**Part 3 of 3
If Scissorhands was released today like it was in December, Johnny Depp would've had an Oscar nomination the fact he didn't get even a nomination for this performance is insane.
3:20 Take a look at the titles of the box-office list of this year...
Dances with wolves
Goodfellas
Back to the Future Part III
Home alone
Die Hard 2
Total Recall
Born on the Fourth of July
Misery
Pretty Woman
Predator 2
The Hunt for Red October
Ghost
Presumed Innocent
The Exorcist III
Jacob's Ladder
Child's Play 2
Most of these movies are now classic This was a very creative era for Hollywood. I miss these years :( And I hate CGI.
This movie didn't get nominated for a LOT of Oscars that it deserved. Best Actor (Johnny Depp) Best Supporting Actress (Diane Weist) Best Director (Tim Burton), Best Original Score(Danny Elfman), etc. So many that it didn't even get considered for. Best Production Design was nominated but outrageously didn't win. I do feel that if this film was released today, it would recieve a lot more praise. I guess the Academy was half-asleep that year and just wasn't paying attention.
it is so sad that people are starting to forget Edward Scissothands
Slanette Man, I'd never. I love this movie so much 😭
No i was just 7 or 8 back then, but i still watched the movie. Im 37 now.
NEVER !
I'm not sure they are. Scissorhands is a cult classic. Watch it once and you're hooked.
currently crying because of the absolute love I have for this movie
Me too i love it so much
Same
I love Edward Scissorhands,it's the only Edward that deserves fandom. (in my opinion) and his eyes omg they're perfect
I feel so bad for Edward, he's so sweet and kind and he gets pushed around all the time. This movie brings tears to my eyes. This is a truly amazing movie!
The film score is absolutely beautiful. The combination of that and Johnny Depp's amazing portrayal of his character can arouse some pretty powerful emotions :)
I still love this movie till this day. Never gets old.
I cried at the end of the movie, i'am crying right now! its such a Beautiful movie!! haha
cheeo 1620 ME TOOO!!
Still gets me every time. Danny's OST he made truly gives off this sad cold wintery feeling that I love.
vincent, tim, johnny and danny elfman together created a true masterpiece I will always love with all my heart!
Tim's work is universal unique and timeless. I love this movie.
it is actually my favorite. It's a shame there was not much of a recognition for this masterpiece
scissorhands and beetlejuice will *ALWAYS* be the classic Burton stylee
Johnny Depp is an amazing actor and this is amazing film. Dany Elfman songs in this film are amazing. Johnny Depp is so sweet like Horsey1magic says
Tim Burton is by far, my most favorite director of all time, I just love his ideas, and his crazy style of thinking. Every one of his movies are just amazing.
Is there anything cooler than seeing how a movie is made?!! Especially your favourite movie!♥
Danny Elfman is truly an exceptional composer.
wow didnt kno there was so much emotion put into this film....made me love it even more
This is and will ALWAYS be my FAVORITE movie ever!!!!! I connected with the character to a freakin T and brings me to tearing up EVERYTIME I watch this movie
Johnny Depp is an amazing actor and he is definitely my favorite! And Tim is a pure genius: Johnny+Tim=Incredible!
I love this film but I hadn't seen it for years and I recently saw Matthew Bourne's ballet version in London and I fell in love with the story, characters and music all over again and it made me come back to the film. One of Tim's best films.
I saw it today with my college!!! I all got to meet Matthew Bourne too!
Fabian Amis isnt the production brilliant and magical, Matthew has captured the story beautiful and your lucky to met him. I look forward to seeing more of his productions.
Edward Scissorhands literally made me cry at some parts :3 Sometimes he just looked like he needed a hug.
this is my fav burton movie, its not just about the struggle to fit in, its about the fight to be accepted for who you really are and that means alot for me.
I'm not going to lie, I actually did cry when I watched this movie. Just how Johnny's eyes tell that he doesn't want to hurt anyone... My ultimate favorite movie!!! (:
God I love this movie more than I love anything else in the world
Jonny Depp has been my FAVORITE actor and this movie just takes all the cake and the best icing ever!!!!!! He didn't even have to talk and it just moved me in every way possible!!!!
