIO DO YOU LIKE NUJABES? also i think i relate to you on the placing iron
i just hit bronze 2 and im like 500 hours in to learning the game
filo is the best!! also dw man you got it, keep training
bro is a valorant one punch man
on what app are you recording your games obs or something like that? btw love your videos u can go pro i believe in it.
im 27 now and i feel so washed after learning after 1000 hours people with talent should be at the highest rank when i was in highschool i was LEM on csgo before 1000 hours wanted to go pro so bad but it wasnt a good time in my life now im gold 1 in valorant and plat 3 in overwatch i know its kinda late in life to have a dream of going pro but i feel like as long as you produce results theres always a chance
edit: i didnt have a pc for a long time and i just started to get back into pc gaming i have less then 100 comp hours in val and just over 200ish hours in overwatch the pc comp scene is very different from when i was in highschool so many good players are out there today
wdym too late? ur 27... You can become pro at any time in life?
