I usually try not to censor too much, but there was something about this one that YT really didn't like (go figure), and they don't tell you exactly what the problem is so I had to get pretty broad to get it approved. Hope you still enjoy it!

The vomit scene had me crying in the theater! It goes on for so long, and the way they make Gary shudder and shake as the flow starts to spray and sputter is just hilarious. The zoom out on his pool of vomit is the perfect cap to the scene.

The South Park guys didn't have an issue with Matt damon, when they got the puppet back it looked really bad and they thought it looked like it was mentally impaired or something. So they did that joke just because the puppet looked so stupid they didn't hate Matt Damon personally

As a composer of musical theater songs myself, you are absolutely right! This team writes great songs. This movie, the South Park movie, in fact most of their projects could correctly be called musicals. No one ever calls them that, of course, lest anyone be scared off. But yes, they write great parody songs because... they know how to write great songs.

"As actors, it is our responsibility to read the newspapers and then say what we read on television like it's our own opinion."
Fun Fact: The Michael Moore puppet was stuffed with ham before it was blown up.
Lost In Translation Fact: When the Film Actors Guild decides to go to North Korea, the members all shout "Qapla!" which is Klingon for success.
Matt Damon Fact: Originally, Matt Damon was going to be portrayed as intelligent and articulate, but when they saw the puppet, they noted that it made him "look retarded" and decided to portray him as such. Unfortunately, I personally can no longer take Matt Damon seriously anymore. Whenever I see him, all I hear is "Matt Damon!" ringing in my ears.
MPAA Hacks Fact: Due to a puppet sex-scene, the movie was given a NC-17 Rating by the MPAA. The scene was edited nine times before they received the R rating they were shooting for. Trey Parker later admitted that the scene was originally added to distract the MPAA from the rest of the film's subject matter. On Matt Stone's urging, the scene was reinstated on the "unrated" DVD.
Blink And You'll Miss It Fact: The statue in Jong-Il Kim's palace is actually a human in heavy makeup. In the first scene in which he appears, you can see his eyes blinking. In the overhead shot of Gary lying in the giant puddle of vomit, it is actually Trey Parker wearing a pair of fake legs so his proportions more closely match those of the marionettes. The "vomit" was a mixture of soup and beer. As a subtle detail in the opening scene in Paris, the streets are paved with croissants.

Very observants noticing the croissants pavements in Paris; here are a few more:
    * The engagement ring in Paris is handed by a human hand.
    * The slums in North Korea are made of Chinese takeout boxes and Japanese cocktail umbrellas.
    * The giant statue of Kim is actually a person, and it sometimes moves.
    * Gary is wearing a towel over his head in Cairo.
    * When Sarah shoots up the Cairo bar, she only hits the terrorists; the dancer, bartender, and other obvious civilians remain standing unperturbed.
    * The plants in Panama are marihuana and made from US Dollar bills.
    * There is a goldfish with the submarine (making it obvious the sub is toy-size).
    * Gary still has the suicide hammer with him when he is in the bar.
    * The prison bars in NK are made of pretzel sticks.
    * Spotswood always holds a glass with a drink; after he survives the bombing, the glass is broken, but he still holds it. (Later it is again whole).
    * Kim introduces himself at his "Peace Conference".
    * Kim's perch at the Peace Conference is decorated with missiles.
    * Zaire, One of the countries in the Peace Conference, was no longer called Zaire at the time the movie was made (it changed it's name to Democratic Republic of Congo in 1997).
Also, one of my favorite moment, when Spotswood gives the suicide hammer to Gary, with everyone expecting something like a poison pill; the point is that poison can't hurt puppets, if you want to kill a puppet, a hammer is more appropriate. In the same vane, when Gary says that he is "all dead inside", that's exactly accurate, as he is a puppet -- appearing to be alive on the outside, while really dead on the inside.
    Dan.

Lease: The Musical. If anything was ripe for parody, it's f**king RENT. Objectively the main characters of that musical would be the villains in any other story. One murders a dog for money, another had a job teaching at a prestigious university and by the end of the story is rewiring ATMs to steal money, another is an untalented performance artist who is a serial cheater, cheating on two people who she was in relationships with, and uses their feelings for her to continue to ask for favors even after they've broken up.
Another is a lawyer who encourages her friends to break into and live on private property after they've been legally evicted. All of the "friends" encourage their musician friend, who had just gotten done getting himself clean and sobber, to start dating a teenage stripper who is using drugs even after they find out she was using. And the "bad guy' of the story was going to allow his friends to stay in a massive loft apartment in New York RENT FREE and give them a space to work on their passion projects. But instead, they ruin his business plans forcing themselves to start paying RENT like everyone else on the planet, they bitch about it and make it seem like he's the "bad guy."
Good thing the music is catchy otherwise that is horrible, horrible story.

Book of Mormon is the best of the musicals I've seen from the past 20 years or so.
Most other recent musicals that I've seen (not that many, to be honest) seemed half-baked and had low quality songs compared to musicals from the 50s through 80s.

Is this an X-rated movie? Is rubbing two pieces plastic together sexy?

😄👍 What this, "Empire Records" and "The Big Lebowski" have in common are that they were complete flops in theaters, but have all more than made up for it over the years by somehow managing to garner huge followings on home video. 😸 If you liked this, then another film you will definitely enjoy is "Top Secret!" (1984) which was made by the same guys who made "The Naked Gun."
