I'm so happy to hear Nosferatu isn't a flop, and I appreciate the scant details or spoilers while still giving us the good news! Great Christmas movie for the older family 😁. We watched the Werner Herzog version earlier this year to get ready for this one.
Loved the interview with Taylor Morden. The biggest argument I ever had with my in laws were when the Lost season finale was the same time as the 24 season finale. I lost and harbored a grudge for years!!!!
"Lost" is an afterlife story and plays not in physical reality, but in an in-between dimension I call the Sanctuary. Once you know that, everything is fine. A general tip: When the story starts with someone waking up somewhere, or they are driving down a forest road to a "weird new town," that's signifiers of an afterlife story. "You're not in Kansas any more."
So 'Babygirl' is essentially running a riff on the oft neglected 'Secretary'. Also why is it that people have forgotten Werner Hertzog's Nosferatu with Klaus Kinski? That film was a real presence in the early 80s.
To Rick Martel: Scary is always more important than "gory". (Not addressed to Rick). If any of you have not seen "Let's Scare Jessica To Death", and only care about horror films made after 1995, or even 1985, you *don't* know horror films.
the Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan rehearsals are on YT and are SOOOO much better than any of the shows they did together. Bobby was wasted out of his mind for most of the concerts. The rehearsals show how good those shows should have been!
I'm from Germany and still totally shocked Robbie Williams isn't that famous in the US. In europe he is THE stereotype of rock, roll, drugs, sex, scandals since the 90s.
I'm not a big fan of rock music biopics because they always make the song writing as easy as coming up with a musical piece within minutes and play a song out of chronological order. I may watch the Dylan movie when it streams. Whether you liked Nosferatu or not, I was going to see it.
I can't speak for other single ladies in their 30s, but I have no desire to see Babygirl or any erotic thriller for that matter. Especially on Christmas lol.
Sorry, Chris, there's nothing wrong with being an "Elitist", for the following reasons: Neal Adams in comics was an elitist, Kubrick was an elitist (despite his applied themes), and Hammer Films in their late 1950s-early 1960s horror films were elitist in the manner they created their films from start-to-finish. You need to accept that the current misapprehension of "elitist" merely means "not willing to put the work into the project", and not willing to put the work into a project is something you've complained about for more than a decade.
I’m not a big fan of the baby faced androgynous young movie star thing. Tim really feels like that to me in life. However, when I do see him in interviews, especially when he’s with his co stars he seems to be a pretty nice seeming dude. He doesn’t seem to be coming off the rails from fame as a kid and he doesn’t seem to be setting on his laurels as an actor; He seems to just get better and better. So I’m looking forward to seeing this film and I feel like I’m finally going to come around to being a fan of this kid after this one if it’s really that good. James Mangold, a wonderful director, who has made yet another really killer film it sounds like, and yet he couldn’t do better with an icon like Indiana Jones. Just goes to show that directors of all levels can’t really escape the group think and woke bullshit on certain projects. Maybe Spielberg, maybe Nolan, maybe Ridley and Quinten, but that might be the extent of the list. I’m not the biggest Dylan fan either, but I respect his roll and what he did for music. He’s sort of like the Beatles. I love them, accept I don’t like hearing their versions of the songs, I’d rather hear a really interesting interpretation from someone else. Don’t ask me why, it’s just the way it is. But, the Beatles are the reason, along with their engineer and the tech dudes at Abby Road and Air Studios, for creating the landscape that music is based on today at a fundamental level. They had a journey with technology a lot like ILM in the early years. Ideas that were too grand for what was possible and yet the will to make them happen and the commitment to do whatever it takes to get there. That’s the sort of mix that creates innovation that changes everything.
you guys have made me change my mind about Better Man. the trailers looked AWFUL! looked like Andy Serkis jungle book crap. oh and you dont know Take That and Robbie Williams ??? hahaha wow. i mean , im not a fan or never was, but couldnt escape it on the radio etc. and i thought u guys were around my age too?? so...where were u ? lol

I’m gonna be 48 next week. To say that they don’t make em like they used to is an understatement.

I'm going to rewatch Inside Llewyn Davis just before I see A Complete Unknown.
need to hear you review Sonic 3
Bring back the "I'm Bluey, damn it!" clip where Alan's smoking a cigar!

Jessica is one of the best horror films of the 70s.
I want in on this Nosferatu!

Wait wait wait ✋
YOU DIDNT KNOW ROBBIE WILLIAMS?!?!?!
*W. T. F. ?*
I'm from Germany and still totally shocked Robbie Williams isn't that famous in the US. In europe he is THE stereotype of rock, roll, drugs, sex, scandals since the 90s.

Robbie does a song that is about him taking his "monkey" to Vegas and the trouble that it gets him into.
Alan your thinking to hard on the summaries lol
Chris was like "excuse me! I got this!" lol
I can't speak for other single ladies in their 30s, but I have no desire to see Babygirl or any erotic thriller for that matter. Especially on Christmas lol.
So all he did for Nosferatu is mix the original ripoff with a ripoff of Bram Stoker's Dracula from the 90s and even '69 Dracula. How brilliant....

The poor casting choices really put me off this!

Marnu and Herzog. We don’t need it another. Just a waste to show style.
