Birds of Central Colombia part six: Urban birding in Medellin and Bogota

- We stayed for three weeks in Central Colombia and covered the area between Medellin and Pereira. We visited following birding hot spots: Tinamu birding nature reserve ( bird guides: Daniel and Fernando), Termales del Ruiz (unfortunately we could not reach the paramo because of the bad weather), the Cocora valley, the Pereira region, the Tatama National Park ( bird guides: Fernando) and Jardin (bird guides : Guillermo Nagy and dona Lucia). We ended with some urban birding in Medellin and Bogota. We made a series of six short video's according to the different hot spots.
We could succesfully document over 150 species from this area. Since many bird species have a large distribution area while others are confined to some specific locations, in order to avoid overlap, we show most species only once.
Colombia is a beautifull country with proud and very friendly people! We enjoyed our stay.

What is the video camera are you using? Unbelievably amazing hd video scene and pictures
I currenly use a Sony FDR AX 53 with a Sony X2 teleconverter and record in both HD and 4K. With this configuration I can get up to 1200 mm 35mm equivalent.
However not very easy to use! You always need a tripod and and in order to get sharp and well exposed images, you have most often to use the manual mode for both focus and exposure adjustments.
Do your kids know you're an youtube influencer? ;-) They will be proud.
Ik heb al je video's gezien, sommige meerdere keren. Voor vogelspotters die niet in de gelegenheid zijn om de wereld over te reizen fantastisch materiaal. Heerlijk om naar te kijken en te dromen waar je misschien ooit heen kan als je de lotto wint!
We beseffen dat we inderdaad geluksvogels zijn ! daarom ook willen we graag onze ervaringen en verwondering delen. bedankt.

Les recomiendo que vengan a puerto vallarta se la pasarían de lo mejor además de que hay gran variedad de aves en esta región 👍🏼👌🦉
Para qué van a ir a puerto Vallarta, sí en Colombia hay más especies de aves
