God, this takes me back, I used to play the shit out of this game when I was a kid. Brings back fond memories of my childhood, I can't remember if I completed the game or not, the last level was bloody hard!

My mother used to get angry for me playing games all day, and would try to chase me out to play, but I was unstoppable. I am almost 50 now, but the theme of this game flashed me back to my childhood. It lasted a second, but almost brought tears in my eyes. I still play games and I know that to kids today this looks retarded, but this was quality entertainment in that time, what VR is today.
One of my all time favorit games from back then.... Gosh i spend a trillion hours playing it ... others were the Blagger serie and simular type of platform games LOVED em ... :P
oh the memories playing this game. i renamed the game Pokey Bum all those years ago because I would constantly get stabbed in the butt by those knights 🤣🤣🤣
Conceptually really cool game. Quick run through all levels backwards as intro. The minimap showing the overall progress. The wall climbing dude as time limit. And a classic story ;-)
Thanks for proving to me I'm not mad. I was sure I used to play this on the Sinclair Spectrum all those years ago but until now have never found any mention of it. I could never get past the first screen with the guys with the spikes but for a 5 year old that's not bad I don't think.
Absolutely loved this game on the commodore 64! So many hours spent playing after school. Have been searching for a modern replacement and there's a game called "The Rescue" in the iTunes AppStore that brings back the memories... check it out!
@dmd185 Look out at ebay and you will propably be able to get a working C64 pretty cheap. Just don't buy the first one you find, be patient and observe, so you get a good deal. Then there are different possibilites to get games you download from the internet to play on your real C64, either using a cable to transfer them from your PC to real disks (cheap), or using one of the modern drives for the C64 that take SD cards (more expensive, but also easier, more reliable and shorter load times)

dolphin dos or a fast loader fixed that ;-) . be thankful you didn't have atari 8 bit .. tape loading times , slow.. i'd set the game up 20 minutes before I wanted to play it (elektraglide.. amazing game.. ish loading time)
The $ was for the directory, wasn't it ? You didn't need ,1 for the dir. AFAIR. You only needed it for loading the actual program, when used with a * And that was for you lucky disk drive owners! My bro & I had a datasette for many MANY years. So it was just LOAD and then next program on the tape came up, eventually!!!! Ghostbusters was 57 on the counter!!
I can relate, i found this game more depressing than Bongo Bongo, definitely in the same mind numbing league as Aztec Challenge. Blue Max was a ton of fun compared to this ;)
That 5 minutes are usually 1h for a kid until you get skilled enough to do it faster. We had so many small games so after a week or so people play the same one again... Good old times
