There have been studies done that show a correlation between money and happiness up to a certain amount. I believe it was 80k. Once youre past that amount, making more didnt increase happiness. But if youre living paycheck to paycheck, you cant tell me that doubling your salary wouldnt make life easier and more comfortable.

The number fluctuates depending on where you live inflation etc etc etc, but it's really just once your needs are taken care of ie bills, food, housing. Then you're fine. You're happiness wouldn't be higher than someone who makes 500k in the same city if you make 100k

The study he dismissed actually proves both their points. There's a level of poverty that legit has an impact on happiness to around making 75,000 a year.
    But after that.
Making the amount of money people consider rich or wealthy, the sigular act of financial income doesn't make you happy or it's a hedonistic treadmill. That old adage of chasing the dragon. The high is never as good as the first time. Once you break that certain threshold of poverty once, making money in and of itself can't do it anymore.

There is a lot of tunneled vision in Ish's point. He ignores the millions of rich people who are sitting in therapy, have family issues, being extorted, are suicidal, or are perpetually depressed.
The basic ignorance in the Maybach example is a perfect example of his blindness. You keep moving up, because you think each levwl up is a level of "happier" but whwn you get to that level nothing has grown except expenditures, as connections to people have decreased.

It's not just the money, it's the fame and people knowing that you have "money." Furthermore, happiness is subjective.

Both points our valid you need money to survive but not to be happy, Mike Tyson said the best part of his life was he was in prison cause he had peace. Also money bring you some amount of peace but not all that’s why the top ten suicidal rates for employment are lawyers, doctors, and pharmacist. You can’t be happy if you are completely stressed now stress can come from pressure of your job or being overworked so yea if you think you have to be a millionaire to be happy they u gonna be miserable until you become one

Money buys happiness to a certain extent, I went from making 70k 3 years ago to 115k now and I feel like Im in the same space mentally, not much had changed for me other than a car collection I always dreamed of. But regardless I don't feel that happiness I thought I would in achieving that. Now I just feel even more obligated to work to afford my lifestyle and that shit stresses me out.

Most of J.Coles late discography is pertaining to how “ being broke was better”, biggie said mo money mo problems, Kendrick spoke on that topic often through his discography, i grieve different . Many artist speak on how the things that come with the money make having the money feel meaningless. If people don’t have money, the idea of having money and the hope of that idea makes you want money for what you think it could do. People can get money and take care of your family and get everything they want , and realize they never found out what their own personal happiness was because they chased the money in which you would assume what make you happy. You can have all the money and be empty inside. I believe some of the rich people prove it from their actions of apparent boredom or being unfulfilled.

Happiness is subjective...poor in relation to what...you have REAL home and land owners in "3rd world" countries, generational assets passed down as land, property, agriculture...whereas in the states your best is an advanced lease?...Joe is correct...you make happiness until you know better or want more...I think Ish is confusing happiness with "hassle free", some people who retire are miserable, they get a part-time job to stay busy, they're happy working...we WANT money because of what we see as well as are subjected to in a "1st world" country"...what happiness does money bring a man marooned on an island, no stores, etc. What has having money alleviated in that instance to bring joy...

Money isnt supposed to be as important as the world makes it seem. Ive been dead broke and happy before. Our thoughts on the world are manipulated by this society that we've been forced to play apart in. Making money the middleman between us as people and existing comfortably was the biggest mistske in human history

I don’t think money buys happiness but it can solve 90% of most peoples issues. I know for me personally money could solve literally all of my issues at the moment. I realize it can’t make me happy but it can certainly solve the vast majority of my issues.
