This collection of Batman Returns McDonalds Fast Food Commercials is courtesy of our network site, Legions of Gotham.
If only they would still do this. This is what made it fun to want to go see the movie. Kids today will never know the excitement kids experienced in the 80s and 90s with all the advertising aimed at us.
That's because what we wanted we got at McDonalds those days.

Ok, I may be born in the year 2000's which was the year you 80's/90's elitists hate so much but as much as I have respect to the 80's and 90's? the only problem I have with those years is the elitists fanbases that keep using that term "kids today" as an insult.
It's just more plastic for people to eventually throw out.

I collected all those Batman toys. I think I even had my birthday at McDonalds that year, and I got all kids of Batman toys. Ironically my parents wouldn’t allow me to watch Batman Returns back then because I was 6 years old...but they let me play with all the toys...
I love how people talk about how much of a controversy this was for McDonald.....yet they still sold toys and collectors cups, and continued to the following year with Batman the Animated Series, again in 1995 with Batman Forever in 2005 and following....some controversy....

This had to been in another country I don't remember McDonald's selling pasta
I wish they had toys of Penguin gushing dark blood from his mouth like the scene before he dies, or a Catwoman one with Bullet holes like how Max Shrek shot her, or even Penguin's Caravan where it's intended to have firstborn kids drowning in a watery grave. ;) oh or even just the button Penguin pushed into that young woman's 'chest'. Then I would have never eaten at Burger king again. ;)

I remember having the cup with Selina and Bruce on it as a kid. Probably the lamest one of the bunch lol. As an adult, though, I have the whole set. Even have the frisbee disc lids for all of them. I'm not even a huge fan of Batman Returns as I think it's too much of a weird Tim Burton movie more then a Batman movie, but I do really enjoy collecting the McDonald's stuff.

McDonalds shortly discontinued the happy meal and cups back in 1992. I was 12 at the time, and I vividly remember the uproar over the movie not being for children and McDonalds being irresponsible for selling toys to such a non-kid friendly film. I was like: The movie is PG-13, so it’s not recommended for young kids. Parents need to take it upon themselves to preview movies to make sure kids can handle it. Of course, the late 80s and early 90s were an odd time, as lots of R-Rated films like Robocop, Terminator, Aliens, and even the Toxic Avengers got cartoons and action figures, even though the movies weren’t age appropriate. I even remember thinking at the time the Penguin’s plot to drown the newborn kids of Gotham was deliberately trying to get people pissed off, as controversy usually sells more tickets.
I Agree These Dumb Retarded Parents Thought This Film Was Too Dark And Inappropriate For Children This Lead To Joel Schumacher Becoming The New Director And His Batman Movies Are Terrible Batman Forever Is A Terrible Film And The Next Film Batman And Robin Is A Goddamn Car Crash Of A Movie Oh My God It’s Terrible The Poor Reception Of Batman And Robin Lead To Batman Unchained Getting Cancelled Because Of It Christopher Nolan Took Over And Made Batman Dark And Gritty Again

i literally just spent over $300 on old batman VHS tapes, toys and McDonald's memorabilia on ebay as a Christmas gifts to myself. LOL. nostalgia is running wild tonight. LOL i mean, who the hell buys old Mcdonalds batman paper bags and french fries boxes??? smh.

McDonald's withdrew their range of Happy Meal toys for the film Batman Returns, after complaints from parents that the film was unsuitable for children. I was told by that 30 years back.

My respect to Batman: The Animated Series along with the other Batman cartoons like Beyond and 2004 which I'm starting to think I enjoyed alot more than the movies now has gained ever since I first watched them on KidsWB!,Jetix,Cartoon Network/Toonami, and The Hub before forcing myself to watch that overhyped Batman 1989 movie on Netflix when I was 13 everytime the toxic elitists in the comments keep using that same old "kids today" insult as an example of why I always think it's blind toxic elitists who always give classics a bad name lol.
