I lived in Asia (S Korea and Vietnam) from 1995 - 2012 and only returned to the US so my daughter could attend school here. Though I'm grateful for the education she has received, I can't stand the lifestyle here and can't wait to return abroad when my daughter graduates and goes to college in 2027. And then I have no intention of returning other than to visit her ... if she remains in the US. I'm hoping she will decide to live abroad as well.
Hi @allwaysbemoving, Would you like to be a guest start on one of my videos? Here is an example guest star video: th-cam.com/video/ySM_2jAC4v4/w-d-xo.html Your interview could be just your voice or we could do a zoom call showing your face. If you would like to be a guest star and share your story please leave a personal message here: vagabondbuddha.com/contact/ Thank you for your comment. The detail of your comment makes this real for people. If you have a business, service, or TH-cam channel, you could share that on the interview. Best, Dan
Expat 37 years I never consider returning to the USA for a full year. I just think about which 3 or 4 countries are next. I have confidence that I can make as much or more overseas as I can in America
Dan, I'm 63 now and still doing the grind here in the USA. I found you and my other favorite vloggers during the pandemic and finding you was the best part of that time period. Your insight and video travels have done more for my future outlook than my 35+ years of work life. Now, I have something to really look forward to upon retirement and I've changed my views on vacations. I now never take less than a 2-week vacation as I know that my first week is to decompress from the grind back home. Your description of vacationing while working and realizing that you needed to leave whatever paradise you were in is spot on! I love your ability to live your best life and supplement your income with your skillset! I'm playing catch up with your videos, but every time I watch a new video, I realize it's like checking in on an old friend and I absolutely love this. Sooooooo,.... Where will you take us next?
The other thing you missed or dodged in the USA is divorce and having to start over when you're 45 or 55. You are a lucky and smart guy!! Now I'm getting set to leave the USA and won't even date here anymore. I'll be following in your footsteps within a year.. Keep up the great videos.
You're the best! That is like tipping a waiter you like 30%. Very generous. You are helping pay for everything it takes to make these videos. Thank you so much.
@VagabondAwake I'm at a crossroads,so not yet. Having to care for elderly parent and all my investments hinging on the economy have it all in limbo. But hoping it will be a go in the near future. I hate being in the United States as a hostage!!!
Im 48 years old retired with a city of new York pension for life I own a gorgeous house that's paid off in Brooklyn new York as bad as I want to live abroad I'm so nervous to sell my house and leave forever because I know how hard and expensive it will be to come back and replace everything. So I decided to live overseas six months out of the year. I can't believe you been traveling for 17 years that's truly amazing that you've been traveling to different countries for all that time. God bless you. I'm sure having your girlfriend traveling with you makes it easier than being alone and traveling.
@@CosmicSeeker69that's the worst advice I've ever heard. I brought my house in 2000 for 200k now it would sell in one day for 1,400,000.00$. Real estate is the best because of owning this one home it will make my retirement super easy.
Don’t sell your house 🙄!! Rent your house out and it will fund your travels !! Plus you’ll keep what is most people’s most expensive asset!! Don’t overthink things and don’t make hasty mistakes. I’ve been travelling 🧳 for 9 years now and I’m in my fifties . My plan is to continue as i am and until I’m unable to. You only get so much time on this planet 🪐 and time passes so dam quickly so get yourself prepared and ready to set off on a fantastic retirement 💪✊👊🙏I wish for you to find your hopes and dreams and have the best retirement ever 🙏god bless you
I agree with you accept I'm from Canada. If I didn't have adult children and grandkids, I'd never come back. Don't get me wrong I love Canada but the cost of living makes it difficult to get ahead. Another great video Dan. Travel safe and Be well.
I’m curious how you would manage important documents like Social Security cards of birth certificates? I would prefer digitizing and destroying them, but I’m not sure that’s a good idea. I would prefer not to keep them with friends or family either.
You have a wonderful channel. May I ask where your companion is from and how you met her? She is a beauty and seems so nice and laid back. I would love to meet someone like that.

I love your insights, Dan. I'm 5 years deep in my expat journey, all South America, and always learn from you.
Where in S America do u like best ?
Corporate Greed? Work/life balance? Divisive politics? Healthcare scam? Cost of living? Just a few guesses.
Nice try. Give up yet? If only I had made a video about it. :-)

Yes sir! Me exactly
I was divorced at 51 years of age. She took more than half.
Funny, you never see a video titled “He Wiped Me Out in Divorce.”
This really resonates
Qiang always walks like she's on a mission.
She always is. A very determined individual.
Yes! Better than always eating!

Love the videos!! Can you do videos for disabled Americans under 50 on SSDI for medical tourism?
Thanks for the story. I love it. I wish I could do this with a beautiful woman like yours.