This movie is set apart . This movie is a part of my life in ways I can't explain ... I grew up watching this movie I was born in 1990 and just remember watching it constantly and loving it ... Connecting with it . Johnny depp , Tim burton have made a true masterpiece with Edward .. it's an amazing film and I'll always love it ... Its pure .. it's amazing .. it's incredible .
This made me tear up so bad!!. And makes me feel that if you put in the work, your dreams can come true....
I was just short of cringing when Danny Elfman described the test audience's reactions. How could anybody watch this movie and be on Jim's side? It's pretty lucky the general public sided with Edward after it came out. :)
I know! That was shocking to hear
I'm certain i'm not alone in feeling like after hearing about them having that kind of reaction just relate to Edward even more
Yes, I love what the lady says at the end, that everyone feels like Edward Scissorhands at some point in his/her life. So true. I feel that way now. Tim Burton has defintely described my teenage years to a T.
It's one of my favorite movie. I heart Johnny Depp.
I just love this movie! Edward is just so gentle and mysterious , I like him so much that I would do anything for him if he was real=O I always loved this movie ever since I was a little girl! It always makes me cry in the end... Love this movie and love Johnny Depp
Edward on the waterbed! That scene is so cute :D
From part 2:01 to 2:07, Johnny depp's expression not only made me cry and sympathize for the character but it also shows johnny's acting prowess. Awesome movie and Johnny depp rox!
I am a big fan of all of Tim Burtons movies. He is a pure genius
Edward Scissorhands is one of my favorite Tim Burton movies! I would love to be involved in an Edward Scissorhands sequel! Most especially since there's been so much time that passed, meaning Tim and his team would have a lot to work with! I'd love to do the sequel as part of the me too movement, as a reminder that you don't always have to physically touch them to show them you care.
This movie was my childhood. Tim Burton is such an extraordinary person. I saw his art exhibit at MoMA in NYC and they had the original costume for edward with the wig and scissorhands. It was one of the most incredible moments. The next best would be to actually meet Burton and/or Depp! : )
That movie was SPECTACULAR!!! Jonny Depp just took off, and launched his career!! It was great.
hey evil quick, thanks so much for uploading these we really appreciate it. I love edward scissorhands. probly my favorite movie. and I always wanted to see behind the scenes, backstories, ect and never could find it till now.
tim and johnny are my idols!
5:00 "I love you" gee tears rolling down my face, know this movie since my childhood, it´s so beautiful and touching.
In some strange way, I'm glad that this was (I believe) Vincent Price's final film instead of some horror film because I think this film truly showed people that Price was such a sweet and gentle man and I think that this film did him justice...
i love edward scissorhands
its an amazing movie
You're not gonna have nightmares. It really is a sort of love story/story of a kind misunderstood person. It's a great movie. You won't get nightmares.
Love this film ❤️
This movie is the best ever made. Love it !
This has to be one of the best films ever!
I watched the movie last night after not seeing it for a while and I have this to say. Not matter how many times I see it, I will always see me in the character and I always see Tim himself in the character.
The late 80s / early 90s had a huge massochistic undertone. It is made very evident by the reviews Danny Elfman quoted here. It's easy to forget sometimes, or to love the idea of the 90s, but the entertainment industry was a boy's club for most of that era.
I think this film was fantasic. One of Tim Burton's best films. I loved the misfit theme of the film. Burton always has a misfit that doesn't fit with the rest. Like Pee Wee Hermen, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Jack Skeliton, Edward Bloom and Sweetny Todd. The Danny Elfman score is fantasic as it is in all of his films. I think Burton has set his place in the film world and will always be a creative mind!
This film will always be one of favourites of Johnny Depp's and of all the movies I have ever watched.
tim burtons a genius! this movie was just amazing I loved every second of it! I watched it a few nights ago for the first time and then again last night with my sister cuz its just that good! 5 stars out of 5 :)
Best movie couple ever. Seriously.
I swear to god when I first saw that scene where Kim says she loves Edward and the music starts.....I bawled my eyes out.
ha, i JUST watched this movie, and watching this makes me want to watch the movie again
This was such a fantastic movie !!!
