Hope you enjoy this weeks video - it's an unboxing of a beautiful small pen. I have a weak spot for petite pens so when I saw this one in the brown and the name of it, I fell in love. Pumpkin latte anyone? I do a writing test at the end.

Ohmigosh! What a pretty pen! Thank you for sharing it with us, it's always great to see fountain pens :) I love gold hardware on pens, I feel it's so classy. It looks like it's a nice size, really similar to a vintage lady size which is honestly my favourite size for a pen. I'd love to hear after you've used it for a bit with different inks, and how you've found it over time, and how you compare it to other pens that you have.
You are so right, the gold hardware is very elegant and classy! It's my second gold hardware pen and I guess I'm hooked now. I wish TWSBI would come out with a black/gold mini pen. Hopefully next year🤞🏼 Definitely have to do an update..I've had some issues with the pen but it is fixed now.

I just got an Esterbrook Estie Honeycomb a couple days ago with a Fine nib and I have the exact same problems you do where it hard starts, the tines seem tight, feedback, etc. I did smooth it with micro mesh and that helps, but not a perfect fix. I ended up ordering a medium nib unit to see if that will help, hopefully it does! Thanks for sharing the JR with us! I love the size of it.
Hopefully the medium will solve your problem. My JR has given hard starts before writing and during writing sessions. It just wouldn't write. What I've had to do is push down the cartridge a bit to force the ink down the feed. It kinda helps but quickly dries up again. I flushed the nib unit with a bulb syringe once and it barely helped. It might be that I have an EF nib.. Or that I need to tune the nib. I don't have any feedback issues though. Hopefully another ink might help. Or another flush.

The pen is so pretty! I love how the shimmer isn't so outspoken and the details are really nice. Love the vibes, it's calm to have in the background and glance over once in a while while doing other things.

Sweet. I had issues with the nib but it only took a few flushes to fix. Hope yours didn't have flow issues. Thx for watching!
I have a love/hate relationship with this pen. While I love the overall design and size (I'm truly amazed by the marbled brown resin body), the nib unit gave me some trouble. My pen had the exact same issue: It was difficult to start writing with and tended to skip while drawing upstrokes. It was becoming so annoying that I had to remove the whole unit and replaced it with a spare TWSBI N°5 nib as a desperate measure. Funny enough, after that swapping, it became very pleasing to write with, but obviously, it does not match the overall design.
That's unfortunate that you had the same issue. It was a headache for me. But now after flushing for three times and ink change (over 2-3 weeks) the nib is working fine, no more hard starts. I think something was stuck in there like debris or silicone grease that came with the pen. I'm glad you at least are finding another way to use it.
