I brought a 2nd hand 7480 ( at core i5 7300u at 8GB DDR4 2133 mhz, 14" Intel UHD 620 graphic ) at HK$1200, very good price, with 256GB NVMe Toshiba SSD. Then I added 16GB DDR4 making it 24GB and I replaced a 2TB Transcend NVMe SSD at HK$899, then I hackintosh it running WIndows 10 + Mac OS Big Sure 11.7.6, very good machine at least me, and value for money.

My dell 7480 was a junk pile laptop, so I fixed it up and threw Zorin on it and gave it to my mother, definitely runs better now than her old apple laptop. Its a pretty neat device, and with how much i sunk into it (not much since m.2s were 60% off and ram was relatively cheap), its super worth it to me.
A 7480 is my current laptop, and I have Zorin on it as well! I'm happy as a lark

I brought a excellent refurbished dell 5400 with a i5 8265u 8gb ramn and a 256gb ssd but my question is can i upgrade the wwam slot with a m.2 ssd and i know its a 2242 size ssd but is it sata m.2 or can i use a nvme ssd in that slot

Brother, can you tell me which one is better among these two: latitude 3380 and Latitude 7440.
I'm gonna buy a used Laptop and am being offered both at the same price but with different specs:
3380 comes with i3 6th, 8gb, 128gb ssd (but small screen)
7440 comes with i5 4th, 8gb, 256gb ssd.
Now I'm confused as hell and can't makeup my mind.
Bro you should get the 7440 it has better technology and the 3380 also has some heating issues
Checking out a 7480 with 16gb ram. Don’t know much about specs besides ram. can it do video editing? 1080 quality video editing? I have an even older Dell I use for editing but it crashes a lot

Works perfectly with Photoshop. Wouldn't recommend for heavy video editing with premiere pro though.

does the mouse nub (i dont know what they're called) get in the way of anything? Are there any advantages to using it over the mouse track?
I don't think the nipple mouse (also not the technical term) gets in the way of anything. It serves its purpose more so in professional applications than regular stuff like web browsing.
Playing FPS games with it is also novel, but that'll get old fast.

@@danthuman When I think of a nub outside of the context of a laptop, I think of the end of an amputated appendage.
In that sense, I would rather consider it a nipple mouse than a nub mouse.
Is this a good pc for drawing? Thinking about getting a Wacom tablet and I need a pc for it.
I bought the 7480 for my wife. She runs clip studio paint pro on a 2021 Huion kamas 16 using the thunderbolt cable and it functions flawlessly. 16gb ram with an i7 is more than enough to run clip studio. Photoshop may be a different story tho.

Which would you say is better, the dell latitude 7480 or latitude 7370?
I can't find a 7370 with a Core i CPU, only Core m's. If battery life is king and you don't mind the smaller screen, go for the 7370.
If it's only part of the equation and you need a PC to do PC things with, you'll enjoy the 5480 much more.
