    Nice looking build. Thread tape goes on in the opposite direction. Goes on in the direction of the thread, the tightening direction 😬

    Hi Ben, the van is coming together nicely and looking really good. The carpet does give it a nice finish. Just a little tip when applying PTFE tape, wind the tape onto the threads in a clockwise direction, that way it won't come undone when you make the joint. Best wishes to you both with the rest of your build and looking forward to the final van tour. :D

      +Greg Virgoe hi Greg, thanks for the lovely comment 😀 that’s a great tip, we will definitely remember that for other joints. Will also be useful for plumbing around the house. Enjoying watching your build as well, do you have your first trip planned yet?

      @@SunscreenDreams Yes, we are waiting for the V5 to come back from DVLA, decided to stay in UK now for XMAS with my kids (young adults) and family then head south in January, down through France, Portugal and Southern Spain in the hope for some warmer spots to camp :D

      +Greg Virgoe sounds like a good plan. Some winter sun would be really good. 😀

    Shurflo recommends not putting thread tape on the connections. Just thought you might want to know as it voids you warranty.

    I am almost at this step, waiting on the filter I forgot to order, great video! I am undecided yet on the accumulator tank, may I ask your reason for installing it?

    You should Always Wrap the ptfe tape in the Same direction as the thread goes, NOT the other way pal

    Great video. Useful information. I see you didn't end up fitting an isolation valve on the tank side of the filter as mentioned in your first video. I think that would be a great idea but I cannot seem to source one. If you fitted one after filming please let me know where you got it from. Many thanks.

    Hi what direction dose the water go? Left to right or right to left? Or dose it not matter thanks

    • @SunscreenDreams
      @SunscreenDreams  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Micheal, the water enters in from the right hand side, when you are looking straight on to the pump and accumulator, and is then pumped around the van from there. The accumulator needs to be on the outflow side of the pump.

    I hold several different licenses for many different things. One of them is a plumber. I just want to point out your Teflon tape you put on you put on the wrong way the wrong direction.

    Sorry but I found this video to be confusing and misleading. First of all you start by connecting the filter to the outlet port of the pump. Then you use PTFE tape which goes against the manufacturer's recommendation which is to "Never use Teflon tape or sealing compounds on threads". Not only that but you also slacken off the joint to get the filter into position which is likely to result in a leaking joint. The manufacturer also recommends that if you are mounting the pump in a vertical position then the pump head should be in the down position so that in the unlikely event of a leak, water will not enter the motor.

    Hi Ben - I have ordered tanks from the same manufacturer as yourself - fitting mid March - what size hose did you use to connect the cold water system ?

    • @SunscreenDreams
      @SunscreenDreams  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ian, we used 12mm flexible from the water tanks to the water pump. From the tank to the rear of the van where we installed the pump we used about 5m. We purchased this off ebay ebay.to/2SrqQjU Hope this answers your question.

      Sunscreen Dreams thanks for that it certainly does ..... our van is a boxer but I assume he uses the same size connections. Thanks

    You did that wrong twic... The tape goes on clockwis... So that when you screw the device on clockwise the tape doesn't back off.
