    Taking more time to separate will give a fuller, more uniform look, but as a soft, fine (and thin) haired girl myself, i agree it's a lot of work to only last one day! And even then you're fluffing periodically to try to keep it from going flat.

    You definitely needed to separate each curl to get more curls. It can work for us fine haired naturals!!

    U could have seperated it a little more. U got nice hair. But i think u could have styled it a little more.

    Girl I had the same problem
    Thin hair is no joke
    I feel like it's so hard to find a way to add volume 😕

    Omg! I feel so much better now that I know it's not just me. I watch all of these TH-cam videos and I see these lovely styles and they just don't work out for me on my thin 4b/c hair. They are epic fails. I started buying all kinds of products thinking it was the products I was using. It just never happened. Definitely subscribing to your channel now that I have found a kindred spirit.

      Dolores Reid I thought I was the only one. Some of these TH-cam channels will have you thinking it’s a certain product you need or step you missed. I learned my hair and what styles work for me and I stick with those. I love channels like this that show realistic results

    For those who want to still try this...I think trying less product example after washing and conditioning use a light leave in spray, like half leave in and half water. Then on damp hair seal with a very very light oil only about a nickel size for entire head. Hair should be damp not soaking wet! Then use much bigger perm rods and smaller sections of hair. Then separate curls as desired and style.also try this method on blowed out hair for even bigger results.

      Separate more with your finger don't pull hair it will become frizzy. Use more rod in back and some bigger rods in front work with it I believe it will work out no pulling

      My hair is as thin as yours.if not more thin.i try the perm rods.flexy rods so many times i started to gave up.until i realized i have to seperate the curls in many pieces.then i start liking it.try it again and this time before u do so watch a few videos on youtube how the seperated the curls.and u might like it.the more u do it the more u will like it

    Sis, it looked fine It's all in your head. LOL! Take time to separate. You could have added a few more rods. That would have given you more fullness. Try plaiting maybe 3 turns at the root THEN roll. Also, try the horizontal roll vs. the spiral one that you did. Honestly, sis. It was a nice set.

  • @kathyterrell2054

    If you go through all that time you need to take time to separate each curl so it can get full. The curls are beautiful it just takes time.

  • @krysdekel
    @krysdekel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I like it! With more separation, it would be full and really cute, but I do understand. My hair is fine and styles only last one day, so styles that are too much work aren't worth it.

    We have the same exact hair, honestly I think that looks so cute and it’s a great protective style all you need is some edge control and that’s it.

  • @nnaturalheaven3754
    @nnaturalheaven3754 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Yes I so agree its a waste of time. I have fine, thin 4a hair and when I do a perm rod set I'm disappointed with the results.I was looking for fuller but Its not about needing more fluff or separating to spring the curls, its becuz I realized after doing them twice I just get similar coils I already possess and didnt have to to deal with the long technique of perm rodding and heat drying before I can style or leave. Same type of curls but with very messy parts I have to use a pick and cover up and coils that actually infact do not look prettier than my own coils in any way shape form or fashion. They just look artificial and unnatural dangling there and I go right back and wet my hair and get my own coils back. I feel the same way about twist-outs, even worse, unless I just wanted a wave look over my coils for the day.

    Has haaa. That was hilarious. Your hairs the same as mine, I was thinking was it my technique before, but after seeing your results I can see it’s our blooming hair. Keeps playing the game of find the scalp🤣🤣 or let’s play head patches🤣🤣🤣

  • @sebrya8019
    @sebrya8019 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    you needed to twist it at the root so the roots didn’t get frizzy like that, then separate the curls a bit. the perm rods weren’t the problem, it was you.

    Our hair is the same. I chucked the wigs and let it stretch air dry because it's fine and big. I rock updos I am experimenting with it and mainly loving on it. I am going to try the large magnetic rollers and I will upload .

    Thx for posting. I have fine hair as well, but it's more 4b/c. I wish you had separated the coils more, but at least you tried for all of us who haven't. I still may try myself. #subscribed!

    On the top and front separate the curls three to four times and it would have been more fuller looking and more to your liking. But great job and video you still look fabulous 👌.

    You should keep unraveling each curl which would add some more volume

    Try doing these set styles, (twist out, braid out, bantu knot outs, rod sets, etc.) on damp stretched hair. Just spritz with water to reactivate the leave- in then maybe add a little cream. hth.

    I have fine hair also but my hair is more dense. I do two strand twists and then put the perm rods in. Having fine hair though the curls only last 3 days tops.

    Your my hair twin. People say separate it and/or style it “more”. That’s gonna be a NO Sis…it’ll just UNdefine it. Lol…been there. You and your hair are BEAUTIFUL. This does not work for me either - I respect your honesty and your opinion. 🙏🏾

    Your hair turned out cute. I think if you pinned back the left hand side that is touching your forehead ( your right) to give you more height and volume that would of set it off nicely (I always have to do this and it works a treat) and a tad bit more separation of your curls it would of looked even sweeter. Dont give it, it looks nice on you.

    When I FINALLY get a natural style I really like. It is so fragile, it does not last more than a few hours. After that, I will look in the mirror and almost faint while running for cover. WHY?? Love it when it is good. A few hours (maybe) of heaven.

  • @acluvac40
    @acluvac40 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your curls are cute but I feel ya. I stopped doing the per rods cause they take a long time to put in, dry and take out. But I do think that if you separated all your curls, you would have had full style, maybe a curly or a curlyhawk. Rod sets look great when you separate the curls and ",put" the curls where want them to be! ".

  • @jasmainjasmain2906

    I actually got a lot out of this video. It’s really hard to find anyone online with hair close to mine. I feel the opposite, I think I could do this while my hair is growing out but will require a lot of separating! And my hair grows in a mullet! It always grows faster in the back!

    Your hair looks like mine used to look. You may may be suffering from hydra fatigue. You may need bond repair. It looks mushy. Also leaving a conditioner in your hair for 24 hours is a no no I used to do the same thing near here should not be wet that long. It will cause hair shaft disorders like what I had look it up I want to help you.
