The pawn formation in Western Chess is phalanx. The pawn formation Chinese Chess is maniple. Historically, maniple is an improvement over phalanx formation, meaning it came after phalanx. Chinese Chess cannot be made from scratch. To make it from scratch, it has to be in phalanx formation.
13:48 Liubo 六博 (six sticks, used as a dice) is not mysterious nor Chinese. Liubo is Parcheesi, which is also Indian in origin. And it has nothing to do with chess.
Liubo may have been influenced elsewhere but it is a Chinese invention, and it is mysterious because the game went extinct by the Tang Dynasty and we can only rely on ancient historical accounts to try and figure out Liubo gameplay. As for its influence, there is no concrete evidence that shows that Liubo was influenced by Indian board games, with a legend saying that Liubo was invented during the Xia Dynasty by a minister named Wu Cao.
