I think the podcast served its purpose. Shane’s intention from the start was to be a really great stand up comedian and he’s on his way to accomplishing that. It was a way for them in the beginning to make money on the side and do something in between shows. They didn’t realize how successful the podcast would be and how little work it takes once it takes off. Similar to the cumtown pod.
I think they fully knew how little work it was, they just never thought it would become the biggest podcast on patreon. Cumtown had been around and Shane being friends with them knew just how stupidly easy it was from a time investment standpoint.

I get that they still rely on studios and producers to get the typical cool opportunities that comics always want, but a lot less than others. On top of that it's like they built that base of support being wild af because it's refreshing

It was a fun watch seeing shane essentially acting as if he never became famous and had to be in a laymens job as a lube tech 😂 The episode windows of opportunity was scarily accurate with the glass salesman and his reaction to shane actually making decent money at the tireshop because he wanted to recruit him as an installer 😂
