She has the potential to be #1 in the world when she matures, and seems to be being managed correctly to avoid burnout for now. I hope, that is, at least what we can tell from an outsider perspective

      After 20 years of playing piano I developed perfect pitch. I suspect it has to do something with the fact that I started to play violin. Now I'm able to recognize a violin player with and without perfect pitch. Chloe Chua has very fine perfect pitch.
      If you want to know what I hear, the orchestra sounds as a "cloud" of tones roughly between a=438-440 Hz. They are not consistent and they slightly change tuning during the composition. People without perfect pitch do so. Chloe keeps playing at 438 Hz since the first note, no matter what orchestra is doing. Only musicians with perfect pitch are able to play like this. Listen to it again and again. Chloe's first tone is slightly lower then orchestra. Can you hear it ?

I watched many other violinists playing this but either they play too fast or not as emotional as this. Maxim Vengerov 's rendition is also very good which i have listened to it many times. What a wonderful stroke technique Cloe has. Her vibrato is very smooth and natural.Beautifully played and good in combination with the orchestra.

    Thanks to TH-cam I have the facility to see and hear countless interpretations of this work, both by fans and established stars. Pleasantly surprised by the good overall sound of the orchestra and Chloe Chua's intonation, plus her poise when playing the violin. I put it on my favorites list.

    i have listened to many interpretations of this piece by other soloists and chloe's is the only interpretation i wholeheartedly like, others either feel just a bit too rushed or idk, just not as simple yet emotional as chloe's.

    • @jackburgess274
      @jackburgess274 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Perhaps you feel as you do because Chloe is more faithful to the religiosity of the piece, which Massenet marks "andante religioso."

    • @agkdjsdjkd
      @agkdjsdjkd ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@jackburgess274 i think i've read other comments saying this too so maybe! i also feel like when the tempo is slower it's harder to express the subtle emotion between those seconds idk and chloe does that so well that it just really touches my heartstrings

      I think Chloe's personal spirituality really helps in this piece (and in her performance of The Lark Ascending too).
      But more generally, I agree that her genius - her sensitivity, musicality and emotional/spiritual depth - is most evident where the tempo is slow. From Vivaldi through to Piazzolla, and whether sacred or secular, her adagios and andantes are gold standard, and truly outstanding in comparison to absolutely anyone.

    • @agkdjsdjkd
      @agkdjsdjkd ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jackburgess274 agreed! i haven't heard a lot of her other works in depth, but for sure the slow tempo here at least i feel really lets her emotional depth show through