Awww Tim Burton puking in the bathroom =)
I
The soundtrack to this film makes me cry, even when it's not with the movie. It's so beautiful, I love it
I'm inlove with Edward Scissorhands.......
the four people who disliked this movie are part of that fucus group. i love this film, and i have felt like edward on more then one occasion, luv johnny depp, he is amazing, i think this film has pushed sweeney todd down my list of favorite films, and thats saying something!
I never cried watching a movie until I saw Edward Scissorhands. Not that this matters but my life has been extremely tough (not in a "first world problems" way) and I tried to mask my inner emotional and psychological pain with superficiality and popularity but Edward Scissorhands somehow helped me cope and made me a better person. Oh gosh I sound like a sap XD.
The ending always makes me cry
Makes me weep aswell, May I ask why it does so for you ?
@@MJballer97I guess it's the idea of him being alone but he is content to know she loves him even though they can't be together. The ice statues and bushes of the family always get to me... :-( U?
Vintage Kitty what gets me is the portrayal of elderly Kim and it’s indication of inevitable aging. Also how both Edward and Kim lived so close together yet they assumably went 70 years without seeing each other. Think about how long that is , even the actual actor herself was around 17 at the time and she isn’t even 50 yet.
Why do you think she had never gone to visit him , it was assumably over 50 years . You’d think she would go atleast once to see him.
Such a beautiful film!
Omg So sad ! It goes " hold me" then " I can't" Its like AHHH makes me tear up !
this movie makes me cry every time, and i dont cry openly alot.
AWESOME Thanks!!!
Also, I love his hair!
i cryed so much after this movie
this was the best movie ever!!!!
Jenna: (in a heartfelt voice) Edward, I'll be your hands, you be my heart.
(She puts herself in Edward's arms and holds him close to her, while silently sobbing.)
best film ever made.
GOD, I LOVE THIS MOVIE
Owh yes being a little boy in Malaysia during the 90's when this movie was shown on our local tv channel i fell in love with it. It makes me feel like a fairy tale came true in the US not knowing fiction and facts at my age lol.. Whenever it is shown on our local tv channel I'll make sure I'm there on time right in front of my tv screen. Infact today (20th February 2021) I just watched it again. But this time being a adult instead of focusing only on edward, i got my eyes on the beautiful girl hahaha.. she's beautiful, practically american girls are beautiful.😉
I cried when I saw this. He's so different, and they respect him and treat him as one of their own, then it only takes a few assholes to ruin his image and cast him away from the city. :(
Vincent Price was and is awsome!
This movie was filed in my hometown :D
Lakeland, Fl
Me and my grandma always go to that shopping center
elfman is hilarious. lov him and the movie
this movie is probably the best one in the world, some movies that come close are Spirited away and Otoko tachi no yamato, but edward scissorhands is the best.
SO LEGENDARY
All those otherworldly creatures who loved the Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees felt understood by this movie.
Love this movie!
i love this movieeee :)
x
Rest I. Peace Vincent price
great interview story
I love this movie
The only pale white, never-aging Edward I'll ever want is this one :)
At 5:49 - 6:02 is what I feel like at school and at my house every day like no joke
the music sounds like a christmas carol
I remember when I first saw this film I was...captivated by how amazing it was and how..loving it was I actually cried at certain parts of the film because of the emotion you would feel from certain scenes IE Edwards father dieing or When edward cut wynonan ryder's arm and felt horrible about doing it.
my favorite movie
Love Danny Elfman!
I don't think I've ever seen that picture/ image at 0:05 of Edward.
Great film - the best of Tim Burton/ Johnny Depp - shortly followed by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Go with Team Edward. Team Edward Scissorhands. c:
Why am i crying
GREAT ACTOR, GREAT MAN, this is JOHNNY DEPP! ♥
you mean Kim yeah that made me cry i love this movie to
Im so glad Edward was played by Johnny Depp. This movie is genius but i wish he didnt end up all by himself again.
they gotta make a second movie
i really like tim burtons weird moves its like i think like him
My question is, why did Edward say goodbye after killing Jim? As far as the movie goes, Peg not Kim told him to stay at the castle.
i like the irony that burton did batman with the joker then edward scissorhands with anothy michael hall who also did the dark knight... with the joker
edward is so daaaamn cute :-
